I've decided that if the plan is to have another arcane caster join the party, I will avoid taking Epic and Signature Casting to get 3rd level spells. In that event, I would go back to taking Twist Away. Just wanted to signal that plan here.
Going back to loot, I'd like to take the Ring of Protection +1.
Does Trellara need a Cloak of Resistance +1 and/or a Mithral Chain Shirt +2? Doesn't seem like there are other takers for those items, and they seem useful for her.
GM Zelligar
Okay, moving you on to Brindol next, probably after a stop in Witchcross. Have to figure out which (if any) of the optional 'events' to run or just move things ahead.
Busy lately, and lots of work through Friday afternoon, but should be able to update Friday night.
Thanks for your patience.
Hamailii, do you have your feats squared away? Can you update on your sheet?
Tal'ariel Rhuidon
Hey all, I'm heading on vacation to South America starting Wednesday for a week and a half. I expect I can still post on occasion but it's at least possible I'll miss some time. Feel free to bot me as needed.
*Edit* - Hey, having arrived in Brindol, can I start selling / distributing all the items that have accumulated on the Loot Table? It would be nice to make a distribution so I can start up a new sheet!
GM Zelligar
So what exactly are you looking to sell, and what are you looking to acquire?
You have one Type 1 Bag of Holding, and one Handy Haversack. While we haven't been tracking this, it would not be reasonable to say you are carrying all the things you have looted along the way.
It might be reasonable to say you left some things where they were and the Tiri Kitor went back and got the bows and armor from Rhest. Or that soldiers from Witchcross went up to the roadblock to get that gear.
There is a lot of very bulky stuff on that loot list. Especially the armor (and to a degree the bows and swords). What of the more compact or valuable stuff do you actually have with you?
The Bag of Holding can hold 250 lbs. Volume is really tricky to figure out with armor, so let's just go by weight. I'm going to assume you don't have any of the non-magical armor, or the shields, or the minotaur's Large greataxe.
The 18 MW Composite longbows you have would be 54 lbs, the 16 MW longswords would be 64 lbs, the 2 MW bastard swords would be 12 lbs - that's 130. The 2 +1 Breastplates add another 30 lbs each (190), the +1 Chain Shirt and MW Chain Shirt another 40 (230)... so, yes, you should be able to carry everything else between the Bag of Holding and the Haversack.
Tal'ariel Rhuidon
Okay, so we cross out the nonmagical armor, shields, or that large greataxe, and we have everything else available? That sounds more than reasonable.
Tal'ariel Rhuidon
Fell ill during international travels, I'll be fine, but please bot me for now.
GM Zelligar
So I'm hoping for loot to be more in keeping with fantasy stories - found items or mutual gift-giving - rather than the accounting-based system that 3.X typically relies on.
If you feel that you are significantly behind the power curve in some area, feel free to send me a note.
Immerstal the Red has Brew Potion, Craft Wondrous Item, Craft Wand, Scribe Scroll, and Forge Ring. He is a wizard with CL7 (though of course does not have 4th-level spells).
This is a good opportunity for Tal'ariel to pick up scrolls of Wiz3 spells. I don't know what's up with my friend who wanted to join, will check in again with him.
The Cathedral of Iomedae could conceivably have nearly any sort of non-evil magic item that is not affiliated with a different deity. They could even have some relics that could not normally be crafted in P6 (like a +1 Lesser Metamagic Rod). In this case, you are not actually haggling with them, but with Fate. The cathedral (or Lord Jarmaath) will just happen to have items they can give you that are worth about 3,000 gp.
Gaius Trevelyan
Good idea. Always nice to keep a degree of realism. Gaius is fine for wealth as we established, so he's just building his muscles!
Tal'ariel Rhuidon
I know I owe a post, just been having a rough time. Aim is tomorrow. Feel free to press on regardless.
Gaius Trevelyan
Going to just save my share I think - I need 2k more to upgrade one of my swords and another 8 after that for the other, so best to save I think!
Tal'ariel Rhuidon
If it's possible to enchant her armor with Spell-Storing, Tal'ariel would like to do so.
GM Zelligar
Hmmm... +3 armor for Gaius would require a level 9 caster, which is outside the scope of E6 even with Epic and Signature feats. So at that point you are looking for a lesser artifact (something not unique, but cannot be crafted by normal means). Perhaps you will find such a set as treasure.
Immerstal could craft for you a pair of Scabbards of Vigor that would let you get a higher bonus on your swords for a short period of time. Or, you could save up to get both swords to +2.
And for Tal'ariel Spell Storing requires CL 12. Normally those are "default assumed caster level" and not "strictly required caster level" except where - as for Spell Storing - it is explicitly spelled out in "construction requirements." Even if it weren't, I'd try to use that as a guideline. So that's a no.
There are a number of things already crafted in Immerstal's shop. Lot of well-made clothing items that are quite stylish as well as magical. The man does have an eye for design.
Sipping Jacket
Vest of Escape
Swordmaster’s Shirt
Gloves of Arrow Snaring
Gloves of Marking
Slipper of Spider Climbing
Feather Step Slippers
Daredevil Boots
Buffering Cap
Additionally, he can add upgrade existing items (such as +2 Dex to Hamailii's belt, or +1 Resistance to her Cloak of the Night Sky).
The Temple of Iomedae has a relic they can provide to Hamailii for as long as she needs it; a Lesser Reach Metamagic Rod. (This is worth 3,000 gp normally, but cannot be crafted in E6.) They explain that it has been in their custody for decades, though their best guess is that it has a connection to Nethys, not Iomedae. Nethys doesn't seem too particular about who uses it.

