| Brand Merrywine |
Sad panda! Why'd you have to do me first? :P
"That's...a little better? I guess I just need to sleep it off some. Remind me to not mess with black skeletons in the future. Those boys are nasty."
Cuthalian
|
"Splendid job Thoron," Cuthalian says stretching his arms and flexing his hands. "Shall we see what else we can find?"
| Brand Merrywine |
"Indeed, I guess there is nothing for it."
Brand goes and listens at the door for a moment to ensure there is nothing unpleasant waiting for them on the other side before they begin removing the doorstops.
Perception through the door: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Cuthalian
|
"The long north-south hallway outside this room looks as if it turns on the south side. I think we should jam the door on the north side shut and then investigate the southern area." Cuthalian suggests.
Cuthalian
|
"We just keep the same ones. I have three pitons for just such occasions. Pull them free when we are ready to move through the jammed door."
| brvheart |
You go down to the end of the hall and it turns right. There is a door to the right and another one further down on the left.
Cuthalian
|
I’ll take point. Cuthalian offers before they begin.
Later in the southern hall, Everyone ready to try this first door? Once he gets an affirmative from all, he opens the door as violently as possible.
| Brand Merrywine |
Scimitar at the ready, but still without the buckler on his arm, Brand nods his readiness.
Since I am not at full strength yet I will need to stay at the lower AC option for the time being to remain nimble. Stupid encumberance rules.
| brvheart |
Everything is this room is smashed, but is kept in a neat pile by a
magical broom that sweeps everything into the center of the room.
Cuthalian
|
"Rather anti-climactic though." Cuthalian says. "What do you think the thing will do if we try to take it away from its sweeping? I'd hate for one of you to have to put on my tombstone 'killed by angry broom'."
| brvheart |
And with that the broom stops sweeping and stays at rest in the center of the room.
Cuthalian
|
Once the broom is stationary, whether it stays that way or after it sweeps up the rock, Cuthalian steps in to grasp it to see how it reacts.
Cuthalian
|
Cuthalian looks at the others with a shrug, "Take it with us?"
| Brand Merrywine |
"An enchanted broomstick? I can't imagine it will do us much good. But I guess if we ever get out of here somebody might pay money for it. "
Cuthalian
|
Cuthalian takes a moment to strap the broom to his pack and then moves back out to the hall. Stepping down to the next door he looks behind him at the others, Ready? Assuming all is a go he violently opens the door, kicking it open if it feels as if it is not latched, turning the handle and shoving if it is latched.
| brvheart |
On the floor of the room are 3 rows of 100 cp each. The first row is all heads, the second is all tails, and the third all heads again. Unfortunately, before the party can determine this unusual arrangement, they must deal with five ogres who are intently sorting the coins, and who quickly grab their weapons and attack. Roll initiative!
init ogres: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Cuthalian
|
Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
| Brand Merrywine |
Brand Ini: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Cuthalian
|
looks like we were stunned to find ogres in the room. Do we get surprise round actions before they pounce?
| brvheart |
Initiative Order Round One
Sivash
Mitleid
Cuthalian
Ogres
Brand
Thoron
Cuthalian
|
Since Ogres are large it looks like i can strike one from the doorway. If not I will hold my action until one steps up.
"Death be upon you beast!" (judgement of justice and power attack) Cuthalian says as he swings at the ogre.
1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 161d10 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
| brvheart |
Silvash actually manages to hit one of the big lumbering beasts, but Cuthalian misses. Waiting on Mitleid.
| Mitleid |
Mitleid quickly drraws an arrow than quickly another one and shoots.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 131d8 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 161d8 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
| brvheart |
Mitleid misses twice.
An ogre attacks Cuthalain from the door
great club: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 damage: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (3, 4) + 7 = 14
| Brand Merrywine |
"Let's get into it!"
Brand rushes forward in a serpentine motion, attempting to approach the closest ogre without provoking an attack.
Acrobatics to move through threatened square w/ Derring Do: 1d20 + 1d6 + 1d6 + 1d6 + 10 ⇒ (1) + (6) + (6) + (4) + 10 = 27 - If 27 beats the ogre's CMD then no attack of opportunity. That's a nice exploding d6!
Having closed the distance, he lashes out with his scimitar, attempting to bring down the large brute.
Starting with a straight roll to test out their AC. Later on in I will probably use some of my -hit/+damage options.
Melee Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
Damage on successful hit: 1d4 + 6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 5 = 13
Cuthalian
|
Cuthalian yells, "Death to all Ogres!" invoking his bane ability and swinging at the ogre who just struck him. After swinging he takes a 5' step back to clear the door for others to attack or to draw one of the ogres into the hall where everyone can get at it.
curve blade +8, justice +2 to hit, power atk -2, bane +2, bless +1
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 171d10 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 192d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12
| brvheart |
Brand, I am sorry but you cannot be in the ogres square. You can attack them from the hallway but will miss due to attacking from around a corner as Cuthalian has the doorway. He will hit next round, but Thoron still needs to go.
| Brand Merrywine |
Sorry, it looked like there was a space in the room next to an ogre without being in their square...where their spaces begin and end are kind of hard to understand on the map. We can just roll back my action then. If I can't reach them then I wouldn't have used the panache or tried to attack.
| Brand Merrywine |
Technically happens after my turn. That is okay. I will wait for the opening.
Cuthalian
|
I smacked one and stepped back. That should give some opening if someone wanted to step forward.
