Now time to give out hero points. Every time we level up, which is once per chapter(a chapter being aprox 3 encounters, with the exception of the first),I will hand out hero points for the following criteria.

Best Role Playing
Best Use of a Hero Point
*MVP*This is voted on by you based on what ever criteria you choose(but do please have a reason and post why you are voting for who you are). You can not vote for yourself, and I will break ties.

I will review the game and post soon my choices.

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

You all do still get 1 hero point for leveling. If you are at your max, which is 3, you do not gain more. If I give you one for one of the end of chapter criteria that is a special one and you do get to use that in addition to your normal.

I want to say that there has been some great roleplaying and I really appreciate it. Some of you were not given the opportunity to showcase your characters as much in this first part as you will in others, but I assure you those opportunities are coming.

Best Role Playing JIRI I really liked how he jumped right into character and started taking bets, and his overall character portrayal throughout the chapter.
Honorable Mentions Aeadon- It is always hard to go off alone, it is one of the tenets of roleplaying that you do not split the party, and I think you did well with it.
Noro I really like your character and you do well portraying her, I foresee more opportunities for you to do just that in the future. Corvus Your internal dialogue was great during the fight and I could see a professional assassin being frustrated with the overt brutality that ensued.
Best Use of a Hero Point SARVIN Your use of the hero point to assist your stealth was a good choice in that critical situation.
Honorable Mentions Agreal I liked how you used your hero point, even if unsuccessful. The only difference between your use and Sarvin's was really just about timing. His was a bit more of a critical situation involving multiple characters, but yours was still a good use.

Ok now we just need to pick MVP. Place your vote here.

Male Tiefling Expert 1/ Alchemist (grenadier) 2

As much as I want to vote myself, I'm throwing in for Noro. Cause who can dislike a lisping barbarian? I'll be updating Sarvin shortly. Busy workday.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

I vote for Jiri, cause the bartender is not to be dismissed. xP

I picked conjurer so statwise I think he is good but still need to deal with his money.

Noro, cause if Jiri plays his cards right... :-)

male Human Expert 1/Sorcerer 2

GM, there were 50gp in coin on the two soldiers we ambushed. What's the split on that?

Female Human - Rogue 2/Aristocrat 1 - AC16 (T14, FF12) , In+8; P+5/+6 (Traps), F+0, R+7, W+2

Updating my character today. I'll be going rogue - but in an assassin kind of way - lots of stealth etc.

MVP vote? Noro. Although frustrating for Corvus, her actions were in keeping with her character.

Male (Taldan) Human (Taldan) Expert [1]/Fighter (Archer) [2]

Wow, can I split my vote? I'll flip a coin and say Noro, because I liked being punched in the face.

I can see I'm in a group that has time to post and its been hard to try to keep up. Sorry if I have not been able to keep up with the standards set by many of the others. I can usually check the boards 2-3 times a day but my windows of opportunity are short. Hopefully I won't be too much of a drag.

Day Job: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 = 5

Day Job: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 = 5
Day Job: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23 = 20

Total = 190gp from Day Job rolls, plus I'll be going Fighter (Archer) for 300 gp of starting wealth from that.

I have the day job chart listed in the campaign tab. Sorry about your troubles. I believe everyone started with at least 1 hero point I have run so many of these different I forget now how I did it I will have to look at the recruitment tab for that answer.

male Human Expert 1/Sorcerer 2

I think we started with three, at least Jiri did. Let me know if that's wrong.

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

Yes everyone started with 3/3 3 being the most you can have without a feat of somesort.

male Human Expert 1/Sorcerer 2

In your first post on the gameplay thread you wrote

Quote:
You all start with 3/3 Hero Points. At the end of every chapter(which is when you level-aprox every 3-4 encounters) I will award Hero Points for the following- Best Roleplayer, Best Use of a Hero Point, and MVP(this category is chosen by the players, you can not vote for yourself and can be based on any criteria you see fit.)

Female Human Barbarian 4// Init +2/ HP 61 (61) / 69 (69) // AC: 17(15)/T:12(10)/FF:15(12) - Percep: +9// F +8(+10)/R +3/W +3(+5)/CMB +9(+12) (+11(+14) grapple)- CMD 21 (23 grapple)

ok so Noro's trait can use an attack roll instead of skill check for day Job so lets see what we have...

since she is fighting to make money and she is now a barbarian she will use her rage to boost her fighting (thus better fights = better income)

Day job - day 1: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 = 1 gp
Day job - day 2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 = 10 gp
Day job - day 3: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22 = 20 gp
Day job - day 4: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22 = 20 gp
Day job - day 5: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24 = 20 gp
Day job - day 6: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 = 10 gp
Day job - day 7: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 = 10 gp

total income = 91 gp

for praticality Noro would probably give 10% for incidentals and fight promotion fees (-9 gp) and possobly throw in another 10 gp for healing)

so total is 91 - 19 = 72 gp

now - 37.5 for rent for a fianl total of 34 gp 5 sp

ok but it would just be set aside for rent so I don't go on a spending spree then find I can't pay the rent.

