Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha
Elsa watches the proceedings with a haughty look in her eye, bartering was beneath her. She would let the others do that task.
Malena Omoroi
Malena nods. "Let's go, then, and speak with this alchemist. Remind me, though, to stop by my house and pick up my regular gear!"
To their host, she adds, "How shall we find you again after we're done? Nail in the same tree?"
GM Chyro
Agent nods.
"Just be sure you are prepared. I'm sure the remaining thugs have been taken care of. But for now i would suggest you rest up."
Approx 21:00 at the time you leave.
Agent takes the scroll and uses it again. The portal reappears and the scroll seems to crumble.
Feel free to RP any "goodnight" stuff, but:
You each reach your respective place for the night.
Sleep hasn't felt so welcome in a long while. You dream of the past few days, what you've seen and done.
Btw:
GM Chyro
The next morning you arrive at the upper market.
It doesn't take much to notice a ruse nearby. There's yelling coming from a stand nearby.
The scene
A man with glasses/spectacles is making a fuss.
"Really, what kind of stands does this city have that are not complete failures? You're telling me you're out of that specific ware?
No, i will not calm down, i am prepared to pay your re-di-cu-lous prices and you claim you don't have it in stock?"
The man slaps something off the stand with the back of his hand in a fit.
No sign of the mentioned lackey though.
Lyssa Kail
"You, mongrel!" Lyssa shouts as she steps up to the rude man, "Pick that up! And if it's damaged, you'll pay for it! Damaging someone else's property is against the law!"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
The +3 is considering the change I wrote about in the discussion thread is allowed. If not allowed, it'll be -1.
Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha
The Jadwiga simply glowers at the man, her stare though is ice cold.
Aid Another, Intimidate: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
Malena Omoroi
Malena walks forward to the stand. She's dressed differently from yesterday. No longer in her entertainer's outfit, she's now in leather armor, with a shortsword at her side and a shortbow on her back. She has realized that given what's going on right now and the people she's hanging out with, she needs to be more prepared for action....
Seeing Lyssa intimidating the patron of the stand, she winces, wondering if a less agressive approach might have worked better. Rather than interfere, though, she walks up to the merchant and quietly asks him, "What's going on here?"
GM Chyro
The man looks at Lyssa's yelling, but his cocky arrogant composure doesn't show any sign of being impressed.
"Who are you to judge me? I happen to be a very important researcher and i absolutely MUST have the things i need, by tomorrow at the latest and..."
As the silent lady comes up he does cease his ranting and seems to be thinking over what to do.
Malena on the other hands comes up and he focuses on her instead.
"What's going on? Ingredients, materials, fabrics! This city is supposed to have them all every day, this is the great merchant city isn't it? These people claim they're out of stock! It is absolutely vital."
Malena
By the quick ranting and the way this man's eyes look, one might think he's a tad paranoid. Who knows.....
"Pah, i've wasted enough time. Someone in this famed city should have what i need."
His posture would suggest he indeed wishes to leave.
Perception 10
A figure in a hood and casual wide fitting clothing stands motionless a few meters away from the man.
Perception 15 Edit:
The figure is approximally 2 heads above the man in height (totals approx 6ft 8')and as broad shouldered as Grint, maybe broader by half a foot.
Edit: the figure's face can't be seen, some fabric is wrapped from below the position of the eyes.
Down a street you can see 2 guards on patrol.
Decisions, decisions......take your pick.
Grint Mavric
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Grint ntoices the man in white clothing standing close to them and glances at him.
Hmm.. loose-fitting clothing, broad-shouldered. Isn't that the same sort of outfit Lyssa could wear?
Something screams monk about him.
"Sorry if I ask, but what kind of materials do you need and what do you need them for?"
Grint asks the slightly agitated man.
Lyssa Kail
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
"And what are you looking at?!" Lyssa sneers at the hooded man.
As she turns back to the researcher Lyssa glares at him. "You pick that object up first, and pay for it if it's broken. You do that, and I'll see if I can help you find what you need."
Is the broad man wearing a monk outfit? Lyssa's by the way still wearing the dress instead of her monk outfit. If he's a monk he may recognize her ribbon to actually be her sashes, but he may as well not notice it.
