Handle Animal: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Maeron calls Tenderstump to heel as they step off the boat. Not wanting to disturb the locals or draw too much attention, the Treesinger and treant withdraw to the back of the party as they near the inn.

With a nod and a smile to the doorman, Miro enters the Inn, hoping the others (minus Icarus) follow suit. He looks around for the owner/manager, heading straight for that person.

![]() |

You enter the common room. Dark oaken tables, chairs and benches fill this comfortable, L-shaped room, and the faint odors of tobacco and ale permeate the air. Narrow windows with panes of smoked glass along the north and south walls allow some light into this welcoming space.
There is only one person in this room: an old woman wiping the tables. When you enter the inn she comes closer to you and says "Welcome to the Gray Revelation Inn. My name is Addas Grymble, I run this inn with my two sisters. Please have a seat you look hungry. Where are you coming from and what brings you here?" She smiles.

![]() |

Before entering the inn, Dorgrin clears his throat. "Ahem, would someone please give me some healing? I fear that a wounded people in a traveling merchant group might attract the attention."

![]() |

"Greetings, Addas Grymble. I am Miro Ammars, wandering merchant, and trade brings me here, of course! These fellows here are my helpers and guardians, to make sure the fruits of our labors don't get plucked by the wrong hands."
He takes a seat at the offered table, grinning at the old woman. "A bite to eat would be wonderful! Fellows, come on over here and get some food in you before we unload everything, alright?"

Miro, could you do a Bluff Check please? :)

Sense Motive Addas: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
"Sure, my sister made some beef stew today, and we have fresh bread and ofen potatoes." Addas says. After a few seconds she continues "A merchants you say. Alright, are you going to stay here for tonight? It's not save for a merchant vessel on the river in the dark."

![]() |

"That sure sounds delicious. Please bring us some, if you would." Miro cocks his head to the side at the mention of safety. "Mistress Addas, we surely would love to stay with you. How much would a room be? Let's say, one for me, and one for my employees?"

![]() |

Everything looks normal to Icarus. When looking through the windows in the main building, he can see a kitchen, the common room and some guest rooms. The smaller building on the opposit side of the yard is a stable. It's empty except a horse and Rosh, the deaf servant and blacksmith.
Kyroden does not find any magical auras in the common room.

![]() |

Miro smiles politely, waiting for the food and answers. He looks around with curiosity, asking offhandedly, "Mistress Addas, you run this Inn with your two sisters? I've always wondered about running a place like this? I've put thought into building one when I retire. What kind of staffing do you keep on hand?"

![]() |

"There is only my two sisters, Rosh and me. Rosh manages the stables and does a lot of repairs. My sisters and I do the cleaning and cooking." Addas answers. "Excuse me please, I'll get your food and drinks."
After a few minutes she returns with what you ordered and two old women. "These are my sisters. Are you going to stay tonight? If so I have to prepare the rooms for you. We have simple rooms for 5sp per person, standard rooms for 3gp for three persons and superior rooms for 5gp for three persons. Please Keep in mind that only the standard and superior rooms have windows."

![]() |

Miro appears to ponder for a moment, then smiles widely at his 'employees'. You gents have been fine workers the past few days! You shall each have your own room! A Standard room for me, Mistress Addas. That's five gold total, correct?"[/b] He digs 5 gp out of his purse, handing them to the old woman. "When we get finished eating we'd like to return to the ship and unload our wares. That should give you plenty of time to get our rooms ready!"

![]() |

"That's correct. Thank you dear sir." The three ladies leave you alone and do what's necessary to prepare your rooms. After about twenty minutes they return. "Everything should be ready. The bathroom is over there and you already know where the kitchen is. I hope everything is fine for you. If you don't mind, I wish you a good night. We have to get up early tomorrow morning, so we will move to our bedrooms now." Addas turns around and gets into her room. Her sisters follow her a few moments later. Also Rosh goes to sleep.
I revealed the remaining parts on the map.

He addresses his 'employees'. "Come, let us return to the ship to get our things!" He exits, whistling loudly to be hopefully noticed by Icarus as he travels toward the ship.

"Maybe we could take advantage of the opportunity to search the inn" Dorgrin says in a low voice, seeing that there was now no sound from the main building. "I can see in the dark and I can cover you with my crossbow if needed."

![]() |

"Aye, good idea, Dorgrin. Let's start with the stables, then search the Inn proper. It's a bunch of old ladies and a deaf boy, so I think we're wasting our time, but we still have to go through the motions."

![]() |

"Our entire group skulking around together in the dark in full armor might raise some questions. We'll have to be careful. Dorgrin should stand guard since he can see in the dark. The rest of us should be out of sight."
Moved my token to the stables per Miro's suggestion.

Miro will move over to the stables, trying to be stealthy about it. No sense in all of them getting caught.

Miro will pocket the evidence with a small frown. He turns to Maeron. "You seem to have some skill with animals, would you care to keep this horse calm and quiet while we search its stall?"

![]() |

Having remained silent and stoic since their arrival, Maeron speaks up again at Miro's request.
"I'm far better with plants and the bounty of the land than animals, but I shall endeavor to placate the creature."
The druid approaches the animal cautiously, attempting to keep it calm and relaxed.

"I, too, also see the outline of the door, Maeron. This horse will be troublesome, though. Thoughts, anybody?" Miro was definitely excited about the find. Miro certainly didn't want to hurt the beast, but the dwarves came first. He considers just releasing the animal.

Maeron approaches the horse and attempts to stroke and calm it, hoping to befriend it and allow him to move it off the trapdoor.
Maeron will attempt to use Green Empathy (which can be used as Wild Empathy but with a -4 bonus. It counts as Diplomacy check against the animal using Maerons charisma + druid level, with a -4 penalty for it being an animal and not a plant.

Hooray!
Maeron tries to urge the horse aside to allow them to access the trapdoor, but the horse remains stubborn. As he interacts with the creature the druid suddenly realises it is nothing more than arcane trickery.
"This horse is nothing more than an illusion, likely placed here to disuade people from accessing the trap door. If our hosts are attempting to hide such an entrance that bodes ill."
Maeron draws his longbow, notching an arrow and attempts to swing the trapdoor open through the imaginary horse.

Dorgrin goes also near the horse and takes a closer look at it but don't see anything unusual. He tries to help the druid calm the animal but without much success.
