Alright, this is Suthuri. Here is my Fey, menhir savant, travelling photographer. This is mostly all backstory at this point. I am going with the Irish-Gaellic mythology of the Tuatha Dé Danann. I linked that to the Bretonic Gauls and the Arthurian legend. ^^ The next thing I'll do is probably skills, and then the six levels of Menhir Savant, and Fey SLAs.
STR: 12
DEX: 13
CON: 14
INT: 12
WIS: 15
CHA: 14
So then, add to 2 to any stat for human racial mod:
STR: 12
DEX: 13
CON: 14
INT: 12
WIS: 17
CHA: 14
And then last I added the fey template which gives + 2 to cha and int, and + 4 to dex, and then - 2 to strength.
STR: 10
DEX: 17
CON: 14
INT: 14
WIS: 17
CHA: 16
This is quite a big boost with little penalty in exchange. The only other penalty is - 1 to all natural armor, which really doesn't affect my character, except maybe when she wild shapes. I'd be happy to add, perhaps, a - 2 to con or even - 4 to balance the stat boost that comes with the fey template. Please let me know if I am missing anything, or if you would like me to apply the template in regards to stats differently.

I think I am going to ask this, I am getting PMs where pos players are asking for a number of things for their PCs
This is the THE LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY PERSONS
I want players to list ONE and only ONE EXTRAORDINARY thing that thire PC dos, no more warewolf, witch, super smart computer hacker, pick one,
ether your a warewolf, witch or a super smart computer hacker, then build your PC around that one EXTRAORDINARY. I said at the start I will not pick PCs who don't need a party as they can do it all, that's no fun.Ask this, what is the EXTRAORDINARY thing my PC can do. Its really that simple. That then is the real you PC,
Alter Egos, I want all players to fit into normal world, so have and Alter ego, that you can use, I means to go on the street and not be shot or taken the moment you walk out the door. Not every player will need this for their PC but if you a freak by night best have a day suit that hides it.
hmm extrodiniary eh? Hmm he's a demolitions expert, that count? If it doesn't and he is allow the terror template his extrordinary thing could be that he is a being warped by the extra planar energy that man was not meant to tamper with, and he became a long lived being capable of making the strongest of men wet the self by thinking at them eg has a fear aura
As for an alter ego, this one just came to me as a possibilityAfter quitting the R&D firm, my character wanted to lay low but still be able to use his skills, not cutting into his little nest egg of savings so much helps
He works for a construction firms as a demolitions expert

A menhir savant can detect the presence of undead; fey; outsiders; and astral, ethereal, or incorporeal creatures. This ability functions like detect undead, and the druid detects all of these creatures rather than trying to detect one kind.
Fire Bolt (Sp) 6 / day ---
Ranged touch attack, 30 ft. 1d6 + 3 fire damage.
As a standard action, you can unleash a scorching bolt of divine fire from your outstretched hand. You can target any single foe within 30 feet as a ranged touch attack with this bolt of fire.
Place Magic (Su) 6 / day
A menhir savant learns to identify and tap into ley lines in different types of terrain. As a free action, she can tap into the magic of a nearby ley line and increase her caster level by +1 for 1 round. She can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + her Wisdom bonus.
Wild Shape (Su) 2 / day for 1 hour / level
At 6th level, a druid can use wild shape to change into a Large, Medium, Small or Tiny animal or a Small elemental. When taking the form of an animal, a druid's wild shape functions as beast shape II. When taking the form of an elemental, the druid's wild shape functions as elemental body I.
Resist Nature’s Lure (Ex) Passive; Constant
Starting at 4th level, a druid gains a +4 bonus on saving throws against the spell-like and supernatural abilities of fey. This bonus also applies to spells and effects that target plants, such as blight, entangle, spike growth, and warp wood.
Fire Resistance (Ex) Passive; Constant
At 6th level, you gain resist fire 10. This resistance increases to 20 at 12th level. At 20th level, you gain immunity to fire.

