GM Fez |

That is the only number you could have rolled to fail...Do you want to spend a folio reroll on it? If not consequences are below
Engulfed creatures are subject to the cube’s paralysis and acid, gain the pinned condition, are in danger of suffocating, and are trapped within its body until they are no longer pinned.
Paralysis Rounds: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 1) = 10 On a failed DC 20 Fortitude save
Acid Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Rand Fort!: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Order 3rd Round
Fethril
Technic League Initiate -11
Morka, James
Zentyr -24, gelatinous cube -42
Kelris, Kavor

![]() |

I'll use the reroll
Scythe Raging PA: 1d20 + 9 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 9 + 2 - 2 = 28 Damage: 2d4 + 9 + 6 ⇒ (1, 3) + 9 + 6 = 19

![]() |

Pretty confident that means James has taken out the Gelatinous Cube.
Kavor Doan casts Resist Energy (Electricity) on himself and walks into the building, drawing his axe.

![]() |

Kelris Trundles forward and up the stairs, with his new Larger body Kelris can hit the wizard from the top fo the stairs.
Swing: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 192d8 + 19 ⇒ (4, 1) + 19 = 24
I have 30' of movement, if you consider me squeezeing on the stairs I won't be able to make it to the top. Which is fine with me.

GM Fez |

James slashes through the cube as it tries to engulf him and Rand, leaving it in quivering swiftly dying pieces on the floor.
Kelris follows up with a charge up the stairs, attacking and bringing down the technic league member with one slash.
Order 4th Round
Fethril, Morka, James
Zentyr -24 [invisible],
Kelris, Kavor

![]() |

Fethril moves into the warehouse, keeping a close eye out for the enemy caster.
Readied Action (Can see Zentyr) Magic Missile (CL4): 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4) + 2 = 10
CL vs SR: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

![]() |

James moves forward, jello dripping off him and attacks the one that dropped the cube.
Scythe Raging PA IC: 1d20 + 9 + 2 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 9 + 2 - 2 + 2 = 30 Damage: 2d4 + 9 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 3) + 9 + 6 + 2 = 22

![]() |

Morka finishes his performance, "Eh? Where did he go?"
I don't think @James would get the +2/+2 bonus cause im finishing my performance, but it should be fine..
Morka closes both the doors behind them.

GM Fez |

I'll assume James has a readied action since Zentyr is invisible for all of .5 seconds.
The angry Kellid man reappears, poison dripping from daggers as he lunges for James. He is stopped by two magical bolts from Fethril popping him in the chest, followed by a nasty stab through what should be a heart from James. Combat over! You killed him with exact hp too. Congratulations.
Rand speaks up as everything dies down, face planted neatly on the floor with his arms bound to the chair. "Well, can I assume you folk are friendly?"

![]() |

"Yes, indeed."
The dwarf takes a dagger and cuts the ropes.
"Arvellos Rand, I presume? It seems the Technic League knew of the object that came into your possession. Do they know where it is now?
If they found out through torture or mind-magic, we need to know. And we need to know how long ago they found out. And if you heard anything about what they might do next."

GM Fez |

Rand assumes a cocksure attitude and a bit of a swagger. "I am indeed Arvellos Rand. They did not break me, despite their best efforts, though I am willing to tell you the story of how I acquired the object in question. I bought the book from a travelling Varisian bookseller in Eleder by the name of Sal Durivan—a guy who had no clue how much it was really worth. He said he was also on his way north to Nantambu, and I figured it’d be better for me to deliver the book here rather than risk someone here recognizing its worth before I could secure its safekeeping. Come to think of it, I haven’t seen Sal around town. I wonder if he ever made it, or if the Technic League got to him before they caught me. If they did, the League may still be able to piece things together and find the Lodge.
"Unfortunately, I learned nothing from my captors, bound and tortured as I was. There was a lot of shuffling of papers and clinking coming from upstairs though. Perhaps there is an answer above. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm just going to sit for a while until I can get up the strength to head to the lodge myself."

![]() |

Kelris Stomps over to the door and looks out to see if anyone else is coming.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
"I like this spell Fethril, Makes me smash things down faster." Kelris smiles at the now much smaller Elf.

![]() |

"It would seem that there is something to be said for the judicious application of brute force." Fethril climbs the staircase to investigate further.
Perception: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28

![]() |

James pats Rand on the shoulder and searches the rest of the lower warehouse and checks out the crates.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

GM Fez |

The crates contain parts, wires, and other things that appear to go into the construct guarding the place. There doesn't appear to be much of any value on the lower floor, but the Kellid that attacked has quite a bit of gear on him.
Above there is more of interest: several maps, lists of names, and reports from an ongoing investigation, as well as one of particular interest.
Arvellos Rand—Purchased book in Eleder for 50 gp. Thief from western Avistan. Rumored member of the Pathfinder Society.
Aya Allahe—Celestial half-blood. Access to limitless financial resources. Investigate relationship with Sharrowsmith’s Exports. Possible connection to Pathfinder Society.
Micky Threetoes—Suspected Aspis Consortium member. Group of thugs willing to smuggle nearly anything. Rumored in area. Investigate. Crossed out with the words: Currently in Bloodcove alongside
Sal Durivan—Possible alias of Scznari scum Malcolm Vandium, last known name associated with our property. Investigate.
On a shelf on the second story balcony, you also find a pair of technological marvels: pharmaceuticals called hype and cureall.
The technic league member that was throwing around lightning also has a full belt of equipment.

![]() |

"I think we should get back to the lodge and warn Aya Allahe. We have Arvellos safe, but if they have suspicions about Aya, we need to get to her first.
It looks from these notes like Sal is in Bloodcove. So we can't do anything for him."

