Rallos Therinor |

First thing in the morning, Rallos listens intently at the pile of furniture and debris, trying to find out if there is a trap/ambush waiting.
perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
apprently Rallos hears nothing...fail...

Yasmin al Akbar |

Yasmin listens patiently during her watch for sounds of goblins or other things that might be waiting in ambush. Take 20 on Perception = 22

Ea Zalinsel |

In the morning, Ea gives a small silent prayer to Pharasma
I had one more day to live.. it's more than those who died yesterday. Thank you for your blessing, Pharasma. I'll try to do my best to honor and worship you, as I should do for every last day of my life.
She rises with a grim and cold determination, then looks at the dead goblin dogs. She walks to one, and puts her hand on the cold body
Use my Lore Keeper ability to learn what I can about the Goblin dogs abilities, Total relevant Knowledge check 18 (15+level+Wis bonus)

Grayface |

Grayface awakens refreshed and healed, and ready for more killing. He had a job to do, and vengeance was fresh in his memory.
If Yasmin or Rallos notice an ambush/trap waiting for us, I suggest someone opening the door and Grayface will fling a goblin dog corpse out the door to absorb the first wave of attacks.
If they notice nothing, then Grayface will volunteer to step out of the room first, sword and board ready. (an accompanying Dancing Lights spell would be very helpful.)

GM Zed |

The sounds you hear throughout the night are goblinoid...vicious, mean-spirited, petty, quarrelsome...and utterly disorganised. There is no sign of anything sneaky or ambush related happening...
Exploring further, it seems that you have three options for heading southwards into the ruins...
- To the west, through the barricade of rubble and destroyed furniture...there are small gaps which would enable a small creature (such as a goblin!!!) to squeeze through but anything larger will have to either squeeze through or attempt to shove it out of the way.
- To the east, a sturdy set of double doors block the way...there is a smattering of rubble, dust and cobwebs around this doorway.
- Examining the north-east Tower, there is a very poorly disguised entrance to a small tunnel...hidden behind a vaguely green curtain. The tunnel curves such that, without entering, you are unable to see much farther than ten feet in...

Rallos Therinor |

I'm up for the NE....also, I can rig a small trap for any critter that might want to try to use the tunnel to the west.
I think the small tunnel might be the best bet...the doors are too obvious....at least to me...

Yasmin al Akbar |

"Sure, small tunnel sounds as good as anything." Yasmin lights a torch, which she keeps in hand.

Grayface |

"Ok with me."

GM Zed |

The tunnel, roughly hewn at the entrance, is no more than 4 feet high...if you were to meet anything within the tunnel, anything unfriendly, you wouldn't have much room to manoeuvre or to swing a weapon...
Lighting Situation? Plus, if you do enter the tunnel, and more generally, have you settled on a 'Marching Order'?

Rallos Therinor |

roughly how wide is the tunnel? if it's too narrow, that might pose a problem. I am not adverse to going first, since I can spot traps and can see in the dark. If Mr. Meatshield, er, Grayface wants to go first, that's fine too....lol

Grayface |

"Hmmm. Maybe we should...explore elsewhere. I can't swing my sword in that rat hole."

Ea Zalinsel |

Change my "Detect Magic" orison for a "Light"
So lets see what hides behind that rubble, if you can smash our way through, Grayface.
After some small prayer to the Lady of the Graves, a pale, ghostly white light appears on the tip of Sister Zalinsel's morningstar. She looks at Emerald for a few seconds, keeping silent.
You guess you could get the same came of patient, dispassionate look from a vulture.

Grayface |

"That's a fine idea Em. While your little scout is scouting, I'll try to get through this barrier as Ea suggested."
Grayface will set upon the barrier by tugging, pushing, tearing, and removing whatever debris is possible for him to move, in order to make a passageway large enough for the party to get through.
"Keep a sharp look out while I work. I don't want to get caught with my pants down."
I moved my icon to the rubble. I can't see in the dark so I would need someone to be there with me, preferably more than one in case we get into trouble.

