As long as you guys keep posting, I will keep this campaign going. To that effect, 1 post a day from monday to friday would be nice. Weekend is optional but always appreciated.
Don't hesitate if you have questions.

Iona Pentaghast |

This is the name of the character of Timeskeeper. I'm working on the character sheet now.
Also what do you think of Devilbane Priest?
Sword and board cleric of Iomedae!
Also are you okay with prestige classes?

Viktor Rusnak |

My friends! I am ready to go on this journey with you!
I'm very excited to get another crack at this campaign. Say hello to Viktor, the tank-focused paladin of Erastil who is full of cheer and spirit. If anybody playes League, he's very much like Braum. I'll get him leveled down and changed to character creation specs tonight.

Ok for the devilbane priest. For the prestige class, depends which one.

Iona Pentaghast |

Inheritor's Crusader then into Holy Vindicator

Rannik |

@Iona: Ok, for those two prestige class.
@Viktor: Everything look good. However, the following will not be on your person at the start of the game.
backpack
bedroll
cheap holy text
flint and steel
iron pot
mess kit
rope x2
soap
torches (10)
trail rations (5 days)
Also, if you could get your quick info like Bakji, it would be nice.
@Bakji: Inquisitor with the Sanctified Slayer archtype, looks good but then I get to this line : Warpriest (CL 1st, Concentraiton Check +5). Warpriest??

So my concept so far is a Chelaxian woman raised in a Temple of Irori, who travels the world to spread the words of Irori. During those travels she became friends and lovers of a Pistolero from Alkentar. They took up arms and moved towards the Worldwound to join the Crusades. During those days Aleria was an Initiate and nothing more, she was not a fighter but she had some knowledge of healing and of religion and used her words and skills with tending wounds to provide aid for the Crusades.
They lived together on the front for awhile, till her then fiance fell in battle. All that was returned to her was his old weapon, which she carries to this day. She took it upon herself to learn its ways and to seek revenge for the life of the man she lost.
I am looking to Multiclass Aleria as a Monk / Gunslinger, starting off a Gunslinger (Pistolero) and adding in levels of Monk.
I do have a question, would it be possible for me to use the Zen Archer archetype but with my guns instead?

Rannik |

@DarkestHeart: Firearms are not something I saw often in my games so far. After the quick read I just did, I don't understand how the flurry of blows and a pistol would work considering the reload time. So tell you want. Show me the mechanic of how this work with the reference and I'll judge from there.

DarkestHeart |

Also, how do you feel about crafting pre game? Can I have crafted ammunition? It is so damn expensive to buy but if I can craft it it takes off some of the pain?
And in relation to that... - 5d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 4, 6) = 19x10=190gp to start.
Reloading a Pistol is a Standard Action but with Rapid Reload I can bring it down to a move action. I can take Rapid reload when I reach that point in the build. I won't be able to move when I am flurrying.

DarkestHeart |

On closer look, if I want to do the Flurry of Blows I will need to be using Alchemical Cartridges. Alchemical Cartridges bring reloading times down a step. So two handed goes to Standard, One handed goes to Move. With the Rapid Reload feat that would take Two Handed down to a move and One handed down to a Free (Or swift?) either will make Flurry of Blows possible.

Rannik |

Ok for the crafted ammunitions.

But: Flurry of Blows (Ex): Starting at 1st level, a monk can make a flurry of blows as a full-attack action.

Rannik |

Ok, so let's see if I get it right.
Flurry as a full-round attack. Fire the first bullet, then reload as a free action and reload second bullet... until you are out of attacks.
12 gp a shot for paper bullet, 6gp with gunsmithing and 1 rank in craft alchemy. Expensive attack. At level 20 you would get 7 attacks out of it.
Technically this doesn't break any rules. Now we need to look at the zen archer.
Weapon and armor Proficiency
Zen archers are proficient with longbows, shortbows, composite longbows, and composite shortbows in addition to their normal weapon proficiencies.
Change that to firearms. No bows profiencies.
Perfect Strike (Ex)At 1st level, a zen archer gains Perfect Strike as a bonus feat, even if he does not meet the prerequisites. A zen archer can use Perfect Strike with any bow. At 10th level, the monk can roll his attack roll three times and take the highest result. If one of these rolls is a critical threat, the monk must choose one of his other two rolls to use as his confirmation roll.
This ability replaces stunning fist.
I have issue with that one, being that touch attack is already strong. Rerolls just make it even stronger...
Trick Shot (Su)
At 11th level, a zen archer may hit targets that he might otherwise miss. By spending 1 point from his ki pool as a swift action, the zen archer can ignore concealment. By spending 2 points, he can ignore total concealment or cover. By spending 3 points, he can ignore total cover, even firing arrows around corners. The arrow must still be able to reach the target; a target inside a closed building with no open doors or windows cannot be attacked. These effects last for 1 round.
This ability replaces diamond body.
Lol, this one make me think of the movie Wanted

DarkestHeart |

Not really. I wouldn't be taking it till level 3 and I could already have two shots by that time, so Flurry of Blows wouldn't be too crazy. Then I suggested altering Perfect Strike to target against normal AC not touch. I probably wouldn't get up to the bullet curling at level 11. I just really want it for weapon Specialisation and Point blank Mastery, that is it. I am already going to take Monk, it is just the Archetype that is in question.

