Grayface
I have no light source unfortunately! Hopefully we can remedy that soon!
Yasmin al Akbar
Yasmin looks behind her, only to see darkness. "Damn it all, where did everyone go?" She readies herself to pull the rope back in once the others climb up.
GM Zed
Dogs don't shoot bows Longshanks...Goblins does and goblins does it good...", another arrow is fired in Ea's direction - this time, the aim is true and a ugly looking arrow embeds itself in Ea's thigh.
Goblin Commando, Short Bow vs Ea (Favoured Enemy - Human): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19, hitting for1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Meanwhile, in the darkness of the ruins, the other remaining goblin taunts and giggles as it ducks out of the way of Rallos and the flailing Grayface...
"Over here....no Stupid Longshanks.....over here!!!"
Goblin 3, Short Sword vs Rallos: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14, missing
The goblin lunges enthusiastically at Rallos but the Tiefling spins out of the way...
Everyone may take their turn now
Yasmin al Akbar
I assume both Emerald and Ea climbed up already based on their posted actions. How close is the goblin commando?
Ea Zalinsel
I assumed Ea waited down the rope until Emerald is safe,as you need one full round to climb, and will climb only now, using my earlier roll on last Sunday post, Sister Zalinsel's voice is cold and emotionless, her eyes coldly fixing the mounted goblin Climb now, Emerald. I'll go after you. You're lighter, you dont wear an armor and should be up that wall more easily than me. delayed climb next round: 1d20 + 6 - 3 ⇒ (18) + 6 - 3 = 21
Ea winces as the arrow pierces her flesh deeply, then dashes to the rope, climbing it quickly and keeping close to the floor when she's up the wall, trying to minimize the target she represents. She doesn't dare to roll on her side, as the arrow might get even deeper.
tries to get some cover from the goblin's commando bow, and should be considered prone on the ground against any other goblin inside the room
It's dark up there...Where is everyone?
GM Zed
As previously (the Goblin Commando has remained in position happily peppering Ea with arrows) - There isn't any map for the slope / foot of the slope so let's just assume it is 50 feet between your position and the Goblin Commando...and that it can be targeted, albeit with cover, from the top of the slope
Yasmin al Akbar
Yasmin draws and lights a sunrod. She takes a 5-foot step away from the door.
Grayface
"Stand still you pustule!"
Gray takes another heavy swing in the goblin's direction.
Attack Goblin #3: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 100
yeah!
GM Zed
Still posting via iPad so can't edit map...could someone delete Goblin 3 and move Goblin Commando / Goblin Dog up the pathway to a point directly West of Rallos (5 Squares to the West)
With everyone safely up the slope and into the ruins, the mounted goblin loses interest and ambles back up the pathway to the side entrance...muttering something about "Scaredy Cat Longshanks" and "Warning the Boss", it is totally lost in thought...
Perception Check to notice Rallos (DC0 +5 (Creature is Distracted), +2 (Unfavourable Conditions), +2 (25 ft distance) - overall DC9): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
...and fails to notice the Tiefling moving towards it within the inky blackness...
Yasmin al Akbar
I moved the goblins and also Ea on the map, though Ea should adjust herself if desired.
Rallos Therinor
Rallos will fire his bow at the gobbo.
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 131d6 ⇒ 5
sneak attack: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Rolled sneak attack just in case it applies. Also left dice roll unmodified in case there are penalties I don't know about. If I am going out of turn, my apologies...I am just illing to do some killing..lol
Grayface
"What the devil.... I can't see a thing... Em, speak up, I'm walking toward you." With his hands outstretched Grayface fumbles in the darkness toward the sound of Em's voice. I moved myself a few spaces in that direction on the map.
Yasmin al Akbar
"Oh why did I ever agree to this," says Yasmin as the sunrod in her hand can barely pierce the unnatural gloom. She grabs hold of Ea's hand, trying to lead her to the voices. "Come on, let's regroup." Her heart racing, Yasmin walks toward the sound of Emerald and Grayface.
Ea Zalinsel
Ea sits against a wall, and carefully takes the arrow out of her leg, her face as stoic as possible
would taking 10 (for a 10+7=17 total) on Healing suffice to get the arrow off as swiftly and nicely as possible?
Then she calls
Those who are hurted, come close to me.
will use a Channeling 1d6 ⇒ 4 to heal everyone, when my comrades are ready and around.
GM Zed
Ea - your Heal check is fine for removing the arrow...it was just flavour text anyway, no mechanical effects...
