Hey Guys,

Sorry about dropping off the radar. Personally and work-wise, it's been a bad few months capping off what has been an ugly couple of years. I won't bore you with the details save to say that my wife and I have been through her being out of work for a year, a frustrating job search, a cross country move, trying to sell our old house in a 'down market', all the pressures associated with those situations, and a few deaths in the immediate family.

Anyhow, I'm going to try to get Silent Gods up and walking (if not running) again. Thanks for your patience. This week is going to be slamming but I'll make my best attempt to get a post or two up and move the storyline along.

If any of you have lost interest in playing, drop me a line.

Hi Stormy,

Its great to hear from you! No worries about anything. Life is difficult as it is. Take your time and post only at your convenience. Be well!

Good to see you back on, sr. I'm still here; still engaged.

and I say this can move forward at whatever pace you're comfortable. If it's slow-going, it's slow-going. Taking care of yourself is the main thing.

Sorry to hear that things have been rough, but it's great to see you back. I am most definitely still interested in the game and ready to proceed at whatever pace you're ready for.

(hp 11/35, AC 18, T 13, FF 15, Initiative +3, Perception +9)

No worries, man. Family/personal life comes first always. I hope things take a turn for the better for you and yours.

I'm certainly still ready and willing to play if we get going again.

Just letting everyone know that I am keeping up with the thread. Aerik is just chillin at his hut right now. :)

(hp 38/38, AC 17, T 11, FF 11, Initiative +1, Perception +5, Fort +8, Ref +6, Will +10)

Folks, do you think it would be ok to stay in the Drear for the 48 hours? How pressing in game time is it for us to head off? I would love to keep those Horror points down to a minimum!

As the guy with the most Horror Points, Id love the chance to remove some of them.

At the same time, though, I really don't trust having this hand in our possession, and I especially don't like having it near the Drear. I have no reason to think that having it could mean bad things, other than the fact that it's the hand of a seemingly powerful, evil being... whose power we really don't know the limit. My fear is the old "evil attracts evil" thing.

But if people want to stay to get rid of some Horror Points, I could be convinced to ignore my paranoia.

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

OK, guys, we need a decision.

My vote is to press on back to the Teeth as soon as possible.

We might be able to free some or all of the captured souls--Marcus wouldn't want to sit around town with that at stake.

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

OK, I'm going to count that as 2 votes for heading out immediately (unless Jak changes his vote) and 1 for R&R. I'll wait for additional votes until some point tomorrow and then play on.

(hp 38/38, AC 17, T 11, FF 11, Initiative +1, Perception +5, Fort +8, Ref +6, Will +10)

My vote is to rest and recover from the Horror Points. Personally, I hate having them hang over my head.

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

You are the vote for R&R already. :)

Aerik and Zeke... your votes!

(hp 11/35, AC 18, T 13, FF 15, Initiative +3, Perception +9)

Dan thinks it is a good idea to remove horror points.

Aerik thinks the person freed from going back to the teeth could well be his mother.

Aerik votes to leave ASAP

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

A'ight. That is a simple majority... time to press on. I'll make a post to get y'all quickly on the road to DANGER.

totally appropriate reference

I'm wondering how long Jak can keep poking Lyrica before she punches his teeth in.

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

I think you've got some time - Lyrica is focused on the forgiving aspects of Sarenrae. :D

Anybody heard from Ezekiel? I can try to PM him later today.

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

Ez is alive. He's still running his own games at a bit of a slower pace (Jak and I play in one of them). He's been busy with his new job so his availability is a bit reduced.

Hi guys, I am going on vacation to a remote cabin in Maine on the week of August 5 - 9th. There will be no electricity and certainly no internet. The following week I leave for Gencon on August 14th and will not be back until August 19th. Please DMPC Lyrica as needed.

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

Thanks for the heads-up and will do. Enjoy your vacation and the Con!

Oh wow, I think I have some catching up to do...

