The final option is furious focus to eliminate the penalty to power attack for the first attack. Effectively gives a +2 to to hit and I believe it works with cleave. This is more optimal but I loose the bonus to disable device.

You trek your way out of the vault and enter the knot's heart, a bizarre winding maze of doors and impossible geometry. Feeling your spirits lifted by the weight of treasure and the satisfaction of a hard job done you begin to make your way back to the devil to finish off a loose end...when a cold mocking voice startles you.
"The Council sends it's regards."
Followed by a poisoned crossbow dart. It clatters to the wall next to Pollux's face with a shouted curse in infernal.
Rolled a 1. Bastards.
Bad guys
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Not so bad guys
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15 Caldazar
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 Trevor
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 Pollux
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 Tal
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 Petronicus
GOOD GUYS UP!
Area is dimly lit. The room is weird and difficult to make out clearly due to the planar distortions. When you go up you find youself circling back to where you were downwards. The pit below you appears to have no bottom, and you can't find the ceiling.
Tal Bernard Mainz
How far away from the crossbow dart user are we? or do we need a perception check to spot it?
TarkXT
If you have a light source you can see her despite the dim lighting. And the grid matches the distance. i.e. check the bloody map and there she will be across the pit from you.
Guess I should have said that you spot a black leather clad tiefling fumbling wiht a hand crossbow across the pit on the stairs above you. She's an intimidating looking tiefling with black smooth skin and eerie red light pouring out of her eyes and mouth.
Tal Bernard Mainz
When I clicked the link earlier it still had the last fight on it. My apologies.
Tal has an everburning torch on his shield sconce on his shield. Moving quickly to the other side of the tiefling flanking with Caldazar (Z,92). Dropping his shield as a free action Tal attempts to wrestle the tiefling to keep him from taking anymore shots at the party.
Grapple attempt 1d20 + 4 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 4 + 2 = 21
If successful, Screw the council. Hell I don't even know what council you are talking about but that doesn't really matter as you'll be dead soon anyways.and they will join you shortly once we find them out.
Tal Bernard Mainz
You said to try and pin her down. Next step is to shut her up.
Tal Bernard Mainz
Tal does have armor training as a tower shield fighter so he can move 30ft in medium armors. The difference is that while equipped with a tower shield I reduce armor check penalties by an additional 2-4depending on how you read the rules. Hero lab has it as 4 but I think it is incorrect myself.
Tal Bernard Mainz
Added it under traits and feats for fighter abilities for future reference. Sorry about that.
TarkXT
Crit her AoO
As tal bears in on her and snatches her up he feels a sharp sting and tingling sensation in his arm pit as a wicked looking dagger sinks in.
"No touching on the first date!"
Tal takes 11 damage and needs o make a fortitude save. Is he wielding a weapon at the moment? It's important to know before I can continue.
Caldazar

Not sure if it affected Tal's decision making process - but at the end of the tiefling's turn she didn't appear to be holding a dagger...
Tal Bernard Mainz
I went for th grapple assuming nothing in her hand but the light crossbow thus no AOO. No Tal does not have a weapon out as that incurs a penalty to the grapple check. Also she made this misfortune hex roll?
Fort save 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 +4 if Trevor's alchemical item applies that Tal took earlier
Assuming that she is still attacking and not trying to escape Tal will go for the pin.
1d20 + 8 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 8 + 5 = 27 Unless the fort save results in paralysis she is going to be in a world or hurt.
TarkXT
Better. She made her save.
In any case yeah she manages to pull a weapon and stab Tal in the armpit as planned but he manages to pin her.
Aaanddd we're jsut going to stop the combat there assuming Tal continues to pin her.
Snarling fiercely the would be assassin spits in Tal's face. Thankfully it's just regular non-infernal non-acidic or poisonous spit.
Tal Bernard Mainz
If that is ok with everyone. Tal will just keep her pinned and let those that wish to talk/interrogate to her do so. If she doesn't cooperate I am sure we can find a way to make her talk. Take it away Caldazar. Just let me know if Tal needs to apply a bit more pressure if she is not talking enough.
Alright Trevor, she is not gong anywhere, but she stabbed me good under the arm and I could use a bit of your healing touch to get me up to perfect health. After that I suggest we start ripping fingers off till she starts talking.

