As far as normal catfolk go, the dominant submissive relationship is more common than in humans because of their latent animal instincts, but it isn't the complete norm.

The only problem is that Dave wants those around him that he considers "his" to be happy
Who says this doesn't make me happy? :P
Tybalt Baneko
Masochism isn't the same thing.
That's liking pain.
He's doing this because he's happy when Dave is happy and he thought that Dave would like being served.

Dave (also Arthur, but not Chao, haven't decided on Lucas, and grim) is (are) what's known as an ethical/enlightened hedonist
Ethical hedonism is the idea that all people have the right to do everything in their power to achieve the greatest amount of pleasure possible to them. It is also the idea that every person's pleasure should far surpass their amount of pain.
(To find the definition of enlightened hedonism, follow the link)

I agree with you both. It really does come across that Tybalt would be willing to suffer and be unhappy, if it somehow made David happy. You even go so far as to say that practically.
However, I do not think its true masochism. One could make the argument, based on various different things, that Tybalt lacks a real sense of identity of who he is, and thus becomes whatever he perceives people need him to be. Which is incredibly unhealthy, psychologically.
Tybalt Baneko
I wouldn't go quite that far.
True, a good part of his is making sure other people are happy and for the most important people, them being happy comes before his, but them being happy is why he is happy.
He does have a personality. Making people happy is just a big part of it. ^_^

I know that you're just trying to be funny, and I don't mean to be touchy about this and I'm sorry if this is rude, but I'm sorry, I do find this a little offensive. >:/
Lighten up kitty-cat, as you said just goshing.
PS
I have to say I love the "Ghost" movie guy twist action going with T and D, you know I read it and could hear that unchained music playing
:-}

I don't think I've ever seen Ghost. :/
I don't really know what you're getting at. :/

I think things are going OK so far, Mel...
Hopefully you can take the icecream off standby. :P

ok, cause I was totally ready to Ship Mel and Tybs together
on another note I just found out I qualify to receive the Cold War Victory Medal for my submarine service. but I don't know if its worth it now. they want to charge me $30 for the actual medal and ribbon. I still get the certificate from Congress for free though.

I don't think they're taking anyone else.
My boss is actually doing my mom a favor by letting me do this. :/Sorry. :(

Carl, I think the beer in the cafe is non-alc. It just simulates it to keep the dwarves going.
It wouldn't be too big of a jump to say he has his own, though.
magic: It been established the wards work at the moment of consumption not before. So its real beer but when you drink inside the words the alcohol is removed when you try to drink it.
lot of medical and other stuff will not work it the wards just removed all alcohol, flambe-cooking for one etc.

that's fine
Let me know if the situation changesI'm job hunting this summer, and I have an interview lined up for the day after tomorrow, but I'm told the job (while decently well paying) sucks

OK, before this starts to be a "wast of time debate",
for Lynora and others let me be clear,
"synthetic beer for the dwarves"
Errr... I would say No so many Dweorg cultural, religious and Clan levels, bit like saying the wards make everyone have synthetic sex for a Dweorg .
"At moment of consumption removal" works just as well in my book.
Carl Ironfist Prometheus.
Magic it came over a wee bit racist when you only said.
"synthetic beer for the dwarves"
but as LF2 now says,
"People smuggle in alcohol"
Carl would say OOC of couse
"Now ya got my attention ladee, money to be made from a wee bit of smuggling, "synthetic beer" may be not so bad if its making a market."
hummm
:-)

Um. Actually no Carl, we wouldn't.
Ya see, the vast majority of those at the school are kids. Teens and younger. Most don't drink, period.
Those who do, either stop(like Ace) or drink outside the wards(The poker playing dude, can't remember his name, think he's a student)
I personally know of no faculty off the top of my head that drinks or other adult NPCs for that matter. They might, but I can't recall them.
In other words, its not really a big deal, and has barely come up in game.
What you could do, instead of getting all offended and trying to cause problems when Lyn clearly asked for that to not happen, is just say Carl got a 24 pack from his personal stash on his ship. Plain, simple, easy and causes no problems in any way, shape or form.
