Jia Li |

Jia Li is a scarred Tien La woman. She is shy and watchful.
Jia Li's player, Ixos, is traveling at the moment, but will be more accessible come Monday.

Broken Prince |

Hey folks, delighted to be onboard, I'm just coming back into PBP after a hiatus due to travel, don't get a chance to play in RL after moving back to the UK so it's the next best thing. I should be able to post once a day or more with no problem.
My character Terwin is essentially a claustrophobic wizard with a great affinity for air and open spaces, he's cheerful and friendly, but has little experience of social interaction. He is accompanied by a sarcastic parrot familiar. I'll knock up a proper alias tonight.
@Seamus Greenbottle how do you plan to handle maps? I'm loving google drawing at the moment, lets players move their own characters which is great. And are you planning to split the group in two?

Orren Idleveil |

I'm out and about right now. I'll post more when I get back home. I'll buy equipment tonight or tomorrow.

Cyrus Melevin |

"Salutations! So it seems that some censure spiels citing speeches sinful, shameful. Scrupulous saintly supremacy scrutinize it as slander, slurs to submissive servant-subjects. Suffice to say I spit at charlatans, swindlers of civil support for scorning scandalous suggestion of the solution of self-sufficient, self-reliant sovereigns—separate, singular and sole selves. Sustaining in subterfuge, I suspect every soul surprising, every spirit cerebral, and shun servile slavery. Succor to sufferers, spurning surrender, my self is Cyrus. A pleasure to meet you all."
I am a player. This is my character. I like good food.

Terwin Thanderghast |

Oh, bugger, just realized I chose the same avatar as Camris, better swap it out before I post!
Okay changed it up, here's Terwin, a bit more dignified an avatar than I'd like, but he is supposed to be very tall and this pic fits that better.

Daren "Chance" Varkon |

I'm Michael, 33 yr old husband, father, and restaurant manager. I work odd hours and it isn't consistent, so some weeks I have LOTS of free time during days or evenings, and then the next it's often the opposite schedule. My wife is a gamer as well and we play PFS together, as well as a couple of a PBP and a home game.
Daren walks into the town of Sandpoint, his sword and bow strapped across his back. Blue eyes scan the town as he walks, his steps causing his chestnut hair to flit in the wind. He seems at ease within the walls, but as of now, he is here to find Sheriff Hemlock and discuss the town's needs.
Standing about 5'9", Daren is extremely trim with coiled muscles, moving like a hunting cat.

I'm horribly untalented when it comes to anything involved with art, which includes maps. I have run games without them, but I'm also open to assistance from people like you!
As for groups, I'm going to kind of let things happen as you'd like them too. I like the idea that once we get into the meat of the adventure, you can split into two or even three groups and play to each person's strength as you try to solve the mysteries, etc. But that'll be up to y'all!

Lukas Halvson |

"Hello everyone! Lukas Halvson, at your service!" The half-elf idly swipes at a few loose hairs that have slipped from the leather strips holding his hair back, before shifting a well-worn blacksmith's apron to rest more comfortably across his shoulders.
Thank you for the selection Seamus, and congrats to everybody else! Lukas is my character, an oracle of the ancestors mystery. My posting schedule is looking to be in the mornings for the most part as things progress.

Terwin Thanderghast |

I would say that a battle map will make things a lot easier, especially given there are so many of us. As a wizard who will likely use area effects semi regularly it would certainly make things easier.
How about I just put up a blank grid map on google, all you would need to do is do an image search for the monster you wanted and insert it, all the players would need to do is move their images. Putting boxes, etc., for walls is also very easy.
Example Map Here here is an example, anyone with this link should be able to move images on the map, etc., and import their own images. Its easy to fit images to size with the grid and the shapes button can be used to represent spell effects, or walls, etc. Just think of it as a digital dry erase map. I could also put letters and numbers on the axis for referencing quite easily.

Orren Idleveil |

"Greetings! My name is Orren. I am a devotee of Nethys, seeker of knowledge, and protector of history." Orren chuckles. "Or at least that's what I prefer to believe." He grins warmly.
Thank you for the spot, Seamus! I'm definitely looking forward to this game. I'm 25, currently a student out in the state of washington working on my master's in ecology. Born & raised in Michigan state. I have more time on weekends, but can post at least once a day all week. I play PFS here, and some of the guys invited me to their L5R group (which is a nice change of pace).
I've played some games without maps (including my other pbp). It seems to work out well for most situations. Though I could see BF-control spells benefiting from a clearer picture.
I'd post more, but it's past 1am now x[

"Ah, a learned man! Well met." Orren grins softly, happy to meet someone who looked able to supply a stimulating conversation. "Quite a way with words you have there."

