I've got about 900gp left after buying my gear.
We should grab a plentiful supply of the basics - food, rope, chalk. We should also make sure at least one spellcaster can cast create water and light.
Maybe grab a donkey to lug it around, at least until we run into something that blocks donkeys?
And I'll put some ranks in Craft - Food.

Hmm, as a ranged character I'm currently slightly worried to run out of ammunition if the temple goes on for to long to be then stuck completely useless.
I'll buy a few more, but with the price it's just not intended that a gunslinger brings ammunition for 2 or so level without chance to resupply/buy more (2-3 shots per round with lets say 5 rounds per combat and I'm out pretty quickly even if I buy 100 shot).

Yes, I already calculate with half cost. 40 shot are still 240 gold.
There is a reason why Gunslinger are also called Goldslinger.^^
Usually its no problem, yes you spend more but not enough to lead to problems.
The problem is just that we start with not much more than the starting gold of level 3 (when one usually has only 1 attack, cutting the spending by a lot) AND seemingly can't really resupply for a few level.
It also does not HAVE to become a problem (afteral I have no idea how many shots I'll fire), its just something I want to clear up beforehand.

| Terquem |
I should do my homework on the Gunslinger Class. But, here is a quick question that could ease your mind. Can you use cartridges that you collect from fallen enemies?
I’ve sent out two notes to players on the memories those players have of the “incident”, and some work on those character’s wishes. I will send out two more today

Well I can't complain about that. Let's see what the net result is.
Level 4: 1d8 ⇒ 2Level 5: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Not so exciting, but perhaps character-appropriate.

Well, it seems that my character was approved (my main handle is Cosmic Dream Lord). The idea for Kaleelah is that she is a Swiss army knife druid; she does whatever is needed. Her main claim to fame is being able to summon the felines of Summon Nature's Ally, which are very strong for levels 5-10, in one standard action. Also, she has access to both Light and Create Water, and I took Craft Wondrous Item for her, so if anyone wants some cheap magical gear, just ask (assuming Terquem is alright with it). We've been together in-story for at least several months, so I don't see why Kaleelah wouldn't help her friends out on that front.
Additionally, I have purchased the obligatory Wand of Cure Light Wounds, but I think that it is best as a back up. For healing, I crafted three Pearls of Power, and if she prepares CLW in the morning, she can basically belt that sucker out four times before breaking out the wand.
Level 4: 1d8 ⇒ 1
Level 5: 1d8 ⇒ 7
EDIT: Get to reroll that Level 4.
Level 4 AGAIN: 1d8 ⇒ 5

Welcome aboard Kaleelah! and glad to see a divine caster of any sort but especially a druid.
Good call on those Pearls of Power. Syndir bought a Wand of CLW also so we should (scratch that) hopefully are good in that area.
Glad I decided to be a divine caster too! I noticed that we were lacking there and in terms of full casters in general, so I figured this would be a good character to play. A full arcane caster would be nice, but we also do have a bard.
Seems like between Azana and me, we are probably good with straight healing.
On another note, does anyone have Disable Device covered? That is important, especially in an ancient evil temple, which is prime trap territory. I could always fodder summons looking for them, but that's just a waste of a good feline.

I'm assuming that's Faelyn's territory. He proposed the following character: Jacen
If by chance the rigors of fatherhood tear him away from this game, Elise is happy to become a normal rogue instead of an acrobat (for trapfinding) and take Disable Device.

That's fair, although the change is minor. It could even be a straight skill swap without the archetype change: +5 points of DD in exchange for -5 points of whatever.
But this is all based on hypothetical need anyway. I won't mess with my character without your approval.

Yeah, between Kaleeah and myself I think we can cope with most basic injuries. The Wands are a useful back up to have. And I can Cure Serious Wounds once a day, too, on top of the spells.

MW Temple Sword
Ioun Torch
Armbands of the Brawler
Wand of CLW
Origami Swarm
No mundane gear either so I'll need a little left over for that.

Thanks for being patient, everyone. I was goofing off this weekend and playing way to many hours of Skylanders, haha
I don't think we are going to get amnymore players, and this week we will finalize the character sheets, whishes, and details.

Melee:
Syndir Apep – Human Monk (Master of Many Styles)/Sorcerer (Male) – Stiehl9s
Elise Emeria – Human Rogue (Acrobat)/Barbarian (Female) - Tazo
*Jacen Darkvalour – Rogue - Faelyn
Ranged:
Harland Hareshunt – Human Gunslinger (Musket Master) (Male) – Finkmilkana (TellerofTales)
Arcane:
Azana – Aasimar Bard (Thundercaller) (Female) – JonGarrett
Divine:
Kaleelah Highrock - Human Druid (Lion Shaman) (Female) - Cosmic Dream Lord
Seems like a good group to me!

