Tarka seems ecstatic, shouting something to the Kobolds whilst pointing at the party and puffing up his chest. They all seem rather in awe of Tarka now. He points to the katana accusingly, then to the party, and the kobolds all nod sagely uttering some noise of agreement.
Moll isn't quite sure what to make of the Kobolds or the strange creature dad at your feet, they seem to be a tribe although bear no traditional tribe markings you are familiar with, it seems that perhaps they weren't a formal tribe, and one half broke off to join the 'Firespeaker'.
Tarka addresses you all "Dirty thief now dead, fakey Firespeaker no more. Tarka not forget good friends" he seems to be meaning the party.
Eventually the rest of the party awakens and recovers from the blast.
Yhen
|
So I guess we were able to acquire the jade katana right?"
Yhen will look around for traces of the documents.
"Someone help me look around, in case the documents are inside this room too."

Kishara regains her feet as the spell wears off and rubs her eyes to ensure they are clear and scans the room as she goes to help Moll secure the jade katana.
"It is a good day to be Chief Tarka's friends."

Grimaldus
|
"What in the Emperor's name just happened? Ugghh...I feel like I've been hit by a ton of multi-colored rocks. This is even worse than the morning after my initiation celebration..."
Grimaldus slowly comes out of his stupor, rubbing his temples and eyes before finally standing and looking around. He is suprised to see he missed the entire fight.
"Well done, friends. It seems I abandoned you in the heat of battle - for that I must make offerings to the Emperor and serve penance to you. My order will castigate me for my shortcomings. Please, tell me how the battle went and who I may honor with the killing blow."
Next, Grim will walk over and examine the body to determine what manner of creature it was. He also looks for any items, markings, weapons, etc.

The smooth hairless humanoid was about six feet tall and fairly gangly. There is something vaguely reptilian about him.
Going over the corpse carefully, you locate:
A potion.
A potion (different type).
Spell component pouch,
A Spellbook:
All 0-level spells,
Colour spray, disguise self, burning hands, magic aura, silent image, and
ventriloquism, magic missile.
There is a well in the dark northern alcove along with a freestanding dragon statue positioned between the well and the broken wall. This statue features a single word in Kelish.
The Katana secure, you consider your next moves.
Grimaldus
|
Wary of the last time he approached a well, Grim edges closer to the dragon statue to look at it closely, along with the room in general.
Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
"Tarka, what can you tell us about this statue and well? How about the well in the other room, the one that moans?"
Aegon Semerys
|
You can shred the pages of the spellbook and then use them as ingredients in a potion you feed your familiar to learn the spells Yhen.
"Chief Tarka, we were sent here both to retrieve this sword and clear the area of undead. Do you know where we might find some shambling corpses, or perhaps know what happened to another group of Pathfinders that came here not too long ago?"
GM Shifty

Grimaldus doesn't note anything more interesting than the statue with the glyph, and at the bottom of the well he can hear the trickle of water.