Rallos Therinor |

Rallos guards Grayface's back as he clears the debris, ready to pounce on anyone who tries to come through the hole in the wall.
I shall watch this way, the rest get the other side.
Rallos tries to meld into the shadows.
stealth: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30

Yasmin al Akbar |

Yasmin hangs out with Emerald.

GM Zed |

Quartz Stealth: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32
Goblin Perception (Distracted): 1d20 - 1 - 4 ⇒ (10) - 1 - 4 = 5
Quartz is not observed
Emerald's companion is gone for a few moments, during which Gray continues to take the barricade apart, and, when it returns, it skitters up to the Oread and perches on her shoulder.
With Gray's effort it will take about five minutes to dismantle the barricade such that you can pass through...and, with the amount of junk interlaced into the barricade, it is unlikely that you will be able to be quiet in your endeavours...

Grayface |

it is unlikely that you will be able to be quiet in your endeavours...
I assumed as much, but it can't be helped. We gotz to get thru! Queues up The Doors, Break on Through

Yasmin al Akbar |

Once Quartz comes back and reports in, Yasmin suggests taking the passage. She will head to Grayface. "There's only a couple of goblins at the end of the other tunnel. I think we can go there and take them by surprise."
Tunnel seems much better to me.

Grayface |

Grayface looks to Yasmin and Rallos when they suddenly hear the silly song, but by then the group had already encouraged us to come back to the tunnel.
Gray will ignore the singer for now and make his way back to the northeast tower room with the group.

Yasmin al Akbar |

Sneak, sneak, sneak, sneak up to the stinky goblin!

GM Zed |

Moving through the tunnel the space doesn't open up...if anything it is tighter in places...fortunately, Rallos doesn't encounter anything along the fifty foot length of the tunnel - if he had, there would have been precious little space in which to fight.
The tunnel curves and turns until it opens up into a moderately sized room; from this curving room, doors lead north and south (the northwards door almost certainly leads back into the entrance hallway...and is barred from the inside) whilst a passage leads west. A small table with four rickety chairs sits in the middle of the room. A pair of dice lies on the table amid cups and plates.
At this table, is a fairly comic sight...two goblins are sat, one of whom is sound asleep...whilst the other, singing to herself, is filling the sleeping goblin's ears with an increasingly large pile of cheese...
Goblin fails to observe Rallos...Stealth check is higher than possible Perception Roll
Map update coming shortly

Rallos Therinor |

Rallos comes up behind the singing gobbo....and tries to run her through with his rapier.
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 51d6 ⇒ 61d6 ⇒ 4
unsure as to what modifiers or anything, also rolled sneak attack dmg..the last 1d6
edit: or I could roll a 1...sheesh....

GM Zed |

Not the most spectacular Surprise Round ever!!!
Initiative Check for Party / Enemy
Grayface, Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Rallos, Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Emerald, Initiative: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (18) + 0 = 18
Ea, Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Yasmin, Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
Goblins, Initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Initiative Order
Emerald, Grayface, Yasmin then
Goblins then
Ea and Rallos
As Rallos indicated he would be 'right back', I am ruling that the rest of the party (apart from Quartz who is at the entrance to the tunnel in the goblin's guard room) start this combat in the North East tower
"What?!?!?! Hey?!?!?! Where'd you come from?"
and then..."You broke my cheese tower Longshanks!!!!"
The sound of falling furniture and unmistakeably angry goblins echoes up the tunnel as combat is joined...
Don't forget that the entire of the Emerald Spire is difficult terrain...
Emerald, Grayface and Yasmin may act now

Yasmin al Akbar |

"That doesn't sound good." Yasmin double moves, but makes sure the fighters can get ahead of her.

Grayface |

"Sonuva..." Gray gets down and crawls at full speed.

