I think this was the other way down this hall that we were forced to go as the first hallway was a dead end.

"He may turn up again Caitlyn. I've been separated from him before and found him again.

Perhaps it is a statue of Fistandantilus. At least it is a new area to which we have not been before. It feels like we've been down here forever!"

Jakun glides forward his Fly spell still active. He casts Detect Magic once he gets within range of the statue.

"There was a shrine upstairs. What could this state be guarding, surely it can't be another one?" asked Caitlyn who was beginning to feel rather antsy. The kind of antsy that involved hammers smashing statue like things!

Jakun shrugs, "Proceed Caitlyn, there is a spell to open doors, I never realized quite how important it was until this venture..."

Caitlyn hammered at the door for some time, raising an incredible din as she pounded upon heavy iron doors. At great length, they failed with a shower of eldritch sparks. Beyond she found a short corridor with deep, shadowed alcoves to either side. Robed statues loomed within them.

"Ow my ears!" moaned Caitlyn, the din had been incredible and her ears where still ringing. Still beating on the metal till it failed had been oddly satisfying.

She poked her head through the other side and had a good look to see if there was anything alarming about the robed statues...

Jakun detected magic before he was even through the door. It reached from statue to statue, a moderate transmutation.

"Transmutation magic, we may well need to fight these statues as well if we wish to pass. Are we all well enough for such a fight?"

Caitlyn glanced round at the others before replying to Jackun, "I'm uhh a little stiff from where that statue walloped me. Mariel is putting a brave face on it but I've know her too long for her to hide things from me. She's hurt, as is Mittens."

Looks like the three of us are down a little HP according to the map, otherwise Caitlyn is good to go.

Phylactery of positive energy adds 2d6. Caitlyn could take lesser celestial totem. VMC order of the star cavilier is a big boost too.

Jakun sighs as the positive energy sweeps over him. It is a pleasant feeling even when one has suffered no injuries, to witness Mareil's connection to her God, even one that Jakun would not necessarily worship, is truly marvelous to behold.

"Soo..." asked Caitlyn, "What do you propose? Should I smash them into itty-bitty pieces?" To underscore this she smacked the head of wyrmslayer against the palm of her hand making a meaty thwack!

I am not sure which way to go. the Revered Daughter softly says.

Looks like north from Caitlyn's position is another set of doors. But from what I understand there are suspicious robed statues in the two alcoves, which she is getting antsy about.

"Let's simply smash them all just in case they are a threat. At this point, it is probably the safest bet".

Jakun approaches the statue to the left, staff at the ready prepared to strike.

Cailtlyn nods and swings her hammer mightily, grunting with effort as she brings it down on the statue. As she swings she growls, "Into ITTY-BITTY PIECES!"

I'm not sure if this will precipitate combat or if it's just a statue. In case it's the latter, I'll roll a few sunder attempts to speed things up.

Jakun approached the pair of statues untroubled, but as soon as Caitlyn and Mittens came near a sickly greenlight limned their bodies for an instant. When it faded, their armor, weapons, and every other piece of metal they held or wore had turned to wood.

The Magic of the Archmage or perhaps the Devouring Dark is present here she states.

"Damned place! Revered Daughter can you reverse that?"

Jakun began pounding at the stone statues, but it was very slow going with his staff. His own things of metal were untroubled, still of the same substance as they were when he entered the room.

Caitlyn grunted in dismay and full of sass she demanded from the universe, "What the #&*~! am I supposed to do now? Fight the undead that plague this tomb with harsh language?!"

'I am hoping that smashing these statues will reverse the effect. Otherwise, we must pray the Gods will grant us the wisdom to reverse this horrible turn of events. The further we dwell, the worse this place gets..."

Black is a lovely color. Goes very well with minotaur fur.