More Dex, more resistance and the rod, all of that sounds quite good and i would take any of it!
I'm curious now wether you have certain situations and spells in mind with that rod :D
But since i'm quite fine with magical stuff, i'll let the rest take precedence.
Tal'ariel Rhuidon
The Sipping Jacket looks very useful. I almost think it should go to one of our fighters! Tal is interested in purchasing that if nobody else wants it.
I remember using a Rod of Reach to cast Protection from Evil: Communal on my party. That spell technically has a range of touch, and I would never start any combat within touch range of the entire party. Rod of Reach totally solves that problem!

Computer at home has broken down, until fixed posting depends on other devices with unreliable availability.
Hope to have this fixed soon :(
Tal'ariel Rhuidon
Sorry to hear that Hamailii. :(
Instead of the Sipping Jacket, could Tal'ariel get the following item to aid in sneaking around:
Shawl of Shadowy Disguise.
I get that it might need to be crafted since it's not in store.
Gaius Trevelyan
I'll go for the Sipping Jacket I think - it's a useful item as long as we have potions to pour on it! :)
Then saving money for better swords!
GM Zelligar
That shawl seems like something they might have around. Will write up a scene for it.
Gaius, the Sipping Jacket is quite useful and you guys have a lot of healing potions. And you have several NPCs who have offered to provide potions to the party. The wording is unclear but I think RAI is that "measured in rounds" means "1 round/level" - no quibbling that "1 min/level" is technically "10 rounds/level." Displacement, Haste, and Vanish are a few of the useful options.
Shawl for Tal'ariel: 1,350
Jacket for Gaius: 5,000
Boots for Bran: 1,000
Cloak to +2 for Bran: 3,000
Dex to belt for Hamailii: 6,000
Resistance to cloak for Hamailii: 1,500
(Suggestion: Scrolls of 4 3rd-level spells for Tal'ariel: 1500)
Subtotal: 19,350
Heroes of Brindol discount: 1,935
New total: 17,415 (so about 2500 left).
Ready to move on?
Tal'ariel Rhuidon
Woot! Go team Elf!
Bran can be an honorary member, of course. :P
Bran O'Dimm
Who wrote this?
It does something when you have a non-magical weapon, does nothing at +1, then does something at +2, +3, +4 and +5.
I'm so upset right now, would have been the perfect time to use it.
Tal'ariel Rhuidon
Is there a map for this? Not necessary, but just want to check.
Also, is the creature still in the wall, and if so does that make it harder to hit? Want to make sure I understand the rules here.
GM Zelligar
Map is up.
(Or click on "Combat Maps" above).
The lion is no longer in the wall - it took a 5' step and attacked during the surprise round.

Uhm, do we have a link to the E6 document we use somewhere?
My computer broke and i can't find it anymore.
I wanted to copy the E6 feats i took onto the character sheet.
GM Zelligar
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Here it is Hamailii. Again, this is just a starting point - it doesn't take into account archetypes, multiclassing, or non-Core classes. And I'm willing to modify the feats in there or invent new custom ones.
Tal'ariel Rhuidon
Oh man, Silence isn't a Wizard spell? I clearly need to brush up on studying my spellbook!
Gaius Trevelyan
Out of character - sorry about that. Gaius was never the most sociable and now he's badly down Cha, even less so!
Gaius Trevelyan
But he is going to react badly to insults - prickly got pricklier! :) Luckily we have sensible people and as you say, he isn't Int damaged. He won't keep the fight going just cause!