Maybe Wand of Mage Armor, if anyone can help use it?
Which brings me back to readjusting skill points. Terquem, are you okay with us making some skill point adjustments to help round out the party? The adjustments I would propose are quite minor, as follows:
+5 Use Magic Device for -5 Linguistics. A patch for our missing wizard/sorcerer. And Elise can then use the wand I'm suggesting.
+5 Disable Device for -4 Knowledge (nature), -1 Ride (if Faelyn doesn't return). Pretty important for somebody to have this.

Hey guys... still here and interested! Been very busy with the little one but I'm still in for the long haul. I'm going to post wish in a little bit when I get home. And Jacen is a knifemaster build so he doesn't have trapfind either lol. Soooo... we can talk that little detail out.
In reference to that... I've been thinking of maybe going straight rogue instead. Thoughts?

Syndir could use a Wand of Mage Armor just fine; being a sorcerer, Mage Armor is on his list.
Kaleelah has a +10 Knowledge (Nature), so that might not be a bad skill for Elise to take ranks from.
Speaking of which, I have some questions.
1) Is there anyway I can subscribe/favorite this thread to keep track of it?
2) With DM approval, Kaleelah has Craft Wondrous Item, and the group's been together for a while, so the crafting time is obviously there. Perhaps we could pool some of the remaining money and have Kaleelah make a few magic items for everyone?

You can list a thread, although I don't find it that useful to do so.
Azana has the Truespeaker racial ability, so I can speak a lot of languages. That being said, I suggest we all pick up one less common tongue so we can communicate in something other than common. I've found it useful a time of two when adventuring. If we've been together a while we could even have 'party speak', our own code.
I'd suggest we get some Bandages of Rapid Recovery to help out with ability damage when we don't want to burn spells and maybe a rope of climbing to help out if some of our climb checks are a bit naff.

The Wand of Mage armor is a good idea. That will free up his spell slot for something else...<off to look at spells>

Okay, here is an update:
I've sent out 4 "stories" telling those players what they know about the incident (the events in the previous temple)
I need to send similar stories to Kaleelah and Jacen
I still need to send specific wish mechanics to Syndir and Harland (and the drawbacks associated with those wishes, we can work these out, they are negotiable)
I am still waiting on Wish ideas from Kaleelah and Jacen
I see no reason that kaleelah would not have made items for the party, but remember to keep the total cost to under 4000 gold for each character ( and you can use the cost to manufacture items that Kaleelah would have been able to create)
I don't want any players feeling like I sprung a surprise on them, so I'm letting you know now that the temple compound you will be exploring is partially submerged. You should prepare for that.

Thanks for that head's up, Azana's swim check was...not going to see us through there.
Does anyone know of any items that'll allow us to breath underwater and don't cost more than our entire party wealth?

Hey Ter... sorry I haven't posted my wish yet. Been having some newborn complications. I know what the wish is going to be and a drawback, but coming up with making the drawback work mechanically is where I'm coming up short.
Barring anymore issues tonight I will post Jacen's wish. Also... should one of the rogues have disable traps?

Well, let's see. Kaleelah wished she had the power/means to stop everything from going to the Abyss and back a second time, so let's work along those lines. Maybe the Powers That Be interpreted that as a desire for greater personal strength.
How about access to the Cleric spell list?
It might seem like an immediate boon, but that would probably keep her out of Wild Shaping for a very long time since now everyone expects her to have X useful spell on her. No Natural Spell = Much Less Useful Druid. We don't have a tank here, and Kaleelah does intend to eventually start helping out on the frontlines once she figures out how to Wild Shape. However, if she needs access to X spell and can't use the darn thing in her stronger form... well, why bother?
Stronger Nala (Lioness Animal Companion)?
Lion Shamans Wild Shape into Felines at an effective Level + 2 rate. Maybe Nala was boosted to Large Size much too early (5 + 2 = 7), complete with all the bells and whistles that comes with it but some terrible implications. As a draw back, maybe since Nala was forced to mature too quickly, her mind was damaged in a way that Kaleelah is still trying to heal; her Animal Companion is prone to going into a rage, and Kaleelah has to drop everything and try to keep her tame. Super!Nala might be a valuable asset in combat, and while she would never attack Kaleelah (unless really out of it) given their strength of bond, that matters little if the cat is trying to eat an ally.
Maybe by this point, Kaleelah has thrown in the towel and just keeps Nala in statue form as per Carry Companion. Nala is by far the Shaman's biggest "summon" if you will, but she is emotionally exhausting to control. Also, getting her back into storage form requires burning a spell. Kaleelah is probably going to need every last one of those. The additional drawback here is that Kaleelah also dedicated a feat (Boon Companion) to bring Nala up to strength with where she should be.
Too strong? How about Superior Summon as a bonus feat? Drawback? No multiple summoning cats until Level 7!
Summon Monster to get Celestial template cats instead of Summon Nature's Ally ones that just show up normal?

This leather sack sealed with tar or pitch keeps delicate items from being ruined by water.
