"Asta, Sunset, step inside the spire! Seraph and I will hold this entrance. Torod, you and your cat hold that one. If it insists on these hit and run attacks, then so be it! Everyone be ready to strike the moment it is within range!"

Asta Blackheart |
Fortitude 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Asta does not immediately respond to Thomas' words, absorbed as she is by her casting. As her voice rises to a triumphant crescendo, the air warps, darkens, then brightens -- and 1d3 ⇒ 2 shapes of swirling, living air appear!
While the air elementals threateningly hover above the group, Asta moves into the spire, tugging on Seraph's arm. "Join me. I'm bringing in the spiders."
I'll move the spiders to cover the entrance; the quickling will take automatic damage when it tries to cross them. The two small air elementals are poised to attack as soon as the critter comes within range.
GM Glyn |
Sunset ready a alchemical fire flask to burn the fey out with.
Torod and Strawberry block the southern tower entrance ready to attack if the fey comes within range.
Thomas calls for Sunset and Seraph to step within the tower as he and Seraph block the northern entrance.
Asta resist the sleepy poison effects and completes her summoning of two air elements. The air elementals take up defensive positions floating around Asta and speak in Auran ”~~~~ ~~~~~”
Meanwhile the quickling fey breaks cover and rushes past Torod slashing at him then retreating back into the undergrowth south of the tower. The fey and Torod trade weapon strikes as Strawberry misses due to the fey’s blur. (Both Torod and Strawberry get an AoO on the fey as it zooms past. 20% blur miss chance.)

Having avoid their readied and opportunistic attacks, the quickling rushes past Torod and Stawberry again making another attack on Torod, but misses. Torod misses his readied and opportunistic strike. Stawberry misses her ready, but slashes the fey deeply on her opportunistic attack, still fails to trip it.
The Fey yelps in pain and runs off to nurse it’s wounds.
After waiting several rounds with no further attacks you feel it’s safe enough to continue your explorations.

Seraph_ |
Seraph grunts, disliking the situation they were in. Especially with an escaped foe. "With its speed I doubt we can puruse it..."
Saying that she gives the area a quick looking over before moving to Torod and laying a hand on him intoning a simple spell of healing to removing his bleeding injuries..
Cast CLW on Torod: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
If someone doesn't do it first she presses on.
When Torod's wounds fade she turns her hand on his companion, waiting until Strawberry was aware of her before briefly touching the large tiger with her hand and healing her injuries as well. She was feeling the drain on her abilities and hoped that her efforts weren't going to be counter productive later. "Lets clear this lower area before heading up into the central tower. I dislike the idea of more possible enemies trapping us inside because we missed them."

Sunset, |

"Yah.... I need to learn me a book about them critters...."
As every one begins to relax with the... disappearance... of their feisty fey foe.
She looks around at the room the party finds itself in.
Perception:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
She also has potions to offer people to heal their ills.
Seraph_ |
She smiles at Torod's words patting him on his shoulder. "Your broad shoulders chasing the speed creature looked fine to me." She nods at Thomas's suggestion, in full agreement of search the lower area first.
With that Seraph hangs back with Asta, sword at the ready in case their foe returned with blurring speed. She was prepared to block its path until Asta begins to move, then she follows.
GM Glyn |
Seraph heals Torod’s and Strawberry’s wounds.
Not happy about letting the fey escape, Torod is ready to finish exploring the towers.
Thomas is impation to finish as well.
Sunset glances around muttering about books and critters.
Seraph guards Asta as the others look around.
Now that you have time to look around the first floor This wide chamber has an impressive vaulted ceiling. Though obscured in places by earth and undergrowth, the hall's floor is crafted of smooth stone tiles in multicolored pastel hues. The walls of the chamber are decorated with faded frescoes of sylvan life, showing scenes of beautiful elves engaged in hunting, feasting, dancing, singing, and a bewildering variety of other idyllic pursuits. To the west, a graceful, filigreed stone staircase, garlanded with flowering vines, climbs to the level above.
You have only a handful of seconds before to admire the chamber’s decorations, before the room fills with a cloying violet mist causing those who breath it to see maddening vision of dark, moonless nights; twisted, malignant trees; and hot streaming rivers of blood.

Need poison saves from Asta and Serph
Nothing attacks the group after being poisoned, but so far Torod seems to be greatly affected by the maddening visions.

Sunset does the best she can by Torod and sks how he's fairing.

As the mist descends Seraph eyes go wide and her sword falls tip down into whatever floor was by her feet with an audible thunk. The maddening visions though short-lived, cause her inhuman muscles to flex defensively against the horrors she was seeing. Her arms were larger than normal before she was able to wrestle her senses back to reality. But her breathing was unsteady now, she grips her blade with white-knuckle force as she glances for something unseen.

Asta gags at the hateful, violet mist. Wild-eyed, she manages to expel the worst of the stuff out of her lungs.
"I am getting the feeling," she says, "that this place may not be worth the bother just now. We need to regroup and recover before we spring even more of these traps."

Sunset, |
Do we check the tower we find ourselves in? Or look into the other three unknowns?
Seraph_ |
Seraph looks over the tower with a hard glint in her eyes. With sword in hand, she presses on.
"Afraid? Then stay behind me." She literally bristles at the idea of running. She wouldn't run from anyone once they hurt her.
She storms out of the central tower, intent on searching the grounds first and clearing away any threats like she had before. She swings her blade as she goes, slashing the underbrush like a scythe and intent on driving the speedy attacker out of hiding.

Use detect evil
Heading hurting she does as she asks nodding to Asta. psmaller]"Apologies for earlier Milady, the visions... brought out the worst in me."[/smaller] The apology does little to lessen the swollen battle ready arms she had. The inhuman muscle she was displaying was the source of her ability to wield such a large blade.
With that said she moves as using her divine gift to sense foul intent and blackened souls. Hoping that it could pierce the ancient stones...
GM Glyn |
Moving to the southeast tower, Torod finds it has a wooden door made from roughly-cut timber planks, obviously of newer construction than the rest of the keep, blocks the entrance to this tower. Detecting no threats he looks inside.
This 40 foot tall tower is also missing its roof, but interwoven, leafy vines and the forest canopy above provide a ceiling of sorts, shading the interior and allowing only dim illumination. Inside, the rubble and undergrowth have been cleared away to create a cozy living space, decorated with crude wooden furniture, sized for a Small creature, and bloody scalps nailed to the walls. You surmise that this is the home of the Quickling creature that attacked you in the courtyard.

Since this has now turned to a treasure hunt it would seem, Thomas joins in and begins looking the room over. Spotting a clay run hidden in an out of reach space, Thomas moves things around to where he can reach it. Opening the lid, he says ”Looks like our fast footed friend had quite the lucrative ambush enterprise before we came along.”
He makes his way over to Asta and hands the urn over to her before taking a post by the door.