Rallos lets loose with an arrow...but the strange light and the wind starting to rise outside affects his aim, the shot flying over the goblin's head....
"What!!!! Hey Longshanks....you in there? I'm going to grind you into stew..."
The goblin fires a shot in response but his aim is equally affected by the worsening conditions...
Goblin Commando, Short Bow vs Rallos: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10, missing
...the arrow striking the wall at the entrance to the ruins...whilst Rallos ducks back in towards Ea's call...
I have adjusted everyone's HP to take account of the healing
Those with the ability to see in the dark, without the 'attentions' of the goblin inhabitants, can see a little more of the entrance to the Emerald Spire...
Half-melted blocks of green glass lie thick on the floor. A crumbling archway to the east leads into another chamber, while a door to the west leads into the round tower at the northwest corner of the building. To the south, a barricade of rubble and wooden stakes blocks a passage...on the other side of the building, a heavy pair of double doors bars the way south...
Beyond the door to the North West Tower, an annoyed voice is shouting, "Stop it... Stop it... Get down you stupid animal... Gobbo is the master..."
Everyone may take their turn now
Grayface
Gray grumbles about the darkness, but takes no direct action...yet.
I will delay for now. My action this round will likely depend on others' actions.
Yasmin al Akbar
"I've got something so that we can see the goblin." Yasmin casts Dancing lights, setting up 4 wisp-like lights in the area around the entrance. If I understand the rules right, this will still manage to light up the whole area near the entrance so we can see the goblin as it arrives, because each light can be 10 feet apart, and the lights each manage to radiate 5 feet. Let me know if I misunderstand.
Grayface
Grayface will ready his action to move to intercept the mounted goblin after Rallos and Em fire off their ranged attacks. My intention is to be meat shield for a round at least, blocking his ingress.
GM Zed
Yasmin - your use of Dancing Lights is valid and effectively illuminates the entrance to the west of the Ruins
Whooping and Hollering, the mounted Goblin lowers his cruel looking lance and his mount races into the ruins...with Grayface standing in it's way, the green skinned maniac ineffectively clashes against the fighter's armour...
Goblin Commando, Horse Chopper vs Grayface - including Favoured Enemy (Human): 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 2 = 7, missing
As one goblin attacks, the door to the tower opens...and another joins the fight...
"Get Her!!!"
Another hairless dog-like creature bites at Emerald, who was unfortunate enough to be stood by the door, it's jaws clamping around her throat as it climbs up at her...
Rallos may make his readied attack against either Goblin Commando (or Goblin Dog)
Goblin Dog, Bite vs Emerald: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22, Critical Threat
Confirming Critical Threat: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16, Critical Hit Confirmed for2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 6) + 4 = 14
Emerald is now unconscious and dying at -4; on her next turn she will require to make a DC10 Constitution Check with a -4 penalty to Stabilise
Additionally, Emerald will require to make a DC 12 Fortitude save or break out in an itching rash. A creature affected by this rash takes a –2 penalty to Dexterity and Charisma for 1 day (multiple allergic reactions do not stack). Remove disease or any magical healing removes the rash instantly. This is a disease effect.
Map Update to follow - note that Goblin Commando / Dog from outside the ruins is now located 2 squares south of Grayface and there is a new Goblin Dog adjacent / northwest of Emerald with another Goblin adjacent / northwest of it...
Everyone may take their turn now - Ea hasn't acted this round and may retcon an action if desired
Grayface
"Emerald!! rrrrRRRAAALLGH!!
The warrior is angered by his new friend's fall. This new friend who so readily opened up to him, in a world filled judgmental sheep who summed him up at a glance. Grayface did not know if she was alive or dead, but he did know that he would put every last green-skin down while he still drew breath.
The warrior will attack the mounted commando with a heavy swing of his bastard sword, but his anger has clearly distracted his aim...
Sword chop: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Rallos Therinor
Rallos fires his arrow at the dog.
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 241d6 ⇒ 4
crit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
edit: forgot to spoecify which dog....the one southwest of Gray's position....the one Rallos knew about before hand.
Ea Zalinsel
Sister Zalinsel walks to Rallos's side, as the small warrior takes his rapier out, and utters a small prayer
Our Lady of the Graves, guides his hand and let his Fate be fortunate.Sooner or later, his time will come.
Cast Guidance on Rallos
She doesn't even glance at the poor Emerald, her blood pulsing out of her ripped open throat
Rallos Therinor
Thanks for the prayer, but I think our friend needs help more....look after her. Me and Gray will take care of this rabble.
Rallos then questions the gobbos' relationships with their mounts in their native tongue.