![]() |

"James or I could use that ring, will help when we are in the thick of things." Kelris says as Fethril lists off the gear that has been found. "Yes Aya needs to be warned and protected, we have fixed the guardian but it might not be enough." Kelris says

![]() |

Excitedly, the mage flips though the formulae book. His grin quickly disappears. He frantically turns page after page. "These are all chemical interactions!" Slamming the book on the table, "They're useless!"
As I understand it, Alchemists can copy from spell books, but Wizards cannot copy from formulae book
Once again in a dour mood, Fethril scoops up the remaining gear. He hands the bag of spoils off to James. "I agree with the dwarf. Let us be on our way."

![]() |

Kavor Doan looks at the book. "I agree with the elf. Useless! But maybe somebody will pay money for it."

![]() |

"It may be useless to us, but it might be a treasure for someone else!" As Morka takes and pockets the formula book away in his pack. "We shall take this back to the society, perhaps the libraries there might find a use for it."
He takes whatever is left, that his party do not need, and is ready to continue.

![]() |

James gathers up all the gear and holds out the ring to Kelris, "Why don't you wear this for now."

GM Fez |

I should specify more, the words about being in Bloodcove are next to Micky Threetoes, not Sal.
Rand speaks up after hearing Kavor talking about Sal, "Actually Sal should still be here. Last I heard he set up shop in the Copper Buffalo." Getting back to the lodge with Rand in tow, you tell Aya about her name being on the list.
"Hmm. It appears I was not as discrete as I wanted to be if they have suspicions of interactions with your society. If you are truly worried for my protection it is possible to reactivate the other guardian with a precious black diamond harvested from mines beneath the Brazen Peaks. I have a list of jewelers that might have it right here."
Time since team's arrival: 4.5 hours

![]() |

"Oh yes, I am a merchant myself, and I might know some of these jewelers..."
Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
"Nope. Never heard of them."

![]() |

Kn Local: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
"Oh yeah, i think i passed one on my way while i was spreading all those rediculous rumors. Let me see..."
Is one of them on the list that Morka would recognise?

![]() |

Kavor Doan tries to chat up the merchants in the town, subtly inquiring about such an item.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14 Hmph.
His legendary dwarven charm is not any more of a good fit for this place than his vast mercantile knowledge.
He sighs and hopes he will have more luck in battle.

![]() |

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
Morka tries his best, but this time his best is not good enough. After the two hours is past, he go gets his comrades and takes them to the jewler.

![]() |

Local Untrained: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Kelris talks with some of the guards to see if they know anything about the Jewelers or where who best to buy from.

GM Fez |

Got it.
An hour of searching brings you to the only jeweler you've been able to verify has a diamond. The shop is a small clay brick building, one of the few in town with a permanent structure. From within come the sounds of a loud, one-sided discussion.
"You still owe 1,000 gold, Uzoma, you’ve had an extra week to pay up. Now where’s the money?"

![]() |

"Ah, a most common mercantile transaction. The shakedown. Shall we offer our assistance in resolving this dispute?"
Kavor Doan is ready to walk in with his axe at his side and not in his hands. On the chance he can talk down the threatening individual.
But will wait for another PC to weigh on.

![]() |

Kavor Doan activates his wand of Shield (now at 20 charges) and walks into the store.

![]() |

Kelris walks in as well a head of Fethril so as to take a blow if it comes to that and protect his friend. "What seems to be the issue here?" Kelris asks calmly

![]() |

"Oh yes! What a wonderful idea, Kavovr, Fethril! I love a good shakedown." The small halfling makes sure to get himself nice and proper before walking into the room, and after Kelris asks his question, he steps forward dramatically and points a finger at whoever he suspects Uzoma to be.
Perform Oratory: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30 ... to fascinate.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
"YEAH! UZOMA! Where's the money you owe him? And while you're at it, WHERE'S THE MONEY YOU OWE ME?" ... he waits for the room to go quiet and look in his direction, "No, seriously, now that i have all your attention, what is going on here?"

GM Fez |

Inside are two men standing next to cases of jewelry, a woman between them. One man has his club out, tapping it against his hand meaningfully. At Kelris' question they puff out their chests, saying, "This is none of your business foreigner."
Morka, other than Uzoma, who are you trying to fascinate? You've got one more target.
Will!: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Uzoma can't seem to pull her eyes away from Morka.

![]() |

Morka will fascinate Uzoma and which ever of the other men he deems as being 'larger' than the other. Honestly don't mind. Didn't realise there were three of them haha!
"Foreigner? Who are you talking to, the elf back there? I mean, isn't that a bit racist, don't you think?" He laughs a little, and then winks at Fethril, "Whatever business Uzoma is involved, is our business too! What is this? Some sort of protection agreement, or are you trying to bite off a little more than you can chew?"
He pauses for a movement, "How much does she owe ya?" As he bounces his coin purse in front of the assailant.

GM Fez |

Will!: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
Both men keep their eyes on Morka, scowling at his antics. The one continues tapping his club against his open hand. "1000 gold," he says with a sneer. "Are you going to pay off her debt?" he points with the club back towards Uzoma, who still can't take her eyes off of Morka.

![]() |

James steps up next to Morka and says to the one with the club while pointing with the business end of his scythe, "You weren't thinking of making him pay were you?"

![]() |

Kavor Doan steps up next to James, but does not draw his weapon at this time. "No, I think not. James, Kelris, maybe you two can explain to these gentlemen why it would be more profitable for them to just walk away now."

![]() |

Kelris taps the butt of his Halberd on the floor smiling at men. "Best to just leave now before we have to toss you out of here. I do mean toss, after you are laying unconscious on the floor."
Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20

![]() |

The dwarf claps Kelris on the back. "Your negotiation skills are, uh, straightforward and effective."