GM Chyro
You're still wearing the dress? You may fight wearing it, but it's a waste of hard work, aside from the -2 attack roll and -4 dex i'd give for fighting in such a tight piece of clothing. Mind you, making high kicks in a dress is...revealing, to the public.
The figure doesn't make the slightest movement, neither does he respond to Lyssa's harsh tone.
Aside from a low quality pants and what seem to be a sort of boots, he's wearing something like this, along with a fibre covering his face from below the eyes, which aren't visible enough with the hood pulled over his face.
Again the raving man stays silent for a moment, also ignoring Grint.
He does pick up the object, which seems to be a stuffed animal.
"I'm done here, i've no time."
Lyssa Kail
I wasn't aware of any penalties for Lyssa's dress. If that's the case Lyssa's wearing her monk outfit. I thought the dress was just a flavor item.
"Okay, bye-bye," Lyssa replies, content with the man picking up the stuffed animal (and placing it back, I assume).
Sabel Ea'tari
perception: 1d20 ⇒ 7
"What was that all about? Rude people nowadays. So what were we doing here again?"
Indeed assuming that he puts it back
Grint Mavric
Guessing this is the man that bothers all the merchants in town.
Grint nudges Sabel, then makes a motion to the man as he turns his back.
"I guess that he is the one that is harassing the merchants around Kharum. If he is so polite to every one of them I can imagine the merchants want him out of town." He whispers to her, quiet as not to alert the man himself.
Sabel Ea'tari
Sabel starts at Grint's poke.
Jeez getting all touchy!
"You might be right, he looks like an ass. How shall we go about this? I could cast fear on him to scare him a bit."
GM Chyro
The man was about to walk away when Lyssa shouts again.
With a sudden motion he jerks his head around.
"I wasn't looking at you, who wants to look at you? With your loud mouth and rude manners. Even "offering" help and then neglecting such...really what are people coming to these days."
"I'm out of here."
Grint Mavric
"It might be that he is really looking for something unobtainable here. He's probably not gonna stop harassing the merchants until he has found it. Either we convince him that we'll look for it here, or convince him that it's not to be found here and he should move on."
Grint looks puzzled for a moment. "As he's not going to tell us what he is looking for, better ask the merchant he complained to."
With that Grint walks up to the mercahtn and asks him as to what the odd man wanted from him.
"Sorry about that man, hopefully not all your clients are like that. Might I ask what he was looking for that he couldn't find?"
Malena Omoroi
Malena watches the man stalk off. "Something's not right about him," she says quietly.
She looks at the broad man wearing the face-covering wrap. Is he still there? Has he moved? Does he make any moves?
Sense Motive (Versatile Perf-Oratory): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
GM Chyro
The merchant looks at Grint after a sigh of relief now that the alchemist is gone.
"He was looking for simple things actually. I sell merchandise for entertainers and children. Oh yes, there's a modest market for that as well. I sell stuffed animals, bard instruments, candy. He seemed particularly interested in the latter. He paid for some, feeling the consistency, even unwrapping and chewing. He demanded to know where he could find the jelly mixture for them. He hardly struck me as a candy merchant."
Malena, nothing comes off the figure. Motionless until:
"Come on, we're leaving, before this rabble delays us any further."
The figure then moves, following the alchemist, drawing some attention from the crowd, who are a good 2 heads smaller.
Lyssa Kail
"Shall we follow them?" Lyssa whispers, "If he's the guy we're after, we'll have to do something about him... Perhaps we can help him, or otherwise we'll have to find a way to make him leave town..."
Malena Omoroi
Malena nods. "Yes, let's follow. Especially since that alchemist was asking about candy... that's suspicious, given what we saw yesterday."
Malena tries to lead the rest of the group after the tall figure. It shouldn't be too hard, given how prominent he is. (If he maintains his current form, that is....)
GM Chyro
If you wish to follow him, someone roll me 3 Stealth checks please.
DC 15 to beat.
(Hint, since it is still the 3rd day of the festival, the streets are getting quite *busy/crowded* again)
GM roll
1d3 ⇒ 3
Lyssa Kail
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 6 + 2 = 21
Stealth: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 2 = 12
Lyssa follows the two men with remarkable stealth, until another man exits an alley and nearly bumps into her.
"You dimwit!" Lyssa hisses, quite sure the two men did just notice her tailing them.
