Where's the fun in playing it safe?


I don't think falling to your death over what is a quite simple task is any fun either. It's not like you'll get a spectacular result from rolling high either.


Requiring consensus on every decision bogs down the game quite a bit. I think that once 2-3 people have stated that they are ready to move on we can just do so. Pbp is slow enough as it is, so finding a few tricks to speed it up makes for a much smoother exception for everyone. In this case three of us have posted that they are basically ready to move on...

@Zohreh: You should probably take one of the alchemist's fire. It's nice if everyone have something to throw at swarms if we do encounter them.

My apologies, but due to my continued poor health and personal reasons, I am going to withdraw from the game. I have already missed a week's worth of posting and it seems I may miss another 1-2 weeks because my health has not improved and I lack the energy to try to catch up on all the various games I am involved with as well as carry on with RL responsibilities. So, it is best that Lorn and Ravi leave now and head out of the tomb (being we haven't delved that deeply into the tomb/adventure) and onto their own adventure than try to continue on and lag further behind. It gives the group a chance to find a replacement adventurer for the party before too much has happened in game.

Just curious, but is anyone else getting an insecure warning when trying to login? Firefox apparently didn't like logging into the forums directly.

RE: experience, I'm assuming we're taking the total and dividing it evenly by the party count? Do we need to keep track of our own xp?

I had that problem too! Chrome was none the happier either. It happens when I try to post/preview sometimes, as well.

I think we probably have a strong enough group as is, but if others are interested in recruitment (based on that final list, we weren't hurting for choices!), fine with me. I'm good to stick with Zohreh.

Maybe Ravi gets sick and Lorn (and anyone who wants to swap out) has to take him back and nurse him?

I'm sorry to say so but ive just gotten nailed with a bunch of stuff myself work wise and I was kind of mostly playing because I haven't gotten to play with Lorn as a player for a long time so with her leaving and additional work, I think im bowing too. @Arasmes ibn'Fayad, Keerlorna "Lorn" of the Alijae - sorry to hear that. I had a post earlier for you Lorn but lost it to Paizo's site throwing errors on their certificate. Oh well, a lost opportunity for Princess Bride quotes.

@Remaining party - I'm ok with what the group wants. I could see a case for bringing in another person from the original list - mainly because folks put a lot of thought into their proposals and I'd hate for that to go to waste. That and adding at least a 5th might help the RP dynamic while filling that arcane slot.

Done. I have no issue with recruiting additional players, but I will leave it up to the remaining 4 players to decide if you want additional members. Just say yea or nay and I'll open it back up.

I personally prefer smaller party sizes. We already have some arcane coverage in Varisia. Most APs are made for 4 players, so would have to be adapted for more players. If you've already done those adaptions though I'm fine with seeking more players (or if the rest prefer to do so). Zariya's Encoraging Roar got a lot weaker when we all of a sudden lost 4 characters, that's for sure. Brining in more players might mean we won't have to seek more if anyone else leaves.

Could you include an experience tracker in the header? That would make things a lot easier. 300/2000 now, right? Or are we doing a different track? (1300?)

I'd say yea just so we have a real arcane monkey. I can do some of it but that high level arcane is oh so sweet.

Well so far we have had a medium size minotaur fighter and an unchained summoner propose characters.


People are not noticing the thread or not realizing the state the game is in. There was massive interest the first time around and we really haven't gotten all that far into the campaign itself. Either pming those who were interested the last time around or making a new thread could work. Though it might just be it started up at a bad time. More detailed description of where we at might help too.

I haven't looked into psychics too much, but as a 9 level psychic caster, it should fill the same role? I'm ok with it if we don't want to waste too much time finding a replacement. Although I have to question the tactics of taking color spray in what I believe to be an undead heavy AP ;)


None of those remaining have spellcraft (and detect magic) :(. I don't suppose we would be allowed to move skillpoints (if anyone want to ofc)? I think it's much more fun if we know what we find.

You should probably post your suggestion in the recruitment thread. What I meant was before we get anyone new. I realize we might get after, but that's still several days away.
