My hard-drive where I kept my Traveller books didn't want to live anymore, so I'm not entirely sure how bursts and full auto fire works - which feels like the most efficient way of using an smg : )
I'll go with a single shot now for ease-of-play but until I can track down a pdf vendor that carries them again (or a reference site or something) could someone repost those specific rules ?

Burst Fire (rules addition)
Weapons that fire a burst of 2, 3, 4, 10, 20, or 100 rounds may improve the attacker’s odds of hitting a target or inflict additional damage. The attacker must decide whether to spray the target, increasing the chances of scoring a hit, or to fire a precise, grouped burst in the hope of inflicting greater damage. Either sort of burst fire is considered a standard action. Characters with more than one attack per round may take this action for each attack. See the Damage rules (pg. 148) for more information on applying damage.
Burst Fire Effects
Burst Size | Attack Bonus | Extra Damages
1 round | +0 | +0 damage
3 round burst | +1 | +1 die of damage
4 round burst | +2 | +2 dice of damage
10 round burst | +3 | +3 dice of damage
20 round burst | +5 | +5 dice of damage
100 round burst | +10 | +10 dice of damage

While I'm at it...
Suppressive Fire (rules addition)
Any personal weapon with a rate of fire greater than two may be used to produce covering and suppressive fire, in an attempt to get hostiles to keep their heads down. This is considered a full round action. Anything moving or taking an action that is not under 100% cover, is within a 5 block/hex (7.5 meters) arc of fire in front of the character’s weapon, and within the first range increment of the weapon using suppressive fire, may be hit. Check only once per available target, up to a number of targets equal to one-half the normal rate of fire for the weapon. Roll to hit normally but with a -4 penalty due to the inaccuracy of this type of fire. If anything is actually hit, use Suppressive Fire Damage table. See the Damage rules (pg. 148) for more information on applying damage.
Rate of Fire 10 or Greater: If the rate of fire of the weapon is 10 or greater, targets within the second range increment of the weapon, and an 8 block/hex arc (12 meters) may also be hit. Roll to hit normally but at a -8
penalty. If anything is actually hit, use Suppressive Fire Damage table below.
Anything beyond these ranges are unlikely to be hit, but if you do want to check, extend the possible area to be hit out to the range of the weapon, along a 8 block/hex wide (12 meters) path from the attacker. The to hit roll at these ranges will be at -10, and of course no more than a number of targets may be hit than have been rounds fired.
This effect lasts until the character’s next round action.
Suppressive Fire Damage
RoF | Extra Damage
3-4 rounds | none
10 rounds | +1 die of damage
20 rounds | +2 die of damage
100 rounds | +4 dice of damage

In a side note, tomorrow, until probably Tuesday, I'm going to be out of town for a wedding. Feel free to DM PC me, or let another player take over for me.
| Viktoria Ceres |
Thanks for the links and rules : )
I went with a standard shot just now and considering the roll, it was probably for the better ^^
On the bright side, it is not every day you get to see the Captain shoot herself in the foot!
----
Have fun at the wedding : )

Plan: Clear the westmost of the enemies so that we can give Vathan some room to breathe. We (Victoria mostly) might take some damage in the breakout attempt, but if the dice continues to be so kind we'll put down the pair in no-time. Then she's out of harms way (she hopes) and we can sweep the lizards from the flank!

Sorry everyone, we're on break until after christmas. I've been sick for a week, bronchitus. Doctor gave me a z-pak (alergic to penicilin) and it's wiping me out. I'll be dragging bottom for at least 3 more days, and that takes us to X-Mas, so we're on break until next week. Sorry, collapsed last night and slept all day Saturday.
| Viktoria Ceres |
Sad to hear that you are sick - we hope you get well as quick as possible :)
And happy holidays to you all!
| Ophelia Holt |
I'm sorry to hear that mdt, though I hope things get better!
And I hope you have fun traveling Annara!
And happy holidays to everyone!
| Viktoria Ceres |
If you celebrate, merry Christmas!
If you don't, have a nice day!
| Ophelia Holt |
Glad to see you back mdt! I hope you're feeling better!

Game related, does it seem as if the Mylthani still does not want me running off?
| Ophelia Holt |
I'll delay until something shows up or I get a request for help over our comms.
| Viktoria Ceres |
Here!
However, I have a pair of meaty reports due the 8th that are eating up most of my time/energy. If Ceres is needed to act before then, feel free to do something semi-sensible with her :)
| Ophelia Holt |
Is that a problem? I mean, how often do space explorers run into odd diseases or contagions?
| Viktoria Ceres |
Back : )
I *think* we can manage without Ziirka, perhaps by retraining a few skill or something. But on the other hand, he has proven to be a very skilful member and his shoes might be hard to fill.
---
I'm sad to see you go Ziirka - but the time we had you was awesome!
Good luck in your future endeavours :)
| mdt |
Ok, someone want to take over Ziirkaa for me then? I'm on the road this week, so the less botting I have to do the better. I don't think Annaarra's 'dive prone' plan is very good considering he's surrounded.
| Viktoria Ceres |
@Annara - Sorry to see you leave, you will be missed. May fortune smile on you : )

+1 on Vathans suggestion.
From experience, merely three PCs in total can make things a bit spotty, so I rather see that we pick up one or two extras. But we'll see how it goes : )

Question: The Martha is capable of space-to-land barrages yes?
Plan A - Return to APC, flatten useless building next to powerplant with orbital bombardment then land in the now flat space.
Bonus A - Run an IR scan over the city, bombard any liveforms that is not us
Plan B - Return to APC, hover over plant, rappel down, use winch to carry anything of value back out of the city.
Thoughts? :)

If possible (and not considered disrespectful of the natives), these sound like good ideas.
I'm really up for anything that ends of with these things dead at this point.
| Viktoria Ceres |
They were going to freeze to popsicles soon anyhow.
I played some civ earlier today, I can proudly say I may have bombarded a few aliens with missile cruisers as a way to extract vengeance already ^^
