"I knows whut I wud sell 'im. Dis pair of nordlings here. Bonegnaw is a slaver and they would bring a pretty price fer the pair!"

"I ain't got no boat. I came here on the barge with two udder guys to sell dragonsmoke."

The Vintage is captained by Captain Montgomery and he has a first mate Jenkie Barnes as his only crew.

"Naw, I wuz there with two other guys for him to check us out before he wud sell to us. Might say you wanted to sell?"

"I'm de one dat knows the password so ya better play nice blondie!"

"I thought we wuz takin' a boat in, not swimmin!"

"Only wuz there once, so don't know. We wuz on the beach, but he's got men all over. A lot more than 8-10 as I remember. More like a dozen."

"I never seen no guns, just crossbows on the cliff." He will draw a very crude map

Silas might need him after Ivar's 13 intimidate!

Garreg takes one look at the hulking Tulita, "You seem to have an endless supply of 'des! This one is bigger than the last one! I'm comin'!"
With that Garreg grabs his gear and accompanies the three wherever they wish to go!

Garreg has the look of fright in his eyes at that thought! "Oh, no.... Anything but to face that mask again! I'll lead ya!" With that he eyes the big barbarian with some angst and follows Silas out the door.

When Silas goes to speak to Gerreg, he seems more than a bit surprised to see him. "You again? I though you skipped town wit' the rest of yer crew?"

His eyes are darting around as if looking for someone.

Dang, I sure hope that crazy Tulita isn't with dis guy agin! He wus scary wit dat mask of his.

"Morning tide is 3 bells. Meet at dock 28."

How do you normally approach the cove? In my fishing sloop.
How suspicious would he be of a ship even with you on turning up unannounced? Since I knows the password, prolly not.
I also want to ask you about Barrett.
What backrooms are there at the Barnacle? Dunno
When did you see him and the priest in blue robes? A couple of months ago.
What defences does Barrett have?" Dunno

"They are beasties. I know snakes and hawks and such. These ain't nuttin' like I've ever seen. Some like a scrawny chicken, one that flies with tail spikes.

Sorry Morgan, missed those earlier

Has Garreg actually had personal dealings with Bonegnaw? Only business
Is there a way to come at them from a blindside/cliff? yes, but it ain't an easy climb down.
What are the smugglers usual nocturnal/diurnal activities? Have only been there during the day.
Is there anything Bonegnaw particularly craves/fears? Does he have a weakness? He don't like the Ring none. Whut does a Gnoll crave or fear?

Garreg is waiting for the party outside the chapter house upon their return. He suggests heading to a hole in the wall tavern he knows for a more discreet conversation.

"The ring has spies that watch this place."

Garreg appeals to Beth for mercy!

"Whut? I am a businessman? You don't want my help, find the cove yerself!"

"Bonegnaw ain't human, he's gnoll. The cove is well protected with only one entrance from the sea, but I know the password. As you kinda need me, I want an equal share."

"I know where Bonegnaw's lair is. Once you have had a chance to lick yer wounds I kin lead ya there!"

"If ya wants, I'll take ya to where da deal is going down. I have the 100 GP needed for the bag of smoke."

"Nope"

"Wanna buy a map to Garr Bloodbane’s gold?"

"I told ya Crook Back Pier at midnight. They bring a barge in for the local suppliers. There are usually around five of them and two guards. Bonegnaw runs the entire operation, but he won't be there. He never is."

Sheesh, family friendly I know. Now I am rolling 2's to your 17's!

"I just sell a little Dragonsmoke. Barrett is the guy you want. I seen 'im drag bodies in the back of the Barnacle and they never come back. Saw one a few months ago in a blue cloak, like hers,"pointing at Beth.

"Whut do ya wanna know?"

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (2) + 12 = 14

All the sudden he gets quiet.

Splitting a gut laughing,"You guys serve peanuts with the entertainment?"

"There is a big shipment coming in at midnight at Crook Back Pier."

Garreg is not refusing to go,"What do you wanna know? I can get you smoke cheap."

"Captain? I am just a businessman trying to make a profit. I just drink there. I don't have anything to do with Barrett's business."

"Perhaps you are the ones that should think about surrendering!

Was wondering what you were going to do with the slashers. Not sure how the author expects level 5s to grapple a CMD of 47. I am moving the game to Saturday so there will be a realignment of players.

Saves vs Web DC 16 reflex
Dragoon1: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Dragoon2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Dragoon3: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

With that Barrett's readied action goes off (any offensive action).
Barrett: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 271d12 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12

I am not sure how far away you and Sandman were planning to be Beth. This should get you in striking distance of the tavern in round two to follow the enemy in initiative.

That is a miss also. Jequette has the better dex so she is next. Sandman is even slower so he will follow Obi in round two. Morgan is last.

Yeah, that is going to miss.

Garreg, stands up pulling his short sword and attacks:

Garreg: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 71d6 ⇒ 1

The bartender pulls his greataxe and readies. The five off-duty dragoons stand up and pull rapiers. The bar wench moves to the front door and shuts it.

If they are close enough I will roll init for them on the following round

Round 2 inits for them:

Beth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Sandman: 1d20 ⇒ 7

map2.

You are first up in round one Silas. Your stated action is your action in the surprise round following his shot. You have the better dex.

Kind of figured this would lead to combat!

With any action, but taking the pipe his readied action goes off:

light crossbow: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 271d8 + 3d6 ⇒ (6) + (2, 2, 4) = 14

Initiative:

Garreg and co: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Silas: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Jequette: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Morgan: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Obi: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

You hear the tell tale sounds of a crossbow hammer being pulled back under the table. "Can't trust someone who don't sample the merchandise"

Jequette, as you scan the room the five other patrons are obviously battle scarred veterans bearing rapiers from their scars. You also spot a great axe behind the bar of some quality.

"Bring a bottle," he tells the serving wench.

After the two of you down a little over half a bottle (the whole bottle if Obi is joining you) he offers you a smoke off his pipe (without question Dragonsmoke), "Something to discuss business over"

"Buy me a drink or a dozen and maybe we can talk!"

As you enter the Barnacle, you will observe six patrons besides the drunks passed out on the floor. Two sit at the bar, three sit together and one by himself. A dwarf tends bar. The five are obviously armed with rapiers. The man sitting by himself looks to Silas like they are in similar occupations.
