We apologize for the inconvenience and inanity. She apparently is pouring on the "ditz" act, for some reason. You may go back to your previously scheduled gaming and feel free to discuss or ignore at your option.

Tacticslion |

The player from the fourth table is randomly popping up in these discussion areas for no apparent reason. You are free to ignore them, and if they're a problem or otherwise bothering you, just let me know. I will... deal with it. ^^
If I bother you, I'll deal with it: if anything I said is bothersome, I earnestly apologize; it's in the spirit of comradery and enjoyment. Mostly, I'm just saying that I'm enjoying your story and your character. It's really cool. The rest is just silly joking around on my part in-character.
To be clear, as GM said above, I'm the poster who made the Herald of All post. I'm following your stories because your characters are cool concepts.
If it helps, "H'ecks-pha-czu'whaugh" and "Heksfazia" are two sides of the same character. She'll be switching forms a lot, and have slightly different personalities with the different forms. That said, though she's not an outsider, if you do ever get the chance to summon or call her, that'd be pretty funny awesome.
Also, she very much so pretends to be less intelligent than she is. Helps people underestimate her and enables her to manipulate them more.
If you're interested in out-of-character discussions, I like the Raven Queen inspiration for your character coming from 4E, as well as the integration with Golarion-based PF lore. I also love the dual connections to Saranrae: both your own (her sister) and Hadran's. Pretty interesting, honestly, and fascinating to watch. It's also fascinating because both you and Hadran had their relationship changed with the advent of Rovagug, though not directly through said qlippoth god's actions, but rather just in how it changed perspectives and ideals.
I'm really looking forward to following your progress, unless you'd rather not, and I'd have a blast chatting with you about it on occasion, if you'd like. Either way, have great gaming, and God bless you! :D

Darth Rednal knows how to deal with Rebel Scum.
But no it's cool, I'm glad you like my inspired character. The Raven Queen was one of my favorite LFR deities and I had a Changeling Assassin devoted to her, so this campaign is sort of my way of getting a little bit of that back, and playing that character again - although Pathfinder unfortunately doesn't offer any kickass shapeshifting races that can do shenanigans. It was definitely fun taking some of those deific ideas and putting my own spin on them.
Hadran is also interesting, and tbh I'm a little jealous of his dual player campaign since he can bounce off his fellow PC when Rednal isn't posting.

Tacticslion |

Hah! Well, maybe you could bounce things off of Hexy if you want to in the future. :)
I understand the jealousy-thing! I actually am a huge fan of Psionics, so Harath beat me to that! ... and I love the dual-player game! And you've got a friggin' library! :D (The girl really was "jelly" of that - and yes, that's a "terri-bad" colloquialism for "jealous". Feel free to ask if her speech ever confuses. I... won't translate the "****" - to be honest, I have only the most vague of notions of what they actually are.) :D

Tacticslion |

Hey, Sevia: I was hunting for my own character when I cam across this thing and though might be worth suggesting to both you and/or Hadran. :D
EDIT: Heck, might as well share my own ideas, if you'd like 'em.

Sevia, The Raven Queen |

The speech isn't that confusing. It sounds rather stereotypically Californian. Like, heavily stereotypical. The spell you suggested is unfortunately a divine spell and I don't have access to them.
Scholar's Touch seems interesting but pretty fluffy though. Glad I have Wild Arcana that lets me have access to my whole spell list.

So, how do the rules work for Knowledge checks on PbPs work? Is it any different than regular gameplay?
Also - How does the Familiar work? Does it just show up sometime?

Generally speaking, there are two ways Knowledge checks can be done for Play-by-Post games. In some cases, to save time, a GM will do something like this:
When that happens, the polite thing to do is not look unless you're supposed to, though players are on their honor for it. XD
Alternately, you can just roll a knowledge check at any appropriate time and request more information about a given subject. ^^

Generally speaking, displaying a consistent preference for certain responses in various situations can bring you closer to a given alignment. This is a time when being mortal comes in handy, since deities in their true forms tend to have a much harder time changing their minds.
You will occasionally be offered moral choices throughout the campaign - I won't specifically ask if you're trying to change alignments, so be sure to remind me if you are trying to change alignments, and I'll keep track of it. XD Making several major choices a certain way will move you one step on the chart (to either Lawful Neutral or Neutral Good, depending on your choices).

Sevia, The Raven Queen |

Well I'm looking to move toward LG by level 3 or 4 to qualify for Paladin levels (Was considering Inquisitor).
Do I get to know what the note says before tomorrow?

Sevia, The Raven Queen |

Yeah it's just that there's times where I kind of want to know the result of a die roll before I finish my post. So I get the feeling I might be making a lot more If-Then-Else posts in the future unless I can get die results immediately. Like, is there any chance I could (say) roll to do X, get just a bare result from you, and make a follow up post with the rest of what I do?
Also, I am planning to take Improved Familiar at level 7 (almost certainly will select a Faerie Dragon). How does that work with the switch from the first familiar?

I don't even look at the thread until I'm ready to respond (to keep the notification that your post has been made and ensure I don't forget!), but I'll respond here in the Discussion at any time if you want to ask a question. ^^ I do understand the feeling of wanting to get results right away, especially if it would slow things down otherwise. Of course, that won't always help mid-post, since it's not like I'm in front of the computer all day...
I'll see what I can do to include checks within the post and otherwise help ensure you'll know if you succeeded or not. ^^

Sevia, The Raven Queen |

Just fair warning - if there's a mystery here you're expecting me to solve...or mysteries plural, well - don't. Because I'm pretty terrible at solving mysteries and I'm going to drive this campaign in circles without liberal amounts of clues in that case.
Oh also, if you can try to get your next post in before 8am PST (so...when you usually post) that'd be great cause after that I'm not going to be back home for the rest of the day otherwise to post.