Human psion (telepath) with alchemically invisible template
well now, this is interesting, i quite like the premise :)
I have an idea that i am going to put forward. An Alchemically Invisible psion telepath (3 links).
A bit of Invisible Man, a bit of Professor X, a lot of conspirecy therorist.
Sill working on his story and angle in my head but here are a few basics.
He was originally a normal canadian, loved baseball, had a college degree lined up, bright future ect. But at the onset of his 20s he started getting headaches, hearing voices. He started seeing a psycietrist, then it turned into full blown telepathy. While he couldnt read minds, he could comunicate with willing people mentaly, and regardless of launguage. His psycriest referred him to a "friend," in actuality a government official for a secret intelegence agency. There his unique gift was highly valued and he recieved training and such to improve it.
He had a glaring weakness tho, aside from his sharp mind he was an ordinary human and his telepathy was short ranged. He had to stay close to the "hot spots" or "danger zones" to function at full effect.
To rectify this and improve his abilities as a communications and logistics hub, they sent him to and undergo an experemental procedure (ala Captian America) that was ment to improve his mental capacities and give him a form of adaptive camoflauge (still working on this bit. How he became invisible). It worked, but it also proved too great a sucess and he could no longer be seen.
Later his ability developed further, granting him true mind reading, this he kept a secret from the agency, but utilizing this he learned of what they had in store for him and he did not like it. On one of his "missions" he staged his own death and vanished. The agency now believes him to be dead and gone.
He has since lived his life in reletive secrecy, and far from the eyes of the government...
A pretty crappy backstory so far but it will be improved upon greatly and hopefully it gets the jist.
Game wise, he is invisible and hard to detect, preferring to communicate in thought-speech rather then out loud. His general ability for logistics and comunication would prove invaluable to a group even if his direct physical prowess is lacking.
Despite being invisible, he is far from undetectable. He wont show up on most cameras but infared cameras will see him clearly. Guard dogs can still smell him, you can still hear him if he makes a noise, metal detectors will still ping on any metal he has. Also, he still has to open doors and move things. He makes footprints and splashes in puddles, rain runs off of him.
Hes hard to detect, but far from impossible.
As for powers, he can communicate with others freely and can read minds, he can coordinate with people across distances or barriers and silently, and is quite good at gleaning information.
I imagine he would have a harder time with direct confrontations and if he ever goes down, it would be very difficult to locate him to help him.
Oh, he will also be a big consperacy theorist, largely because he himself is a consperacy and he can read minds, and some things scare him...
Thats what i got so far ^_^ will refine and improve it greatly with more time and sleep @__@

Changed a few things but i just want to make sure this is ok. My character was/is Alexander the Great before being turned by some ancient vampires, his death covered up ever since. He has traveled through India, China(where he became an assassin), Russia then Turkey and finally eastern europe in the last 1700 years.

Alexander, historically speaking, if you want to be an assassin, you would need to come from Persia as opposed to China. It was the basis for the cult of assassins until the fall of Alamut in the 1250s.
James Wasserman wrote a fairly interesting book on the topic which has a title that is escaping me at the moment.
Edit: after checking my library, it's called The Templars and the Assassins.

Hi guys, well after some great talks V PM with others, I have had a long thing and I am going to change the PC making rules just a little.
This I think will address some of the power and multi role problems that have come up. I know this may make you change some of your ideas, but I am hoping it will roll back the power levels I am seeing while focusing the PCs more on one aspect of their PM so I can make a mixed and matched team for game play
so
+++++++++++REVISED Character Generation RULES +++++++++++++++
Players this is the all new Character Generation RULES.
STATS: 23 point buy or roll 4d6x7 drop one roll set and lowest die per set, your call.
ALIMENT: ANY (yes you can be Evil, but to evil and your going to stand out. Getting court breaking laws bad.
LEVEL: Then you have 7 levels to spend, on Templates and CLASS Levels.
HP: Max HP per level (you will need it trust me)
*******************MAKING RULES*************************
Players will have to take one of three options.
One TEMPLE [MAX CR+2] and NPC classes Adept/Aristocrat/Commoner/Expert/Warrior with a magic item* that helps them pass for human, if they don't need it then a single magic item* I feel is fitting for that PC
OR
A MAGIC OR POWER USING CLASS and HUMAN Race +Spell book or Psycystal or other single magic item* I feel is fitting for the class and PC.
OR
NONE MAGIC/PSIONIC using CLASS and a Core/Featured Race with a magic item* that helps them pass for human, if they don't need it then a single magic item* I feel is fitting for that PC
*DM will pick magic item but it is free
*******************MAKING RULES*************************
CLASSES: All of Paizo and most 3PP is open to you on approval.
GUNS: Yes lots, modern, but this is the real world, get court with a gun on a plane and, well you get the idea. Cost as per d20 Modern
TECH: As world in 2007
AGE: The oldest you can be is 8000 years old, China, Egypt etc are open to you. But you don't have higher skills or stat's with age.
TRAITS: 3 + 1 more with a draw back but be warned I WILL make you play your drawback.