Try to drag her out of harm...I will try to distract them.
Ea Zalinsel
Ea frowns upon Rallos suggestion
What? It is her time to die, maybe! Why should I interfere with her Fate?
She says coldly
I'll do what I can. First we have to get rid of the goblins. Pharasma will judge if Emerald will survive or not. No one said the adventurer's life was without risks.
Or wasn't sometimes short.
Yasmin al Akbar
Sorry for the delay. From what I can tell, it looks like our map must have moved underneath us. Many of us are standing in the walls. Does someone know how it should go?
Yasmin is shocked as the cleric does nothing for their companion. "What are you talking about, Ea? You can save her! We'll handle these goblins!!"
She moves forward to the goblin to the south and blasts it with ice! Burning Hands - converted to cold damage. Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6 Reflex DC15 for half damage.
Yasmin al Akbar
Yasmin moves to Grayface's spot as soon as he vacates it.
GM Zed
Reflex Save for Goblin Commando 1: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18, saved (3 damage)
Reflex Save for Goblin Dog 1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13, save failed (6 damage)
Yasmin's blast of cold lowers the temperature even further and, whilst the mounted goblin doesn't appear overly wounded by it, the hairless creature yelps and howls in pain...
Rallos fires his crossbow, the aim is true and, even though the goblin tries to steer his mount out of the way...
Goblin Commando Ride Check (Mounted Combat Feat): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13, failed against Rallos Combat Roll
...the bolt embeds itself in the skull of the goblin dog. The mounted goblin shouts indignantly as it's mount dies beneath it, "You'll pay for that Longshanks..."
Moving away from Grayface, the goblin wildly and ineffectively swipes its Horsechopper at the fighter.
Goblin Commando 1, Horsechopper vs Grayface (Favoured Enemy: Humans): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6, missing
Whilst, in the tower, the goblin dog retreats from Emerald's unconscious body allowing the goblin to climb atop it and get a clear shot at Yasmin.
Goblin Commando 2, Shortbow vs Yasmin (Favoured Enemy: Humans): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26, hitting for 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Everyone may take their turn now
Ea Zalinsel
Sister Zalinsel words send chills down the spine of her companions.
I said I will do what I can,Yasmin. If Pharasma decides Emerald will die now, there is nothing I can do to save her, and even if I could, I wouldn't. Death awaits us all, no one can say when it will come. Death shouldn't be feared, because it is the end of fear and pain. Now get these goblins out of the way, and I'll do my part.
Ea lowers her shield to the floor, keeping only her weapon in one hand. She traces a spiral in the air, and her free hand glows a ghostly white
Let Fate happen.
Cast Stabilise, AC lowered to 15 without shield, delayed action: walks to Emerald and touch her as soon as the Goblin commando and its dog have acted
Yasmin al Akbar
"Aieee!" cries the kelish sorceress screeches as she's hit by the goblin's arrow. She starts shouting what appear to be obscenities in Kelish. "أنت مجنون الكلبة، كنت تريد منا أن نموت هنا!"
She calls forth magic to hamper the goblin that shot her. Daze, DC13 before running to take cover.
Rallos Therinor
Yeah, I wanted to save that +1 just in case things get dicey...call it a calculated risk....hehe. If that guy is dazed, sneak doesn't apply right? I don't think it does...just thought I would check.
Grayface
Bastard sword at Commando: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
The scarred warrior moves adjacent to the goblin who was riding the now-dead dog mount. "You won't live to see tomorrow, filth." sigh...but apparently he'll live for a tad bit longer.
GM Zed
Rallos - the Dazed effect just means that the Goblin will take no action this round; there are no other mechanical effects and sneak attack wouldn't apply
Stepping back from Grayface's swinging sword, the goblin blows a raspberry and lunges forward with his halberd-like blade...this time, the goblin finds a gap in the warrior's armour..."Stuck you Longshanks...going to chop you up and feed you to the dogs"
Goblin Commando 1, Horsechopper vs Grayface: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24, hitting for 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Meanwhile, whilst the other goblin is transfixed by Yasmin's lights, it's mount hungrily snaps at Rallos...it's slathering jaws snarling and growling...
Goblin Dog 2, Bite vs Rallos: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15, missing
Everyone may take their turn now
Grayface
The blow from the goblin's polearm dug deeply, but the pain was negligible compared to his days as a slave. He all but ignored the trauma to his flesh.
"I feel no pain smallshanks! I just keep coming!" He moves to engage again and brings his sword downward with a vengeance.
Attack on commando: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Bastard Sword Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