GM Zed |

It's a Public Holiday here in the UK so Emerald may be delayed in posting... However, given that her action will almost certainly consist of climbing into the tunnel, I am inclined to post for Goblins and let her Retcon as appropriate
Jumping up on to her chair, the goblin shouts "Wake Up Bazzle...Longshanks be here!!!"... Her slumbering companion shakes his head groggily, dislodging cheese from his ears, "What?!? Hey! What's in my ears"...
With her companion waking, the goblin listlessly slashes at Rallos with her sword.
Goblin, Short Sword vs Rallos: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16, hitting for 1d4 ⇒ 2
...whilst the other goblin groggily gets to his feet and draws his sword...
Everyone may take their turn now

Rallos Therinor |

Rallos movesahead one space and tries to stab the gobbo that is just waking u
unsure if there are any modifiers for attacking that one...but will try anyways
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 91d6 ⇒ 5
rolled sneak attack just in case i qualify for it

Yasmin al Akbar |

Yasmin moves some more! Moved her to the end of the tunnel.

Grayface |

Same as Yasmin, I will continue my crawl, hopefully reaching the end of the tunnel this round, or as close as movement allows.

GM Zed |

Movement gets Gray and Yasmin to the end of the tunnel
Turning a corner in the tunnel, Yasmin and Gray are just in time to see Rallos futilely swipe at an increasingly taunting goblin...
"Is that the best you can do Longshanks? No need to fetch Grulk....we'll stick you, skewer you and feed your bones to the dogs..."
Will wait for Emerald's action(s) and then post for Goblins

GM Zed |

GMPC double move into tunnel for Emerald
"Shouldn't have come here alone Longshanks...", the goblin taunts Rallos whilst it tries to move around him...slashing and stabbing while she goes...
"Yeah...We're going to slice you up...use that lovely knife of yours", her companion moves around to a flanking position...and slashes at Rallos with his sword.
Goblin Warrior 1, Short Sword vs Rallos: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 2 = 17, hitting for 1d4 ⇒ 2
Goblin Warrior 2, Short Sword vs Rallos: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 + 2 = 17, hitting for 1d4 ⇒ 1
Everyone may take their turn now

Grayface |

The warrior emerges from the crawlway with hatred in his eyes, malice in his intent. He engages the nearest goblin, but fails to connect.
Attack vs Goblin Warrior 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Yasmin al Akbar |

Yasmin attempts to daze the goblin that Grayface did not attack. Will DC 13

Ea Zalinsel |

When Ea get out of the tunnel, she enters the fray besides Grayface, with no regard for her safety, no emotion, no hate
Let Fate be.
attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

GM Zed |

Rallos, seeing his opportunity as the goblin is distracted by the apparent smell of cheese, plunges his blade through the chest of the creature...killing it in an instant...
"Hey....You killed Bazzle....I'm going to kill you for...ERK!!!", the other goblin's threat hangs in the air as a morning star crashes down upon it's skull. Whatever harm it had in mind for Rallos going unspoken as it slumps forward...dead
Map Update to Follow Shortly

GM Zed |

A short passageway leads from the room where you are to a similarly sized room. Rubble and sharpened sticks barricade the northern entrance to this curved room (peering through, you can confirm that it is the same barricade that you explored in the entrance hall), and a thin wall runs down the room’s middle. A door leads to the south of this room whilst there are also doors in both walls of the passageway.
Of more pressing concern maybe, are the increasingly argumentative voices coming through the door to the south of your position.
”Mine!!!!”
”No…Mine…I Killed It so I gets to Eat it!!!!
”You never killed it….you found it…is rotten!!!! Anyway, is mine!!!!!”
”Fight you for it?”

Yasmin al Akbar |

Yasmin points to the door to the south, encouraging the party to go there when ready.

Ea Zalinsel |

Ea whispers.
Let's wait and hear if they truly fight between themselves. Then we will enter and surprise them.
She listens intensly, trying to discern the number of voices, staying motionless as a corpse
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

Grayface |

Grayface blushes in frustrated embarrassment. He was supposed to be the killer here, not the spindly armed cleric of death!
Don't be foolish, he thought to himself. You've seen enough in your days to know it is best to never underestimate someone.
In a tiny whisper the warrior addresses his friends, "Best not forget these rooms here," He points to the doors flanking the passageway where we entered this room, "But first let us drop in on this conversation." He points south to the arguing voices.
Grayface clutches his sword and shield, but looks to Rallos.
I'll move/engage after Rallos can sneak up first.
