Star Wars: Chronicles is a Star Wars RPG campaign using the Edge of the Empire/Age of Rebellion/Force and Destiny rules from Fantasy Flight Games (https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/#/universe/star-wars).

The concept of this campaign is episodic (taking place after the Battle of Yavin, during the time of the Episode 4-6 movies), similar to the style of the Star Wars: Rebels television series. The characters will be making a living for themselves any way they can as well as taking the odd job from the Rebel Alliance to further the aims of the Rebellion.

Ditto. Life's just become hectic, and I've not really had much that I could call free time. Ironically, I'm on holiday this week so I thought I could check in most nights but it's not been the case, and after tonight I'll be away for the weekend.

I'll post just now, but I'm not wanting to hold up the game, if you want me to drop out that's okay. I'm expecting to be able to post again Monday evening. As always, feel free to NPC Aristi if I've missed an opportunity to post, I don't want to be a roadblock for the group.

Good news is, last month I ran a one-off pen and paper session of Edge of Empire and the group enjoyed it so much that they've asked to keep it going as a campaign. Perhaps another thing that's eating up my time at the moment as I'm trying to get that game sorted, but this campaign was a good learning platform for me. I'm enjoying this immensely!

People please don't take it the wrong way when I push us as players to move the story. I enjoy this game and the group we have. But as a GM, I believe players have just as much responsibility as the GM to move the story. To that end,
1) we need to post regularly.
2) we need to try to stay together as much as possible, because separate groups make for separate threads for the GM to tie up, and that slows it down.
3) If you have to go off somewhere (ala Thrask and myself by the door), then state what your intent is so that DM Xyro can 'ignore' you as needed. I believe Thrask and I understand this isn't our moment to shine, so we are standing here looking mean while you guys talk.
4) anything else we can do to make it easier on Xyro is not good, but essential.

I have been very busy also, my main drive is to not have people quit due to inactivity. It has been a good group and story so far and I have alot of ideas and hooks, most of you got a hook for you character. I have left it up to you as a group to pick which hooks to bite. Maybe this caused some slowdown so it becomes an issue I can start the ole railroad for a while if it suits everyone.

Stepping back a bit, the part about Kara's angst over her past was the only way I know how to RP those 2 Threat I rolled. A little stress, some anger, etc. Couldn't think of any application in game terms for GM Xyro to use, so I went with that.

Just to let you know that things have changed – yet again – but this time in a good way: as of tomorrow (Monday) I'm taking on a different set of responsibilities, which are more in line with what I want to do and will leave me with lots more time to do other stuff outside work.

I'm wondering how common is the knowledge that Alderaan was destroyed by the Empire. Did the knowledge die with Tarkin and the Death Star? Vader would know, but everyone else died when the Death Star blew up. Certainly, the Alliance would spread the news, because Leia witnessed it.

Did Tarkin broadcast the news throughout the Empire to frighten the other systems? That would seem to have been his intent, because that was goal - to 'demonstrate the full power of this battle station.'

Its really only important if a discussion breaks out based on Kara's last comments. What would everyone know? The Alliance would have one view, the Empire another. I can see the Empire propaganda machine kicking in as well, both for the Alderaan and Death Star incidents. I'll explore that if anyone challenges her on her views.

I read the Sullustans' usual and historical view as 'We don't care who's fighting, as long as we can sell ships and weapons to both sides!' While our resident grumpy grandpa doesn't share most of Sullust's non-aggressive views, he still grew up around that.

Good questions. Would knowledge have fuelled speculation about other death star-type weapons of mass destruction out there in the galaxy? Would the families of those serving aboard the Death Star have risked suing the government for compensation for their deaths? Or maybe they received posthumous decorations? It would be fun to see all the possibilities.

Aristi's comments comments are based on his own family's collusion with the status quo. Privately they may have no love for the Empire, but nor are they willing to upset things by taking a stand.

While I for one have enjoyed the in character arguments and roleplay...Thrask finds it deplorable that you would do so in front of someone you may work for and that you do it without drawing blood ^__^.

Anyone watch the Rebels animated series? My daughter and I enjoy it, and it was a real treat to see Grand Admiral Thrawn make an appearance in a recent episode. It made me wonder just how widespread Chiss were in the galaxy these days - I know all the old novels have been nixed but they seemed to indicate that apart from Thrawn (and Kara!) they were all but unknown in the galaxy beyond their home space.

As far as I can tell from the RPG books, they are pretty much unknown. there are a few in Imperial service, and generally as officers, but that's about it. The MMO would have you believe that they are everywhere, because it's a playable class in the game.

I, as a player, am absolutely for all of us exploring an ancient ruined temple. Juviest is unwilling to go inside, but he wouldn't want to abandon Djebelle inside, and wouldn't really shoot her. So instead he's resort to using his abysmal persuasion skills to try and convince her to leave now, but will follow if she insists. Just going off of the fact that I've got a bad feeling about this.

Juviest: Djebelle's "instructions" are explicit - she's to enter alone. She's not going to ask you to join her; quite the opposite.

Yeah, that's about what I thought. I don't mind, Chiss are one of my favourite aliens in Star Wars so it's fun to see one playing out in the group.

Can't wait to see what Djebelle finds in this place. :)