Tacticslion |

Ahem, as a player that's not, you know, an actual player, if I may be so bold: if you want a Raven, but find it's abilities lacking, would it be acceptable to the GM to 're-fluff' your actual choice into a visual raven, even though it's not? In other words, the size, scores, and all that would be according to your actual choice, but visually it's a raven. You get your familiar, you get your style, it's unique and noticeable, appropriate for your domain, and makes an interesting concept.
... or maybe you should both ignore me. There's a distinct possibility of that being a thing. :)

Tacticslion |

Oh, man, do I ever do that sort of thing! Sorry if I do that, GM.
EDIT: To be clear, I think this is a fun game to follow, but I entirely empathize with the ability to become obsessed over something that doesn't matter. I can... do so. Of course, that could lead to funny results like that one time I went through a major fortress entirely backwards, so I fought the boss first, and headed through from there due to an in-character obsession with a 'back door' to the point that he made one when he couldn't find it, not that my.

Sevia, The Raven Queen |

That's good to know. I just want to avoid obsessing over things that aren't actually there y'know? Like an adventurer who won't leave a cave because "There's no way the module would REALLY not have a single bit a loot here"
Regarding the people I'm tracking. I just want to get some overland movement questions cleared up 1) Am I tracking them through trackless forest? I'm assuming these have 30ft movement and 2 days of travel (1 for the day I left them and 1 for the day I was tracking them) if they're going through trackless forest though that cuts their movement in half. 2) If my move speed through a trackless forest is half (60ft to 30ft) and I am using survival to track (half my normal speed, so 60ft to 30ft), does my speed drop to 15ft? I was assuming it didn't because moving at 30ft through a forest is the speed I would go at to track anyways.

Tacticslion |

Saw this, and thought you may be interested.

Tacticslion |

Hahah! No, I just meant Sevia/CommandoDude might be. It's titled "Raven Knight" and kind of looks like her avatar - at least a little (the cloak and clasps, implications of armor, and the black/white/gray (well, sepia-toned) all seem like something she might like for aesthetic reasons. That's all.

Sevia, The Raven Queen |

So for the Quest spell - How does it work exactly? I'm compelled to basically follow its instructions essentially, to the extent which I cannot subvert them? What does it mean to be "prevented" from following the spell's instructions?

GM Rednal |
You are magically compelled to obey the terms of the curse - for example, if you tried to lie, you wouldn't be able to say anything. If someone in the city was in danger and you knew about it, it would force your body into motion (since you're not allowed to stand idly by). Being prevented from following them is basically being forced to not pursue the tasks assigned - which, fortunately, isn't very easy under the terms of your specific curse.

Sevia, The Raven Queen |

That's a pretty evil thought isn't it? Cast Quest on someone ordering them to kill people, then Cast Quest on someone ordering them to harm no person. They're prevented from carrying out BOTH spells and are cripplied with a -24 on all their stats forever until you get a very powerful wizard/cleric to cast remove curse on them. Oh and it would probably drive them insane or something.

Sevia, The Raven Queen |

Level 2
Ref Save +1
Ki Pool - 6/day
Ninja Trick - Vanishing Act
14 Skill points
Will Save +1
+1 lvl1 Spell/day
+1 0th Level Spell Known (Message)
+1 Skill Point (Favored Class)
Familiar HP = 20
1d10*1.5 (15) + 4 CON = +19
Fort Save +2
BAB +1
Bonus Feat (Two Weapon Fighting)
Class Skills
Knowledge (Arcana, Nature, Dungeoneering, Local) +1 (4), Craft (Weapons, Bows, Alchemy) +1 (3), Perform (Dance) +1, Diplomacy +1, Sense Motive +1, Perception +1, Swim +1, Disguise +1, Spellcraft +1, Bluff +1
I'm assuming that BAB is determined by adding the levels of the best class first followed by the second best up to your overall character level. So Fighter1 + Rogue1 = Character Level2
By the way, I was wondering for prerequisites whether you could substitute Piranha Strike for Power Attack (I'm thinking about taking Curnugon Smash later).

GM Rednal |
I suppose that's one way to count it. XD I usually just think of it as "take the increase at each level if one of the classes gives it", but in practice, it's probably the same thing.
On substitutions: As mentioned before, I'm allowing one substitution for prerequisites. If you'd like to switch Piranha Strike for Power Attack here, you will lose the ability to switch Critical Mastery in for Bleeding Critical.
Everything looks good otherwise, though. ^^

Just wondering if you mind altering the crafting rules to allow craft checks to complete items based on gp rather than sp. I just realized that crafting is going to take ludicrously long under the normal rules.

GM Rednal |

Honestly? I think you should just focus on buying things (when possible) instead of spending time and money crafting. XD I expect (and plan for) you to end up significantly wealthier at each level than a normal character - if you just want to save money, rest assured that you'll have plenty going forward.
If you really want to craft stuff, though, for whatever reason... yes, we can allow the time spent to be done in GP instead of SP. ^^

Sevia, The Raven Queen |

It is just a pet peeve of mine, I am a very frugal sort of person. Also, there is an appeal to me in forging my own weapons etc (and really, mundane crafting benefits mostly just at low levels).
And I mean, really - if I wanted to I could just take the time to craft at normal speed. But it would be kinda boring to say "I spend half a year doing nothing but crafting this sword" and narratively is just seems...awkward.

Sevia, The Raven Queen |

Not that I don't like basically knowing the dungeon layout before I go in and all - but it DOES feel kinda cheaty you know? If you used Photoshop or some other similar program you could just throw up a Fog of War layer on top of all the unexplored rooms to avoid the metagame...
