"Well struck," Letitia says to Callix. I think that's a DC 52 fort save to not die, assuming that 42 points doesn't kill it outright.

While the others get ready to inspect the other door, she calls out, "Mind the spot where Alec placed the trap."

Then she briefly checks out the room where the two "goblins" were, doing a quick sweep with detect magic.

Before we move on, anything of interest in the two rooms we've just cleared?

"Well done" Alec said with a nod. He followed Samuel out of the room to the other set of doors and stood opposite his friend, sheathing his sword and readying his spear.

He took a moment to listen at the doors as Letitia took a quick look around the other rooms.

Callix uses her flaming axe to put a swift end to the last troll.

you find a total of 63 gold pieces scattered around the trolls belongings both on the trolls you killed as well as in their trunks by the beds. otherwise the trunks mostly contain smelly clothing and other worthless effects.

Alec and Samuel are ready to move on, and position themselves at the next doorway.

Alec listens at the door, but the echoing sounds of clockwork in the tower make it really hard to hear anything else

When Alec doesn't hear anything beyond the door, Letitia frowns. "It seems the alarm was not raised, then. Good for us."

She turns to the warpriest. "Callix, you were injured. Do you plan to use the wand? I've a healing hex that can probably remove all your wounds, but I won't be able to use it again on you until this time tomorrow."

A strange smile touches the corners of Letitia's mouth. "I may be the first Winter Witch who has ever learned that hex. Helping and healing others was not... something I was taught." Her smile fades and she looks away, pensive.

She coughs lightly and straightens. "Well, keeping you all alive works in my favor, certainly."

"Well, if we cannot hear other than gears clicking, we will have to risk in" Samuel let's others lead on through the door, but if the frontliners hesitate, he does not mind stepping forward and opening the eastern door himself.

after taking a breather and healing Callix, the group is ready to move on. Samuel listens at the door, and is able to make out some more sounds partially obscured by the loud echoes of the clock tower. he hears a banging metallic noise. it sounds like metal striking metal, but from here it is hard to tell if it is someone fighting or some other piece of machinery.

Alec tries the door and finds it unlocked.

please mark your locations on the map. I'm assuming you wouldn't go in until ashling callix and letita are back with you.

Entirely self taught, We, my family. Lived outside the Irrisen borders. I hunted with Father, while he stayed home with mother. He... also fashioned these odd little fireworks that explode like your weapon, i believe he used that powder as well. I've always like the children of the stone, loyal and strong. Honorable it's hard to tell what Ashling is thinking as she holds a blank face, her hand on her sword just in case, If... its not to personal, how did your parents pass?

Samuel and Ashling begin discussing their families, but their conversation is cut short as they open the door to find another troll!

the room is lined with weapon racks holding many different sizes of weapons. two armored dummies stand in corners of the room, and a large table sits near the middle of the room covered in scraps of metal and weapons.

in addition to another big troll there is an ugly troll-like creature on four legs. a trollhound.

the troll is sharpening an axe, but is alert enough to notice the door open and yells at the hound to attack

Callix starts to move, ducking as instructed when the loud blast happens, making her ears ring. More fire, right... I was saving this for the dragon... She closes her eyes a moment and causes her blade to once more burst into flame as she swings down at the hound. "I was saving it for the last strike!", she says, her voice louder than she realizes (or intends).

Alec had never seen anything like the troll hound before, but it was an animal and he a hunter. His spear stabbed forward, his shield ready to block the massive jaws of the beast, just like his father had taught him.

Spear of Mancatching: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

together, the party takes down the hound. the fire of Callix's axe keeps it from coming back.

the full troll is hit by a bullet (which starts to heal immediately of course), then attacks Callix

The troll's skin quickly catches fire, and the regeneration stops immediately. the door to the north opens, and you see a smaller creature, more goblinoid than trollish. it has white fur, and carries an axe made of bone.

behind the goblinoid you see several cages. inside the cages are 6 small human children. they look like they have not been treated very well.