Yhen notes that the potions are a potion of Blur and a potion of Cure Light Wounds.
"Think there might be some near the fire bugs" Tarka points to the as yet unexplored doorway. Nasty down there. Bugs burn and bugs bite. No adventurers, only thiefy Firestealer came here"
Yhen, unfortunately Witches familiars can't learn from spellbooks, only scrolls. Here - of someone has contra rulings I am happy to be corrected though!
Grimaldus
|
Grimaldus gathers the team and says, "I think we should continue through the door and see what we can find. Is there anything special about this jade katana? Is it magical? Does it even have an edge, or is it merely ceremonial? Kishara, do you have training with a bow? Would you like to have this one I am carrying so you can 'reach out and kill someone?' You know me...I like to be in their face with my little friend here." Grim looks over at Aegon and pats the handle of his greatsword at the same time.
Kishara
|
Kishara eyes Grimaldus with some concern and raises an eyebrow at him and reaches up to tap the shortbow strapped to her back. "You mean like this one? Did that fall rattle your melon, Grim?" She reaches up to ruffle his hair, surreptitiously feeling for a bump.
Heal check(untrained): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
"Shall I scout ahead again? I can use the bow if it makes you feel better, yes?" Kishara flashes a roguish smile and winks, looking down she notices the dust on her armor reminding her of her time spent nuzzling the dungeon floor and brushes it off with a slightly sheepish look.
Yhen
|
"SOOOOO you're not scared of undeads and what not, but afraid of the dark."
Yhen will cast Light on Grim's greatsword.
"Let there be light!" as Yhen gives Grim a pat on the back, "Hope that helps. Alright let's go."
GM Shifty
|
There is nothing more to the sword than apparently meets the eye. It seems to be a rather decorative affair, more ceremonial than anything else, and is heavily festooned with jade. There is no trace of magic.
In the room ahead, Kishara is already at work rifling through the place looking for valuables or items of interest... her attention to detail paying off handsomely as she uncovers four vials of alchemist’s fire hidden in a bag of weevil-infested flour. They appear to be labelled in Draconic.
Kishara
|
"These may come in handy, yes? Anyone else want one?" Kishara offers the vials to the party, keeping at least two for herself.
But no trade agreements in here? I guess that means we move along. Kish has put away her lantern now that Grim's sword is all lit up.
GM Shifty
|
Kish pushes forwards to investigate the next chamber.
This crossroads of stairs has one dominant feature: a crumbled statue in the southeast corner, once the image of a proud warrior chiseled roughly in granite. The statue’s helmeted head now rests on the floor, its lifeless stone eyes gazing toward the south. On the helmet, a single Kelish word is carved in the stone. The wide stairway to the north leads to a passage that ends in a cave-in ten feet past the foot of the stairs.
Grimaldus
|
"Are we ready to move on into this next big room?" Grim will wait for the group to concur, then move to check the statue and then the corner opening to the south.

The party continues to edge forward.
Cracked and crumbling frescos line the walls of this large empty room. The sections of the frescos not destroyed by the passing ages show Qadiran men engaged in battle. A rough stone tunnel leads off to the northwest, as if the ground simply cleft in two ages ago. A pile of bones rests just inside the passage.
Yhen
|
"Oh more bones.. Maybe this one will rise up and chop us into pieces?"
Yhen will check the bones for anything unusual.

In a flurry of steel and anger, Yhens wounding is avenged, and as the bones finally cease their clattering across the stones, they stir no more.
Among the pile of bones are one hundred gold coins worth of mixed coin, a golden crown (appraised at three hundred gold coins), a masterwork shortsword, and a wax-sealed tin scroll tube with a scroll which Yhen determines is of comprehend languages
Grimaldus
|
Grim offers to carry the coins in his backpack for the group. "Let's finish exploring the rooms on this level, then this fissure, and then we can progress down the stairs where we left the kobolds and see about those firebugs Takra mentioned. Yhen, are you alright? I still have that potion of healing if you need it."
Yhen

"Please,"
Yhen accepts Grim's offer for the potion of cure light wounds.

Grimaldus urges the party onwards.
This large room is dank, and a strange draft flows through it carrying with it a foul odor. Rubble is strewn here and there. A strange, slimy slick glistens down the western wall. Near the slick is a wooden door.
The only sound is a faint drip echoing from deeper in the dungeon to the east.
Looking for the source of the noise, your eyes are drawn to the long coridoor.
At the end of this corridor sits a sinister-looking fountain in a rounded alcove. A four-headed hydra, displayed in cross formation, protrudes from the middle of the rounded wall. The hydra’s heads all face directly down the hallway. Its top head’s mouth is firmly shut, its socketed eyes staring darkly down the corridor, and its head fin is flared and up. On that head fin, a single Kelish word is carved into the stone. The other three heads have toothy mouths open wide and reclined head fins; these obviously served as spouts for the fountain. Just below the mouths is a ceramic basin. The basin has been dry for many long centuries now.
Yes, that is two desriptions. The first is the room you are in, and the second is the long east west coridoor.
Grimaldus
|
"Maurit's map had an 'X' by that door with the slime AND by this hallway...which probably means there is something nasty either way...wish someone knew Kelish, now! Well, if the slime on the wall is dangerous, can we use a torch or maybe that alchmical fire Kishara found to destroy it? Maybe we should investigate that door first..."
Kishara
|
"You think that shine on the wall might be dangerous?" Kishara peers around the room, suddenly much more on guard after Yhen's ordeal.
