Dorla
not my turn quite yet, but I'm off to the pool with my kids for a while. When it is Dorla's turn:
Dorla flies if necessary to be within 10 ft of a target. Then she throws a vial of alkali again.
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21
roll for damage:
1d6 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
double damage, so 24 damage.
splash damage also to anyone close enough.
Rynjin
Ugash splatters another ooze, though it begins reforming again.
An ooze misses Thetsu.
Dorla splashes Alkali on the oozes, Thetsu, and Ugash.
The ooze nimbly avoids the worst of the splash, but it's too late for his friend who is dissolved by the strong Alkali.
Thetsu and Ugash are up again, Ooze islast.
Thetsu
Flurry: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17
Damage 1: 1d10 + 19 ⇒ (9) + 19 = 28
Attack 1: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24
Damage 2: 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24
Attack 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Damage 3: 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21
Thetsu pounds the Ooze into nothing!
Dorla
Now that the last ooze is gone, Dorla glides to the ground near the others. Sorry I couldn't damage the ooze without hurting you guys, too. Do you still have the healing infusions I gave you earlier?
Hearing the sounds of battle end and sensing that Dorla landed, Chirrup peaks out of her bag. Why won't you let me help? Even the monkey got to fight! his little voice complains.
Dorla sighs. Chirrup, Thetsu killed several of the oozes. He's a trained monk. You're just a little clockwork dragon. I don't want you to get hurt.
Dorla also tells Thetsu I'm sorry if I was too hard on you earlier. I don't want to have to put you back together again like when we first met. What kind of big sister would I be if I didn't worry and try to keep you safe? As she speaks, she ruffles the hair on the back of Thetsu's head affectionately.
Chirrup climbs out of the bag and sits on Dorla's shoulder, choosing the side further from Thetsu.
Thetsu
Thetsu shudders slightly as he throws off The Red Haze. Once his vision refocuses he replies to his companions.
"Sorry 'bout helping you with the ooze Ugash. Once I'm in the thick of it, I'm not really paying attention to...anything really. My Master, his colleagues and disciples train to attain a form of mental clarity through anger. This pure mental state excludes most rational thought down to "Can I take him?" and "These are the enemy and these are my friends." The upside is increased strength and reflexes."
"And don't worry about it Dorla. I know it's just you showing you care."
"Now lets find those parts!"
Ugash
NEvermind monkey boy...- Ugash keep looking for any other danger, tries to recover his missing finger and looks for any usable piece of machinery.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
craft (tech?): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23
knowledge (Eng): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32
UTD: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
Rynjin
Ugash begins sorting through the pile of junk. Unfortunately, he can't actually find any vehicle parts besides the chassis (visible even at a glance from up above) in the garbage pile.
Keeping the other rolls for later, however.
Dorla
perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
craft machinery: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (6) + 20 = 26
knowledge engineering: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (13) + 18 = 31
use tech device: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33
Chirrup's perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26
Chirrup is a clockwork familiar, and does give bonuses to craft feats, and has intelligence of 10, so I didn't know if he might notice something helpful.
Rynjin
Dorla and Thetsu manage to ferret out a great deal of other parts, and lay them on the ground of the cave.
Dorla and Ugash then begin separating the wheat from the chaff.
It takes a great deal of time (approximately 6 hours), but you manage to find all the parts you need. A simple chassis, four wheels, four tires, a basic Steam Engine, a transmission and steering wheel, and several other parts.
Now you just need to get them back up top, and begin assembly.
A note on fuel, I will allow Dorla to use her Bombs as a quick source of fire to generate Steam. One Bomb for an hour of travel.
Dorla
Can I carry a heavy load while flying? And does ant haul work with fly? If so, which of the parts are less that 525 lb?
