Welcome, players! You are soon to embark on what could be an epic journey.
I've gone over everybody's posted character sheets, and have some comments on them.
Nareth: You are missing 1 language. Your Knowledge(Religion) and Spellcraft should be +5 (+1 rank, +3 class skill, +1 Intelligence). Your attack bonus with the spiked chain should be +5 (+3 Str, +1 weapon focus, +1 BaB with sacred weapon).
Lorenzo: I'm going to have to disallow the Master Performer (Kitharodian Academy) feat, as it doesn't make sense for your character to maintain the knowledge and abilities that kind of feat implies.
Alec: Your sheet looks good.
Robert De Sanduin: You'll need to fill out your gear. Don't forget to prepare 3 cantrips. If you plan on keeping your rat familiar within arms reach, don't forget the bonuses from Alertness.

Gameplay Thread created. Feel free to introduce your characters to each other there while we hammer out finalizing characters in this thread.

Fair enough. Will I be able to pick it up at higher level or shall I make other plans for my feat progression?
Will swap my feats around somewhat then, probably going Weapon Finesse and Arcane Strike.

Nareth I'grada |

Thanks so much, can't wait to get started!
Ah that all stems from one change. I originally created Nareth with 10 INT but I bumped it up so I could qualify for combat expertise. Changes have been made.

Plan on taking a different feat, I think. That style feat doesn't really fit with this campaign, I think.

Care for a standard stats line alientude?

Alec Jadder |

I mean, do you want to state any example for us to use?

Alec Jadder |

The loot tracking sheet is ready. Personally, I use it to keep track of my money and encumbrance, and you can do the same if you want it. There are rows for each of us to the right, but the rest of the sheet has some formula so please don't edit it unless you know what you're doing. Otherwise you may fill and use your columns as you wish.
If you need a hand with anything on it (including to understand things) just say so.

Alec Jadder |

You're too kind.

GM alientude |

We should figure out some standards for the group. I'm guessing the order you left Haven will be your marching order - Alec, Lorenzo, Robert, Nareth.
For combat, initiative will be rolled using the average bonus for the party and for monsters. When it's the party's turn to act, you act in the order you post.
When posting your combat actions, please include all available AoO rolls in a spoiler at the end of the post, so I can use those if needed.
24 hours of no post in combat means your character will be DM PC'd for you that round. Weekends are excluded from this. While I can generally find time to post on the weekend, I know not everybody can, and I won't require it.
Any special tactics you want as standard fare for the party, please discuss and come to a consensus.
Suggestions welcome.

Alec Jadder |

Agreed. I can post several times a day, but a little less on weekends. I'll also be on a road trip on January 2nd, so I might be away that day.
I don't have any tactics in mind right now, but I do believe they will come as the party get to know each other.
If I forget to post the AoO please remind me.

Alec Jadder |

I don't need and can't cast/hold a light, but the spell is useful when creating a focus for our enemies, and it seems I'm the tanker, so I see no problem if anyone casts it on me (shield).

GM alientude |

Some standards I just thought of that would really be helpful:
In the situation I just posted (that of a hallway that continues past a door in it), what would you do? Stop at the door, or continue down the hall?
Are you planning on looking for traps while moving through halls? At doors? In rooms? etc.

Alec Jadder |

Alec plans on tanking the traps, not finding them, but eventually a close inspection at some places is necessary, so I'll waste time taking 20 on perception. The dwarf will not open a door unless they have some protection from other directions as well.

Alec Jadder |

TRAVEL NOTE: I'll be on the road tomorrow, returning to regular posting at night. Please bot me if necessary.

GM alientude |

Please don't forget to add any available AoO's at the bottom of your combat posts. A spoiler, like below, works perfectly:
#1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 damage.
#2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 damage.

Also, if you don't mind my weighing in on the whip thing, I'm pretty sure Lorenzo isn't proficient with the weapon period.
Bards are proficient with THE whip, not all whips. Since he's proficient with THE whip, he could potentially pick up a Scorpion Whip and flick it around like he would a normal whip (no lethal damage, no threatening, disarm, trip, and the reach). However, since the Scorpion Whip is it's own exotic weapon, you'd need to learn how to use it properly, via Exotic Weapon Proficiency. After that, you could take advantage of it's specific benefits over the normal whip.
Anyway, that's just my two cents.

Lorenzo "Fates Favored" Florent |

The dashing Lorenzo now wields a true gentlemen's weapon; a rapier.
Also, if you don't mind my weighing in on the whip thing, I'm pretty sure Lorenzo isn't proficient with the weapon period.
There is a whole armada of different interpretations around the weapon; including differing opinions from SKR and James Jacobs.
Its no big deal. I'll just avoid the whole dubious thing.

Nareth I'grada |

It deals lethal damage, even to creatures with armor bonuses. If you are proficient with whips, you can use a scorpion whip as a whip.
Also, IMHO, it's not a particularly dangerous weapon. It has a fair bit of versatility and is cool thematically, but it's not like somebody trying to pick up a katana or an elven curveblade for free.

Alec Jadder |

Whips are broken ^_^
But the Pain Taster prestige Class is fun/weird.

Alec Jadder |

I'm just in the beginning of the Medium emcumbrance, so I can carry a lot of stuff, for now.
MW Light Mace - Nareth
Scale Mail 1 - Alec
Holy Symbol of Asmodeus 1 - I'mma throw this away at the latrine, ok?
Cooper Coins 7 - Alec
Green Gemstone found on the bathroom - anyone carrying?
By the way, we have plenty of time, so, could anyone set up a "check up procedure" with found items? Detecting magic and identifying and whatever....

Lorenzo "Fates Favored" Florent |

As the only person with weapon finesse i'd quite fancy the light mace to be honest.
Lorenzo's near the edge of his light encumbrance and may have to load up the local pack=mule Dwarf.

Alec Jadder |

You two decide whoever is holding the mace, or you may say you will stay with it (buy). Just decide already.

Lorenzo "Fates Favored" Florent |

I assume we'll eventually credit loot shares to people. I'd like to take it out of Lorenzo's. If Nareth has equal desire we can just roll a dice on it.

Robert de Sanduin |

Besides the scroll of detect magic Robert has in his inventory, which I plan on adding to my spellbook as soon as we get back to Haven, I've got no way of detecting the magics. So for now, I'm going to have to take a back seat on the whole detection/identification.
I can still roll knowledge arcana and spellcraft checks though.

Alec Jadder |

That's exactly what the sheet is for. You will "buy" it from the loot, for half the price. If later you want to get rid of it you will sell it and lose no money.

Alec Jadder |

Minus the ones from your opposed schools. What about the Mace Nareth?

Alec Jadder |

75% of the group are casters, common!

Robert de Sanduin |

I figure, two options:
1. No one else can detect magic and I end up using two slots to prepare it.
2. Someone else can cast detect magic and I free up my slots for other, more useful things.
So, I have the scroll, and I am going to put it in my spellbook just in case, but it looks like I'm not going to NEED to prep it everyday.
