An Epic feat would grant a capability you would get at 7th character level (Brd4 or Gun4). A Signature feat would grant an ability you would gain at 8th (so Brd5 or Gun5).
I'm willing to be flexible. What would be good for Shishka?

In case you don't already know, you are able to take an ordinary feat instead of a P6 Codex feat. So whatever feat you might have had in mind could still work.

Not I. Bran has a lack of Charisma.
Not sure how he would even handle one to be honest.


If you wanted Trellara as a cohort, she would accompany you regardless of Cha. Basically, she'd be a GMPC. She'd use bardic performance and spells to support you.
I will send PMs to Shishka and Seltazar but I am unsure if they are still around. So you might be down to 4 PCs if they have drifted off.

I like how you're introducing a cohort naturally into the game. I remember a GM in one of my old table games that would do this every so often, and it was always a big moment. We were really bad at keeping our cohorts alive, though . . .

Hm . . . I know you suggested a point in Perform, but I'm not sure how to properly "peform" at a funeral. It doesn't really fit the bill, in my mind, unless I'm giving an eloquent eulogy (hard when not knowing the deceased) or maybe a haunting ode.

If Tal'ariel were to take up something, it would probably be Artistry (poetry).


There will be singing, dancing, and storytelling after the funeral. That part is not somber or melancholy.

That's a possibility. Or an Epic feat to cast as Brd4 might be reasonable. That grants some great spells like Invisibility and Heroism.

The Greater Spell Casting epic feat would give Mikail a single 3rd-level slot per day, as it would for a bard.
Alternatively, Sacred Armor would work as an Epic feat.
You could get Fervor (3d6), Sacred Weapon +2, or Greater Weapon Focus as a Signature feat.
Finally, you can just take a regular feat for which you qualify, like Power Attack, Improved Weapon of the Chosen, or Heavenly Radiance or any of a number of other things.
Is there anything you would like Mikail to be better at?


I haven't heard back from Seltazar, and he hasn't posted in quite a while, so he is going to stay here at Starsong Hill to peruse their archives in search of some answers. If he returns, he returns.

I could bring in another from the last recruitment, or we could continue with 5 plus the NPC cohort. Thoughts?

And I'll get a longer post in Gameplay tonight with the Trellara scene.

I say we march on. We have a core group here. Putting more work on you to recruit is hardly fair after everything you've done.

But ultimately that's just my opinion. Whatever you all think works.

Yep, a group of 5 is a pretty good size. And it's not bad to give Seltazar a chance to rejoin if his work situation improves.

Okay, I get that people get busy sometimes. But we need to sustain momentum. And please don't ghost. If you are getting really busy with work or family obligations, you can tell me, take a hiatus, and come back when you can. That is far more considerate than ghosting.
Thom and Seltazar both seem to be AWOL. They will stay here at Starsong Hill for now. Trellara will accompany you as Bran's cohort. I will also bring in one of the submissions from the prior recruitment.
Mikail and Shishka, please make sure you are checking at least every other day (and preferably every day) even if we are not in combat. Anybody absent for 24 hours in a combat will be botted; anybody absent for a week will be inactive (off on a side quest or something) until they come back.

I am too busy for the next several days to think about potions . . . how are we doing on curative wands? I am always in the market for those if we don't have one (if GM Zelligar allows it). Mind you, I have my own Infernal Healing wand, but we know that only Tal'ariel likes to use that, and she's starting to hide her use.


You have a lot of healing potions from all the hobgoblins. 25 or more, I think. Wands you can probably get in Brindol after you finish here.

For potions, druid spells might be useful if Thom is MIA. Cleric spells might be useful as well, especially ones that Mikail can't cast.

I did not know how much we could ask for, so I kept it humble and asked for 2 scrolls each with 2 cure moderate wounds spells. I would like to get some restoration scrolls as well, and maybe something for protection...but I do not want to seem greedy!!

I'm still thinking but Lesser Restoration, Remove/Delay X are probably what Zelligar is referring. We need to be able to deal with the swamp and the various nasties that lie in wait.

Also Bull's Strength is pretty sweet if we have a bit extra (super greedy there).

Let's assume we are fighting a black dragon. Our strategy will be again to send a beefed up, flying Bran into action. What spells do I memorize?

I think the basics are Resist Energy x2 against acid (one for Bran, not sure who else), Enlarge Person on Bran, and maybe Feather Fall in case Bran starts to fall.

Do we have a way to send Bran flying? That seems to be the key to allowing anything else to work.

It seems the creature doesn not have reach, we could maneuver into 10 feet distance so Hamailii can attack with her spear (wich has reach) and maybe get some AoO's or we can both attack from the distance, both is fine.

Yeah, the dice have not been kind here. The creature isn't that tough (CR7) but has had everything fall its way, aside from Mikail's crit. The party did find an elixir of Reincarnation, if you recall...

Looking at the wording of Adrenaline Rush and Dare it seems that you can have multiple (unique) Dares per Adrenaline Rush, assuming you spend the Swift, the Round and declare it.

Whether this would fall under the Dare of Escape the Grapple or be a new one, I don't know. It honestly seems a little vague. In this case I feel the Dare would still be about escaping the Grapple. I traditionally err on caution with vague abilities that require Player "vows" and stuff so YMMV.

Either way, let's see how it falls!