Trevor checks out Tal. Heal: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
I don't really approve of torture even though a good smiting is something I really appreciate. Besides, even if we do it hard enough to break her, she will just say whatever is needed to stop the pain. Magic is far more useful.
Tal Bernard Mainz
That is only if you don't know when the lies stop and the truth starts. Enough pain will bring the truth out soon enough. It always works.
When the %*&ch mentions his wife, Tal gives a nice firm squeeze to remind her who is in charge now but doesn't say anything to her directly.
If we are not interrogating her now then at least gag her and shut her up. If not give me the rope in my pack and I will do it.
Tal is really not in favor of torture either but using the threat to aid Caldazar to gain information.
Caldazar
Caldazar just shakes his head, gobsmacked at the stupidity involved in the words that have just been spoken. As Trevor fumbles to get rope and cloth, Caldazar simply steps forward and slams his morningstar into her head...
CDG (unless prevented by Tal): 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (6, 4) + 4 = 14 and Fort save DC 24 or die
Caldazar
Trevor - just give Caldazar the death note, he'll deal with it assuming we get out of here.
He plans to see it given to a kindly old priest of Abadar that liked selling little boys off to be hunted by nobles for sport. And if that avenue isn't available - he'll find another.
Caldazar turns to Trevor and raises an eyebrow, betraying a request for clarification before kneeling to sift through the fallen assassin's possessions and wiping the worst of the gore from his weapon on her clothing.
Detect magic and detect poison enhanced search
Trevor Culexis
I was about to suggest we slip that curse into her belongings and dump her into a cell here and thus take care of two problems at once. He hands the curse over. But if you have a better idea, go ahead.
I'll need to trawl through the past posts to see the details on the whole sell-thing.
Trevor Culexis
Plus damning the priest to hell/offing him won't solve the problem. Another 'guardian' will just get assigned. Fobbing it off on say the Mayor or one of those attendees of the play who were bouncing up and down screaming 'Diediediedie' would be more appropriate, since we were planning on sending the Otyugh-devil stomping through, consider this plan b
Tal Bernard Mainz
Tal is mildly surprised when Caldazar just executes the female tiefling, but gets over it quickly. Indeed, Tal is used to such actions by now and takes them in stride. If there was a chance to glean some useful information that may be one thing, but it was just as likely the information would be a red herring misleading them.
Trevor, I am down 11 points, do you want to use the wand and roll it or just mark off the charges that Tal needs and have me roll them for you in the future?
Tal Bernard Mainz
I like the caress and lily prefers soft hands with a few callouses. Not scarred and deformed. Besides if we take on a demon it will help to be at full hp.
Thanks for the healing touch Trevor. By the way if you run out of that healing wand, I picked one up off of Meraxilar before I left him at the dinner table earlier. I forgot about till now. Here you go.
TarkXT
Caldazar finds 4 vials of poison, 3 potions, her short sword (misdescribed as a dagger) is magical, as well as her leather armor. There's also a magical hat in her pack along with a bejeweled bust of asmodeus probably form the manor. Her hand crossbow is of excellent quality but is otherwise nonmagical.

That sounds like a wise course of action Trevor. Here you go Caldazar.
When he sees what Caldazar has found Tal lets out a low whistle. Not a bad little haul in and of itself. Well worth the risk to grapple her and prevent her from doing any more harm.
Unless 1 of the potions is a healing potion Tal will pass on the items. He has what he needs with the last haul.
Tal Bernard Mainz
Bring on the devil. Lets not leave here without everything cleared out as we don't know if we will ever be able to come back and it may prove helpful to us later.
I hate as a player to leave anything undone, but if the rest want to leave Tal will comply as he knows he cant do it by himself.
Caldazar
Trevor has physically seen Caldazar use healing wands already.
Let's see if we can ID the magic items and divvy up anything useful before we try the devil.

Nice job onthe rolls guys. That should identify al of them which should help against the demon. Tal does not plan on grappling this one though. He is just going for the kill as quickly as possible.
