At this time of thanksgiving, I wanted to take a moment to be thankful for my online PbP community. I'm not the best PbP GM. Often busy and inattentive. But I am thankful for the generous and creative people that I have found on this forum to play games with with. They allow me to indulge in games I otherwise would not be able to play. To connect with people I otherwise would never encounter. To have a few moments every day that are sublime. Whether high fantasy, low modern, or science fiction, than you for your contributions to my life. Know that you might often feel neglected, but I hope you will believe that each of the people in my games is one of the best things in my life. I am thankful for each of you.

Posting this to all my games, so sorry if you see it multiple times:
This week both my office and I personally are going to be moving. It's been crazy busy and I am not going to be able to post until Monday at the earliest. Please bot me if I am in your game, and if you are in a game I am running, I will get a post up as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience.

So I am posting from work:
Apologies about not posting sooner, but I have been down internet wise for roughly a week, and will not have internet back up yet for a week or so.
This means that I haven't had internet for the last 4 days (as we had 4 days off at my work for the holiday).
It's been...an experience where I learned that I use the internet more than I thought I did.
With all of that being said, I will try to post from work as I can, but if I am in your game, please bot me as needed.
If I am running your game, please bear with me while I try to post when I can. Hopefully, sooner than better, but I want to be up front about this issue.
again, I apologize about the delay.

I am posting this to all of my games, so apologies if you see this multiple times:
Unfortunately, I have some bad news.
A combination of work-related stuff has lead to me having to take some time off from the forums. I am, in all honesty, going to need to be gone for several months, as I am going to be travelling for extended periods of time (weeks or more) and I'll likely not have good access to the internet.
As I am not someone who would want to have you all sit and wait for me here, I am going to be withdrawing/closing all of my open forum games.
I want to thank everyone who I have had the pleasure to game with over the last couple of years here, as I have immensely enjoyed my time on the forums, and hopefully, once my work stabilizes, I will be able to rejoin the community.
Thank you again for your time and energy, and I am sorry that I won't be able to keep things moving forward in any of the games that I am running.

I don't see why not. It seems to me that Reign of Winter and real world hybrids are both quite popular, and the AA classes are easy to understand. Except maybe the ESP part.

I think that would depend on how you guys feel about it. Part of the allure for me is watching your characters flail around in ignorance, but at some point it might make sense to include a local guide. Thinking of the period literature that we are emulating, a local guide tends to show up and help the characters along.
William M. Johnson
I'm fine with either. If we want another frontline, Golarion offers great variety, while the real world would likely restrict us to ring fighters and fencing enthusiasts. And I agree that making sense of the world is one of the funniest parts (I'm itching to get the magic items we have identified).

I think it would depend a lot on what PF character came in.
A martial type would work well.
But I admit that I'd be unhappy to see any full spellcaster. They'd just be so much more powerful than our characters they'd end up basically totally stealing the show
Naajy Singh
Yeah, they all look fairly good to me. I admit to a mild preference for another "Out of water (ie, from our world)" character mostly because I like the "holy <expletive>, what is THAT?" side of the game.

Trust me, Golarion has plenty of things to make even a native swear in confusion.
Also, dot.
How did we want to handle hit points past lv1?
Sir Walter Aringham
Well, when one serves the crown...
But yeah, I'm British and an archaeologist (Walter's regiment and its history are actually accurate if you're wondering - I am the History Nerd) so it seemed wise to abuse both these things. Wot!?
William M. Johnson
So, fair word of advice, my character is British but I'm not, so if I write something unforgivable I'm sorry in advance.
Welcome, both of you!

I truly love this campaign.
Full hp for levels 2 and 3. I'll probably dial that back when we get to level 4. Just wanted everyone to live through the first few levels.
I have an unexpected day off on Wednesday, so I'll look through new characters then.
We should be able to get the new folks incorporated pretty quickly. Note that neither of them will be benefiting from the Mantle of the Rider, so they won't be able to talk to each other. That should lead to some fun.

I can't wait! I'm so excited.
I'm thinking of my first reaction when I see you guys and I'm amused by the idea that a motley crew comprised of several nationalities is most likely a team of Pathfinders in a native's frame of reference.
Just being confused is also valid. Just kinda looking up and going "... Who are you?"
Sir Walter Aringham
Hmmm...maybe I should have put points into Linguistics, instead of the traditional British communication with foreigners - talk louder and slower until they get what I want.
...nah.
Don't worry William, it's not like most people know what the early 1900's British Empire was like. I mean, I do, but I'm special. And it'll be nice to have someone I can mention Curly Wurly to and not get a blank look, Naajy.
Sir Walter Aringham
Apparently, not all the Cadbury range has been Krafted, but yes. There are a lot. My personal favourite is the Whisper, a bar of chocolate that has been aerated to make it bubbly.
Mostly, though, I've been eating through a giant box of Thorntons recently.
Naajy Singh
If you look in my profile I've got cheat notes on how it works. Abridged a little from the books.
This thing with the ravens was definitely a case of my pushing things a little in a direction that made sense to me. The GM was definitely interpreting things literally in my favour.
For which I thank the GM :-)

I'm trained in Knowledge(religion): is it believable that I may have read about Gozreh during my short dive into the library (or that I can recall it with a check)?
"Digger" Brautigan
Dropping this in all my games. I started a new work assignment today that leaves me with less posting time. How much less I'm not sure, but my teacher hours mean I can still post every day. I'm not quitting by any means, just letting you know my posting hours will be more limited.
William M. Johnson
So, do we want to get the cleric out of our face and keep looking through the tower, or try and get to the closest city (Whitethrone, I think)? I vote for the second.
Sir Walter Aringham
Well, I think Walter would like to burn the place down - the torture and all, doncha know - but likes his life and freedom to revenge. He'll follow if people wanna leave.
William M. Johnson
I'm in the middle of an organizational nightmare, I'll try to update in the next 12-24 hours. Sorry for the delay.
William M. Johnson
Whoops, I just discovered that the usage of "Master" as a courtesy title for non-nobles has not been in use since the Elizabethan period, and is now only used for boys. Apologies to anyone I addressed incorrectly.

As much as I like confirming crits, are you sure that the confirm hit? The ice soldiers were providing him with cover for +4 AC.
Although I forgot to add the bonus for PBS, so it would be a 13.
I'll post as soon as I can figure out how to outthink a Fort save.