Male (Taldan) Human (Taldan) Expert [1]/Fighter (Archer) [2]

Again, best wishes to you and yours Noro.

I think this can end up being very interesting. I may not have the best character for the initial premise (I'm a Talden fighter/archer with limited personal skills) but I think that might actually make it more fun. Teaming up with the assassin might be just what he needs.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Finally got around to finishing up with my cash. Will be posting soon.

DM:

Just wanted to let you know I bought a mount and guard dog among other things. Sense Aeadon knows how weak he is physically and does not trust his new abilities just yet. Also does not want to pay price gouging twin runners anymore. ;)

The animals are under his Housing and Stuff tab, they have links to their stats when you click their name.

Just want to get the all clear before I post his arrival. Business has been good and he will show it. So don't want to mess up the gameplay thread if you want me to change anything. :P

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

Buying mounts and guard dogs is fine. Remember though that there will be areas you need to go that mounts will have trouble, and if you leave gear unattended in the docks...lets just say you'll make some ratfolk of the Flotsam Graveyard very happy.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Well that's why I have guard dogs. Not to mention trying to get near a camel is not wise. So I am not worried too much, anything that could take them would find me easier prey at this point. ;)

Dark Archive

Male Human Dungeon Master

Do not underestimate the power of Handle Animal)

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

You think I chose those animals on a whim. Their loyalty/stubbornness is part of the reason I picked them. Camels are foul tempered by nature, as for the dogs both their main points are loyalty. Being their master does count against anyone else. Don't worry I will upgrade to a worg or winter wolf sooner or later, see how wise it is to get near one of those Mr. handle animal. ^.^

P.S. Just half kidding about the worg and winter wolf, you never know. Sense I did not answer your question concerning feedback, loving it so far and have nothing I would want to change at the moment. xD

Female Human - Rogue 2/Aristocrat 1 - AC16 (T14, FF12) , In+8; P+5/+6 (Traps), F+0, R+7, W+2

Not sure how inconspicuous we'd be, trying to be covert with a camel in tow around the docks ; p

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

Camels are the most common mount in Absalom, if I had a horse I would stick out like a sore thumb sense those are very rare in Absalom. So I am a somewhat successful merchant that can afford his own camel, not strange or out of place at all in the docks. It's not even really a lie now is it. ;3

Male (Taldan) Human (Taldan) Expert [1]/Fighter (Archer) [2]

Well, putting it that way, I guess not! Maybe I should save up for a 2014 Camel.

Male Tiefling Expert 1/ Alchemist (grenadier) 2

Gonna be obscure for a day or two, as I'm trying to recover from a rough weekend.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

The way I am reading it and due to my local check. House Yui's shipment can't be above ground. Sense Absalom has an extensive underground and sewer system the shipment could be hidden below the house grounds. If we can navigate the sewer system we may be able to locate the shipment underground.

That would also make the future job easier sense we could sneak in loot the place and sneak out without ever being in the open and getting any pursuers lost in the maze that is the sewers.

Aeadon is thinking if he has any contacts that could help with the sewer problem sense no one knows their way. Better to have a guide then stumbling through the place trying to figure it out. Plus I doubt the sewers are safe, rather not run into everything that likes the dark and wet places below Absalom. xP

Hope that clears some things up. Unless I am wrong then correct me cause apparently I have no clue ether.

male Human Expert 1/Sorcerer 2

Not saying you're wrong but I have to wonder why someone would store a shipment of metal underground.

Male Aasimar Expert 1/ Conjurer 2

The shipment of metal is in the broken down warehouse. We don't know what the nobles have stored underground.

Female Human Barbarian 4// Init +2/ HP 61 (61) / 69 (69) // AC: 17(15)/T:12(10)/FF:15(12) - Percep: +9// F +8(+10)/R +3/W +3(+5)/CMB +9(+12) (+11(+14) grapple)- CMD 21 (23 grapple)

I was kind of hoping that we would at least check out the warehouses we can above ground first.

also the slight flaw in the game system...

Noro has no ranks in knowledge local (not enough points) and knowledge is technically a trained only skill.

Aeadon knows more than Noro despite Noro living there and working there and haveing co-workers/ friends there.

this is really just a slight flaw in the system.

In my games... a character with a backstory should be able to make any knowledge local check untrained as if they had ranks in it concerning thier home.

Proximity to a location doesn't equal knowledge of a location, unless your Sara Palin ). I know nothing of the criminal element where I live and work. There could be a meth(and probably is) a meth lab across the street, but I would never know.