Don't look behind me... It's just me, there's no one else following you...
GM Chyro
The GM roll is in your favor.
Lyssa makes a smooth way through the masses for the others to follow.
The 2 you are following are too busy getting through the crowd they don't notice Lyssa.
Lyssa however, had bumped into 2 patrolling city guards.
"Hey now, where are you heading, sneaking like that?"
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
The other recognizes Lyssa and the others.
"I've got a feeling they're on to something. Anything you want to report or help with?"
GM Chyro
The two figures aren't difficult to keep track of.
The short "chase" has led you through some back alleys unoccupied at those moments by the guards.
The two stop at a inconspicuous looking house. After a knock a bar slides open. You are about 30ft away in the shadows, not noticed yet.
Perception 18
Password?
<Dosage>..
Ok, come in.
You may move 10 ft closer to lower DC to 15, but if you do you roll a d2, on a 1 you are noticed.
Sabel Ea'tari
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Sabel whispers to the others.
"I think they knocked a tune on the door! Shall we try that? I think it was fast fast break fast fast break slow slow. Would be too easy don't you guys think?"
Lyssa Kail
Giving the guards no other reply than a glare, Lyssa continues to follow the two men.
Aid Sabel, Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
"It wasn't a tune, I think." Lyssa relays what she perceived, and hopefully Sabel can figure out what exactly happened.
This could also work? :) Or else the others are hopefully more perceptive.
GM Chyro
This would be a solo roll each. Unless you're bringing something to increase another's hearing. As i said, you may go for the DC 15, but announce you do so and roll a 1d2.
Grint Mavric
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
"If you say so Malena, I'll trust your judgment. Only thing now is, what do we do once we're inside? Do we go in armed and dangerous or do we try to blend in and search those two men? See a little what's going on in there."
Sabel Ea'tari
"I think we should not go full attack, let's figure out what they want first."
Sabel starts moving towards the door wanting to try her knock.
"You guys coming?"
Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha
Not wanting anyone to think she less than they, the Jadwiga saunters toward the door Indeed.
GM Chyro
Lyssa, it's no option for Aid other here ;).
So much for quitet negotiations.
The little slide in the door opens.
"Hmpf, you're awfully noisy and why aren't you in your working clothes?"
A thuggish man opens the door....
The hall is 10ft wide, any specific order on who enters how?
Grint Mavric
So much for the patience of monks ^^ I think our entering depends on how inquisitive the man at the door is. Grint can't convincingly tell a lie and none of us are in our 'working clothes'
Malena Omoroi
Malena comes forward next to Lyssa, and says, "We're not in working clothes because we're keeping a low profile."
She looks around, and then says, "So, what's the news? What's going on?"
Bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
GM Chyro
As the man opens a *bam*, like a door or window shutter can be heard.
Map up. Light brown are wooden doors.
Position yourselves as you would enter.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
"The office is to the left, someone will be here shortly."
GM Chyro
Map redone for your convenience.
At the house
Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha
My only experience with ditzie was not pleasant, you have to save the file and repost it EVERY time you make an edit. So if any of us move things, we have to hit the spacebar to save it and then post the link here. I was always looking at old maps and getting confused.
GM Chyro
The saving was with "return", but google docs isn't quite working with me this was the alternative. But if you happen to know of another user friendly way for it, i'm all ears.
Jadwiga Elsa Harcatha
You know I'm partial to google docs, but the best way to do it imho is to have you and only you move things around. That way we go to your link for the current map to help us decide actions. We post actions and then you alter the map as needed.
Lyssa Kail
Lyssa gives the man a warm smile, then gives him a stunning punch in his guts.
Stunning Fist: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 = 24 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Confirm Crit: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 1 = 14 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
If this doesn't drop him, I hope it'll at least keep him quiet until I can drop him...
If the man drops, Lyssa will try to catch his body before he hits the floor.
Fort DC 15, or be stunned until just before my next turn: A stunned character drops everything held, can’t take actions, loses any Dexterity bonus to AC, and takes a –2 penalty to AC.
Sabel Ea'tari
Sabel looks shocked at Lyssa punching the man who let them enter.
"What'd you do that for?! That was uncalled for!"
She quickly looks around to see if anyone saw them or if anything is noticeable.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 8