CONTACTS: List 2 contacts you have, name, location and relationship.
ENEMY: List one Enemy you have made, Name, location and why they are now your enemy.
Rules if its on http://www.d20pfsrd.com/ I can see it and work with it, Sorry no splat books that are not on there or 3.5 cross overs sorry.
Or in this case
http://www.d20modernpf.com/
Yes but a blended system, that uses some of the d20moder stuff but not classes for PCs.
1: http://www.d20modernpf.com/wealth-and-equipment/armor COST AS STATED
2: http://www.d20modernpf.com/wealth-and-equipment/weapons At the cost stated if your PC is from the USA, other places they it may cost a lot more.
3: http://www.d20modernpf.com/wealth-and-equipment/general-equipment COST AS STATED
4: http://www.d20modernpf.com/characters/talents YOU MAY USE ONE FEAT TO PICK ONE TALENT, ONCE ONLY AT 1ST LEVEL AND ONCE ONLY.
This is so we don't have to use http://www.d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/weapons/firearms/modern-firearms, as the names [WW1 stuff really!!] suck, I don't want to spend a load of time working out new ame mechanics,. Lets use what is out there and blend it with brains. Yes a Birret light 50 has a kill range of 2km and dos around 6d10 DMG but lets make it so you have a chance to live, see hero points.
Technological STUFF or SIFI stuff, NOPE, no cyber kit of laser fricking sharks
MAGIC/PSIONIC ITEMS
Every player can start with 1 Magic or Psionic item and no more.
IF they chouse not to they can have one more FEAT at 1st level in it place. If your a Spell books user, your spell book IS your magic item, if your a Divine caster your Holy Symbol and focus IS your magic item.
If your a Psionic PC you get physical affinity as a free feat. If you are a none human race, I will give your PC an item to help them pass as human or another I feel fits that PC.
NO item not even black blades are locked to a PC, you can and may lose them, same with Familiars, and Psicyatals, getting them back will be a lot harder then you think.
COST OF MAGIC AND PSIONIC ITEMS
1Gold = $20 so thats 20x the price as listed.
"HERO POINTS"
http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/other-rules/hero-points
YES my dear players, in a world full of nukes, head shot kills with Barret light 50', CCTV and the MEDIA, your are going to need a little bit of luck [Narrative Magic] to save your BUTTS, from the evil GM.Sso we will be using the HERO points sub rule set, so you have a "Save my a&& when the bomb go's off" time. You can take feats, spells and items to bust you HERO POINTS, but remember I like so very very much to make you spend them. MOUUUHAHAHAAHAH
Skills Pathfinder + d20modern
Necessary for the smooth operation of a modern genre.
These skills are in addition to the Pathfinder Role Playing Game core rules and can be used by any class.http://www.d20modernpf.com/characters/skills
STARTING CASH:UNDER REVIEW, but for now use, Roll 3d10 x5000$ savings, so you could have wealth or you could be poor.

My hope is they NEW outline will FIX some of the power level problems and get the kind of focus I am looking for in the PCs. This new outline I know will block some Archetypes and Race builds, sorry but its the price I think that has to be paid to get what I want for PCs. Psionic Races I will have to think about, as you will can have a Psionic race but will have to take a NONE Psionic class then it may not be worth your while.
Any Questions please ask them now.
| GM Pandorica |
Yes alchemist counts as a magic/power using classas it mimics magic spells with extracts
All PC can start play with ONE magic item, not two, but its a FREE magic now, The idea is then I will pick something to hide your temple or non human race. [if a PC dos no need it, you can get another kind of item picked by me or a feat at 1st level, as long as you have the prerequisites]
You can however take HUMAN core Race, none magic/power using class and then have a magic item that's NOT picked by me. But it will have to be agreed to by me so as to keep power levels even and the PC focused in a role with in the party.
| GM Pandorica |
You get NPC class levels if you take a template,
+1 or +2
So +6 pr +5 NPC levels [as linked] to get you to Level 7.
You can still do a lot with NPC levels and you get a few feats from levels etc so I feel there is room to get something from temples.
I am cutting back the power options with templates to even out the PCs Power level to something like the same. Some builds where getting a to the "Why do I need a party I can do it all" point. In this way your PC will be focused on a CLass/Race/or template not 2 to three at once.

Thanks for the new guidelines: that makes things much clearer.
I should probably have elaborated on my concept earlier.
The Laundry novels are about a world where magic is effectively a science, and large inroads have been made to using computers to automate particularly dangerous parts.
The main character, Bob Howard, is a computational demonologist.
While the Laundry itself is out of bounds (given that it is an occult intelligence arm of the UK government), I was planning on building a similar character from that world.
I'm actually hoping for 'realistic' hacking, not a supernaturally good hacker. I'm also expecting that in 2007 Hackers aren't exactly rare. I don't expect to be able to hack things like the NSA, but would be able to set up good security, target individual users, etc.
TLDR: Hacking isn't a superpower, it's a common skill.
I like going this way because it seems there are a number of people looking at playing casters, and the Information Occult Technology focus should be what makes my guy Extraordinary.