What about bull's strength? Can this add to my carrying capacity, which ant haul then triples, and then I fly with it? If the answer to all these is yes, then I can carry 900 lb up at a time. I assume that's at least almost all the parts
Dorla
OK, then Dorla makes extracts of bull's strength and fly. She them and flys up to the edge of the pit. She leaves most of her gear there, with Chirrup having instructions to watch them and let her know if anyone is approaching. (Chirrup sits on the pile of gear) She leaves her armor on, however. She then starts carrying stuff up, starting with the heaviest load she can manage. The potions last 8 minutes, except for ant haul which lasts for several hours.
detailed stats to determine how this works:
strength after bull's strength is 18. Ant haul triples carrying capacity, so now capacity is 300 lb for light, 600 lb for medium, and 900 lb for heavy, with armor weighing 10 lb. At least the lighter, smaller items she can carry several in a trip.
Of course, if anyone else helps, it takes less time, I'm just not sure they can climb with things in their hands.
Rynjin
I'm getting conflicting responses...is Dorla staying behind alone?
Dorla, your Ant Haul lasts 16 hours (Just like OLD SPICE ODOR BLOCKER BODYWASH HUUUUUUU. Sorry.) so carrying the stuff shouldn't be an issue.
Thetsu
Thetsu pounds back his infusion of Ant Haul and starts hauling the scrap.
I can carry 1,200 lbs worth and I'll hustle the whole way back.
Rynjin
The crew piles everything up on Ugash and then saunter back to town, leaving him to stagger under the weight.
=p
You reach town just as night falls, and already you hear a howling in the distance, but far enough away you need not worry just yet.
You have any plans for where to stay tonight? The saloon has rooms...though it might be cleaner to stay outside.
Rynjin
The buildings are made mostly of thick wood timbers covered in plates of tin and scrap metal, almost armored. Plus, the monsters generally don't attack the buildings.
You camp out, keeping a watch.
I'm assuming Thetsu takes first watch, Ugash takes second watch, and Dorla takes last watch (Thetsu's low-light vision helping before it gets really dark, Ugash's Darkvision then taking over, and Dorla coming up right before dawn). Sound good?
All is fairly quiet for the first couple of hours, until Thetsu hears a snarling, and a very human sounding grunt of exertion.
And everything was going so well. You were wandering, little bothered by the heat and scarcity of food and water because of your Elan abilities, and quite enjoying the walk.
You saw the village on the horizon, and started heading towards it, so far unmolested. Until you hit a path. You got about 100 feet down it (maybe 120 from the village) when a large, armored, vaguely dog-like creature attacked you.
Kn. Dungeoneering applies.
It lunged at you, though you managed to throw it off, and now you circle each other, each waiting for an opening.
Roll Initiative.
Donovan Egoblade
Initiative is the kind of thing that you should roll. I suggest you do it in alphabetical order. It'd also be cool if you added the initiative order, current turn and round count on the campaign info. Not necessary for this encounter, though, as there are only 2 combatants.
Also, for all the love of Shao Khan! Update the turn order of Myrial - City of Rogues! That thing has been bothering me for months!
Init: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Thetsu
"Oi! Someone alright out there?" Thetsu says, getting up from his meditative position whilst stowing the loaf of bread he'd been slowly chipping away at for the past week.
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Donovan Egoblade
"Well... This is new...
Donovan steps forward and attacks it with a semi-translucent wakizashi that suddenly materializes in his hand.
Wakizashi: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23 damage: 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Wakizashi: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20 damage: 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Rynjin
Donovan's wakizashi bites into the armored hide of the creature twice. It bellows in pain, flapping open its four-directioned mouth.
Donovan (18)
Thetsu (18)
Ugash (17)
Skag (15)
Dorla (10)
Thetsu is up, the sound appears to be coming from somewhere abut 180 feet away.
Rynjin
Thetsu moves with blinding speed, coming to a stop when he sees the fighting.
A large, armored creature unging at a man wielding a faintly glowing weapon.
Bite: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 13
Slam: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
The creature opens its maw and bites at Donovan, but his edgeego blade blocks the strike.
Unfortunately, it leaves him open to being slammed by the thing, it headbutting him after backing off for a split second.
Damage: 1d8 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19
Take 19 damage.
Going to assume Dorla gets up and moves closer. So Donovan again.