Jarryn Silvertongue |

A slender man with light brown hair and piercing blue eyes sweeps into view with an easy smile. Around his head, a small thrush with a multi-hued tail dips and dives. The man bows effortlessly and stands, the thrush perching on his shoulder as he reaches up to stroke its breast.
"Well met," the man says in a rich baritone, "I am Jarryn, known as the Silvertongue. I am a merchant and dabbler in the arcane. This is Sparktail, my familiar."
For those acquainted with the arcane arts, it is no doubt telling that he appears to carry no spellbook with which to research spells.
"My strengths lie in diplomacy, appraisal of mundane and magical items, arcane and local knowledge as well as some knowledge on spellcraft and the use of magical items," he continues, ever-smiling.
Turning to Orren, he inclines his head. "It is always a pleasure to meet a fellow enthusiast in the arcane arts."
I guess that Jarryn will become the party face, as he has a +18 modifier to Diplomacy while Sparktail is nearby (+15 if not), as well as a reasonable Intimidate skill modifier (+6).

Orren Idleveil |

Oops! Didn't even realize it'd been started. I'll post as soon as I find some time today.

Daren "Chance" Varkon |

When I was looking, I didn't notice it had started either until I actually clicked on the gameplay tab. It's a PITA sometimes, but oh well, at least we have a dang decent website to PBP with.

Orren Idleveil |

I've had no problems with this site so far, I believe. I can imagine other sites might not be nearly as neat though. I expected the little (x new) notification to appear on the gameplay tab though :P

Orren Idleveil |

Seamus, out of curiosity, how far do you plan to take this campaign level-wise?

Orren Idleveil |

OK, so my HDD decided that now was a great time to crash (with 5 or 6 things due this exact week.. ugh). I'll still post here, though it might slow down a bit. More likely I'll just be posting from my phone, which is a nightmare to format with, so my posts will be much shorter, unless I can post from my office.
Send me positive thoughts my way, if ya can spare.

Orren Idleveil |

You're telling me =/ had my whole week planned out, now it's all over the place.
Terwin: I'm loving the parrot. This'll be fun :p

Terwin Thanderghast |

Oh good, I was worried he'd be annoying. I was kinda looking for a familiar that would have a believable out for Improved Familair - Air Elemental - later on, but I usually get too attached, LOL.

Orren Idleveil |

I have a tengu ranger (ironically) in PFS that's somewhat similar. Crude and rather abrasive, haha. He's my favorite one to RP

Lukas Halvson |

@Seamus No worries, welcome back!
@Orren I know this might be a bit tougher for you to answer, but how much healing/support casting are you likely to need from my end? Just trying to think ahead on spell selection, is all.
@Terwin Had you though about him having been an air elemental all along? I had an old DM who did that for another player in a game he was running when they swapped their fox for a protean; the familiar had explained that it wasn't going to 'break out the good stuff for a rookie like you' as to why it had been so mundane before. How you've been describing Wilberforce's...personality reminds me a bit of the dynamic they had as well. I like it!

Orren Idleveil |

Hard to say. I don't usually play clerics so I'm not very familiar with their spell list. Orren believes strongly in protecting others though, so he'll likely tend a bit in that direction, but since he craves new experience, he'll probably be pretty general in his spell selection as well, with some useful debuff/control spells to take advantage of his mental stats.
My domain abilities help protect the group and increase caster effectiveness (giving allies deflection to AC, and increase caster levels or spell DCs). I imagine they won't be too useful after the first few levels though :P
He should be able to heal pretty well (hopefully having some way of keeping his channel ability up to par), but it's always good to have overlap just in case.

Terwin Thanderghast |

@Lukas, I kinda like improved familiars being something to look forward to, and typically my DMs have woven their acquisition into the story in really fun ways. Plus air elementals are actually a lot nastier than most people give them credit for - especially when you get levitate at will and they can essentially push you around like a cheap version of fly!
I'll note that Terwin's initial combat strategy is going to be pretty daft at times - since he'll be running up to foes to use his Lightening Flash ability. Hopefully his 12 hp will be enough to see him right.

Orren Idleveil |

Seems like that strategy fits the character, Terwin! Orren's stuck with his crossbow and boosting allies for a little while before he gets more spells!

Orren Idleveil |

I've never done a PbP with a map, seems like it'll help a lot! I don't envy you trying to manage so many people Seamus :)

Orren Idleveil |

Unfortunate. Luckily we have another wizard to fill the space!
This is a good time to let everyone know I'll be out of reach of technology for a few days after the weekend (starting Sunday I believe). I'll return before Thanksgiving.

Orren Idleveil |

Better then me standing around! I still have a bit before I leave though.

Orren Idleveil |

Ok, I'm heading out tomorrow morning (sunday) and returning by thursday afternoon (thanksgiving). See everyone then! Take care of those goblins!!