I think I will keep my backstory similar but change things up a bit then. I will rebuild him as below:
Warrior 6/Celestial-Blessed.
Story-wise, as he lay in his cell after a particularly brutal gene therapy session, he was visited by an angel, who said that it was moved by his suffering and was willing to offer him the chance to make amends for his actions during the war by entering his body and granting him it's strength "when the time was right". Agreeing, but assuming that it was a hallucination, he continued the treatment, where he responded only slightly to the treatment (it just made him immune to alcohol). After feeding him the story about it being a radical new treatment for alcoholism, he was released to be monitored (in case he showed changes that could be used). Receiving the letter within the day of being released, he was on the plane before he consciously realized that he had made a decision. Now he shares his body with an Astral Deva, a supernatural being of great power who has plans for him.

I'll roll for stats and then choose a character though at the minute I'm keen on a psychic warrior who's a marksman. Not an ex-military marksman just a preternaturally good shot. Was on track to representing the UK at archery in the olympics before coming to the realisation that they were *too* good and purposeful doped themselves to be disqualified. More to follow
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 5) = 11
4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 5, 5) = 17
4d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 3, 6) = 14
4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 5, 6) = 16
4d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 2) = 9
4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 2, 2) = 11
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 5, 1) = 13

It hurt to give up all of those wonderful fey spell-like abilities, but I am really attached to playing a menhir savant- especially in the modern world, so I am going human spell caster. I updated her character sheet for the most part, though I may need to fuss about her skills a little more.
My concept won't change that much. I think the many story change will be that Ramona is now a half-breed, half human, half Tuatha Dé Danann, rather than the last of her kind. That explains why she has their magic but not their full innate fey-ness. She is now a half-fey-tographer!
The Breton Fey clan of the Gaul menhirs were scattered with the rise of Christianity in Europe, and since then my lonely druid has been searching for her lost kin over the centuries, while also trying to remain hidden. She has tried many careers; however, photographer has worked out best. She remains behind the camera that way, and can travel without suspicion to continue searching for mystical places and others like her. This actually works out better, because it would mean she would almost certainly answer the letter that she would receive from Lady Rosa Luminass in hopes of meeting others like her- specifically fey.
It's sad to give up the template, but the character concept still works well, and better than before. So I am vying for the druid role; the fey template is therefore open for the taking. Please keep me in the running boss!

Another question are firearms martial or exotic or simple weapons?
I am of opinion pistols and shotguns are simple, rifles martial and anything bigger exotic?
Advanced fire arms are simple weapons, so basic revolver/pistol + hunting rifle + Pump or single Shotgun,
out side of that they are martial for SMG, auto shotgun then
if you want a Mini-cannon or RPGL its exotic.

Ha, rangers are considered magic using, wow,
So the ranger above can't be a lycanthrope
Trying to decide between my alchemist who apparently will be arrested just by caring his gun down the road,
Or someone who kills with his bare hands, the ultamamt in concealed weaponry! (monk 5/vetala vampire 2)
Even monk now?!!!?
So the only people who could have been around since magic was common..... Are those who have nothing even tangentially related to magic use and have no option to get such...

1) Walking with a gun down the street, well if we where to try that in London what do you think will happen? so yes concealed weaponry is key, concealing who you are and what you can do is key to survival.
2) Magic was and never has been common on our earth in my game, other realms yes, but come here and it fades. Its hard to find and hard to keep.
3) I made my rules on class, I have said why more then once. You want a magic using class then your human, its that simple. You want a template then its NPC classes and you want a none human race then its a none magic/Ki/power using class.
4) How ever some Temples and races come with magic. Fey, Half Demon, as template, and races like, Elf, Tifling etc, That is fine as I have fractured that in.
Now if you don't like my game rules, then by all means drop out, but I do not like constant criticism of them just because your not getting what YOU want. Take it as is or drop, but no more complaining and whining posts please. Is that understood.

Okay... getting there...
Decided to go for broke and take the obvious prestige class.
A few questions for the GM
(1) Souldrinker gets a Cacodaemon familiar. Is it at Souldrinker level or character level?
(2) Some spells have material components that might be problematic (like wisp essence). The Material Component Pouch says you can assume you have them. You playing it that way? I'm tossing up between Eldritch Researcher and Eschew Material Components.
(3) Given the character had a mentor prior to play, can he use the rules to buy & scribe additional spells... as otherwise there's no way to get a spell above second level.

I am also going to drop out. Not because I don't care for the creation rules but because I have been struggling with building my character. I was going to go with a middle aged wizard who works as a librarian. One of his contacts was going to be a FBI agent who knows what he is and sometimes has him "consult" on weird cases. His nemesis was going to be another FBI agent who doesn't know what he is but thinks he's a weirdo and wants to lock him up. Kind of a Harry Dresden type, but I have never built or played a Wizard before and I am having difficulty.