I'll try to get caught up tonight SR. I didn't realize how active the game had gotten again. My apologies. I'd offer to commit Seppuku, but to be honest, it looks like it'd hurt.

(hp 38/38, AC 17, T 11, FF 11, Initiative +1, Perception +5, Fort +8, Ref +6, Will +10)

Well folks,

I'm off to Gencon! I'll be back next Tuesday. Be well!

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

Enjoy!

Stormy, A thirty second response time is pretty impressive!

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

I just happened to be on Paizo at that moment.

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

Well, it looks like Lyrica will need to be NPC'd a bit...

Mwahahahhahahah! The power!

"I will be watching to see that you take care of my young paladin!"

Ha, nice!

Oh, I'll take care of her alright... :D

Enexpectedlt out of pocket today. Will be back to regular postability tomorrow. Sorry.

Should we follow them? I'm getting RotRL ghoul murder flashbacks here.....

This made me laugh. I'm gearing up to try to run a group of my friends through the Anniv. Edition.

We I'm back from Gencon! Well, mostly. I am on the final leg of my journey home later today. What an amazing experience! Here are some of the highlights:

• I met Paizo staff James Jacobs, Jason Bulhman, and CEO, Lisa Stevens! Her story hour was awesome!

• We saw the world premie the Gamer's 3: The Hand of Fate and met the cast afterwards. What an awesome movie!

• We played hours and hours of Pathfinder Scenarios. I think we did about five or six.

• We fought off the demon horde in a special session where 140 tables of 6 players and a GM were all simultaneously battling to save the city. Our actions in our own games affected the outcome of this entire battle. What a rush to see and hear a roar of cheering when we rescued different districts from the demons!

• We survived 6 rooms in the legendary bonekeep and lived to brag about it.

• I bought way too many minis, battle mats, modules, and dice!

• I met and hung out with some great people! We laughed so hard!

Well, I will be getting back to posting soon enough. See you about.

That sounds awesome! Consider me jealous, HW.

Heads up. I"ll be out of town this weekend and through next week. I may or may not have time and connectivity to post. Bot my character if needed.

Hey everybody!! I finally managed to catch up to everything. Sorry it's taken me so long, life decided to let it's pitcher take a rest and instead is using one of those pitching machines. You know, the cartoon kind that has an auto-fire setting? And I'm REALLY not good at dodging baseballs. Or baseball bats (there's a story there about me getting knocked out by a batter with a metal baseball bat when I played baseball as a kid, but I basically just told it aside from when playing catcher, don't stand too close to the batter).

So I got a post up to respond to the situation, about the best I can do tonight sadly, as I'm fairly tired right now and going to bed. But now that I've caught up I should be able to stay caught up, outside random Godzilla attack. Wait, those come out in Bestiary 4, right?

Either way, I'm here!!

Hi Folks,

I am at the New Hampshire Highland Games tomorrow and the rest of the weekend. I will be back home on Sunday night. I will not be able to post until I get back home. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

Has anyone heard from Aerik? Is he OK? It seems we're waiting on his post.

I have not.

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

Thanks, man.

I'd say we should have Zeke light this b!tch up, but I'm fairly certain a little guy like this is gonna have a decent (if not downright stupid) reflex save.

And it's really tough with the close confines of the room, too. Every move I could make is going to end up being a bad one, it seems. Yeesh.

I see no reason we couldn't fall back and have Zeke nuke it from orbit.

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

I'm gonna go out on a limb and offer some advice here... I think Marcus, Jak, and Aerik should continue to keep the doll busy in the room while Zeke should back off and nuke the room, then the 2nd floor, and then the whole house. Yeah, three characters will die - but Zeke will get a lot of experience. ;P

GODS DAMN THAT BIRD JUST TALKED KILL IT!

Rat Bastard, Cheeky Monkey, Sly Fox, <insert anthropomorphic animal metaphor here>

Caw! Caw! Wasn't me!

No joke, that was actually my second choice. ;-)

If you wanna go out with gusto... that would certainly do it!