Viktor Rusnak |

Maybe I'm too used to builds like this.

Perfect strike going against normal AC instead of touch would make the built more acceptable. If you are willing to make minor ajustment if we see that it overpower the rest of the group, I'll accept the concept.
What I don't want is a situation where you kill everything on the first round of combat.
Maybe I'm too used to builds like this.
7 intel? Can he even understand what end of the arrow goes in the bad guys? I understand stat dumping, but not to that extreme of 7 in intel and charisma.

Iona Pentaghast |

Hmm... We have no arcane magic... We'll be find right? XD
I could understand a 7 in Charisma or Wisdom... but not Intelligence.
I should be done with Iona soon, I've just been slow thanks to a cold...

Iona Pentaghast |

Coin: 4d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 6, 4) = 15x10=150
Hey! That's 10 above average!

It's ok, I've been using the time to read more on the adventure path and and the special rules. I'd like to start on monday hopefully. Does everyone think they can be ready by then?

Iona Pentaghast |

Oh very likely yes. I honestly think I'll be done with crunch today, and her back story and such by tomorrow after work.
Edit:
Speaking of which I believe the crunch is done.

Iona Pentaghast |

I'm curious, what is everyone's campaign trait?
I'm taking Touched by Divinity. Since it is the Hierophant path.

Bakji the Vanguard |

Sorry about that mistake on my character sheet. I used your example and adjusted everything from there and kinda missed the concentration check line portion mentioning the class. I have updated was there anything else about my character sheet or background I need to adjust.
I have always felt that the Samsaran was destined to be in this because of the many lives, and it just seemed like a great Roleplay aspect to go Inquisitor of Iomedae who has served as the Lady's blade and keeps coming back to finish the job the Church has hurled itself against time and time again.
I chose Child of the Crusade (Though in his case it's more a destiny that his soul has been tied to then a family heritage.)

Bakji the Vanguard |

I'm looking at being a buffer as far as spellcasting and a possible back up healer.
I still have room for one more Divine spell to add to the Inquisitor list for the alternate trait Mystic Past Life. The ones I chose was Aspect of the Falcon, Badger's Ferocity, Gravity Bow, and Hollow Blades. If anyone can find a good spell that is 6th level or lower that is Divine that isn't on the Inquisitor list I would be more then happy to take it.

Rannik |

Viktor, you have two Faith traits at the moment?
I saw the same thing and was about to ask the same question. You might want to take one of the campaign traits. I don't know what DarkestHeart plan to take but the Exposed to Awfulness and the Stolen Fury would work with your character. If you don't want to use the fluff in the trait, we could always modify it to fit with your background.

Iona Pentaghast |

Anyone one thinking about taking leadership? I won't lie, I've given it some thought.

Iona Pentaghast |

Also is there anyways to gain this? Because I'd love that!

Iona Pentaghast |

Ha! Hey Aleria, I think you and Iona will get along swimmingly! Her beginning is a lot like Iona's.

Iona Pentaghast |

Iona is done!
Edit: Also... I cannot seem to post in game play at the moment...
Edit Again!: Okay It let me post but it also ate my post so... I think that counts as a post delete! XD

Rannik |

The gameplay thread is broken for me too. I've sent an email to paizo already, hopefully it will be fixed before Monday.
@ Iona: Looking over the built. Scale mail is +5 not +6. Two-Weapon fighting with a longsword and heavy shield? That's a -4 on both, giving you a -1/-1 on attacks.
@Aleria: It still says to be continued for your background. Is there more coming?
For the leadership feat it seem to be needed for the mass combat rule. But since that is not until book 2, we will worry about that later. For now let's just get to the end of book one.
Also, I would like to know where you character are living in town. I'm pretty sure your characters would not be walking around town with your backpacks with 5 torches and 19 days of ration while attending a festival. So everything that is not essential to your class abilities, your armor or weapons should be where you sleep.

Iona Pentaghast |

You are correct! I have fixed that. My bad.
Yeah but It gets really awesome later on! And at first level the chance to actually two weapon fight is... low, 9/10 times. I did think about using the light shield but a light steel shield was just so much coin and I didn't know how much I would need for everything else. Though now that I do have everything purchased I could change it by paying the difference... I'm ganna do that.
Iona lives with her guardian Hilduin, so most likely in the temple of Iomedae...

Aleria Ravell |

Yeah I am going to work on that slowly. It is a lot to get down so I am taking my time to do it correctly. It is coming however.
Aleria lived in a small Temple of Irori when she was younger but probably lives in one of the Crusader camps now.
