Tamora
"I wouldn't mind one if winter's coming. Let's skin these first. If any of us want a cloak, we can make them afterwards."
Tamora mutters a prayer to the fallen before skinning their hides. After that, she tracks the worg's paw prints to see if they lead to the cave.
Track: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Kyras Darksoul
Kyras assists with a quick skinning before preparing to head to the cave. We can scrape the hides later. My mutagen is in effect and will not last more than an hour total.
Thinking about it, Kyras is either good taking a lot of time here, so he can use an hour to make another mutagen, or being very quick and coming back later to do the skinning.
Kyzen
Let's move in to the cave...
Tamora
Did we found the cave though?
Kyzen
Yes there is a cave entrance, we just don't know if it's the right one...
Tamora
Well, I rolled a track check for Tamora just in case.
Rannik
Searching the Worg, Tamora finds nothing in there except some undigested meat of some sort. The group then move closer to the opening. Looking in, you see a tunnel that goes about fifty to sicty feet deep before turning to the right. Tamora finds track of the wolves here, but also a weird set of track that look like it would belong to some really oversized insect. Walking a few steps in, Hoga hear a strange skittering sound coming from further in.
Kakrish Stonetoe
Kakrish points to the strange tracks and says in a loud voice. "Ok. Those are unusual. Looks like some sort of bug made them. Maybe one of your relatives, Kyzen?" Kakrish laughs at his own joke.
Kyzen
Kyzen starts laughing too.. Very Funny... And how much higher then me are you exactly "Faty"!
Kyzen then refocus and stands ready for action...
Tamora
"Boys..."
While seems to be the least affected but still mirth dancing on her lips, Tamora shakes her head in an easygoing manner as her murmurs trail off at their immaturity. She juts out one hand over the non-existent space above the track.
"Well, fat does not describe how big this bug it is. It is more of giant of its kind. Perfect for you, Hoga. Let's DO hope that it is not poisonous. If it is, do be more responsible for your safety and health. I do not have the means to remove it with ease like last time and it is well beyond my abilities to remove them with my own hands."
Tamora's eyes become stern as she address the group with the last two sentences before they loosen their harden edge as she diverts her senses and detection magic towards sensing impending hostilities and hazard that may arise in the caverns.
Take 20 on Perception for a check of 31 and detection spells on (detect all four alignments and detect magic).
Hoga the half orc
Having no spells to cast or other preparations, Hoga decides to confront the threat directly. He moves to the outside, giving Kakrish space to join in, and hopefully not have too much of a bottleneck.
No time like the present, he says, axe in hand.
Tamora
"Let us get this over with."
Tamora, follows from behind, bow on hand.
Kyzen
I’m right behind you guys Kyzen is ready for action
Rannik
You turn the corner and discover a large cavern. In the center stands a large... Well, you have no idea what it is, but if you would have to describe it, it would be a large crab-like creature that has a lamprey mouth, twitching eyes on its legs, and several blisters along its back that hold human brains. The thing has signs of damage and rotting flesh, leading you to assume that it was reanimated by necromancy in some sort of undead creature.
This thing is an Neh-Thalggu. In life, it can fly, deliver poison with its bite, and can also uses spell-like abilities. You aren't sure what abilities it would have kept in its undead form.

As he moves he to strike the creature should it come close enough.
Hoga the half orc
Whoa!
Hoga knows it may not work, but he tries to get the monster's attention, anyway.
Come on, you!
He flashes his axe in a quick gesture, swinging it twice, and raising it, inviting the creature to come at him.

If he tries to demoralize on his turn, yeah. But I think we are waiting for GM to act.
Tamora
Yeah, if he is busy or encountered some problem IRL, he should notify us.
Rannik
Sorry about the disappearing act. I had a very rough week. Hopefully, it is all behind me now.
The creature lifts up for the ground and flies at Kyras. Surprisingly, the creature isn't slow like the typical fleshy undead type. It ignores Kyras reach and close in for a bite. The mouth closes on the Half Elf, inflicting massive damage and an impressive amount of blood flows down to the ground.

Everyone's attack score a hit and the creature look even worse than it did before the fight started. While waiting for Kyras to fall back so that she can heal him, Tamora tries to think ay what weakness the undead creature could have. She has extensive knowledge, but can't seem to think of anything else the usual positive energy and some good old hack and slash.

Amped up from his mutagen Kyras looks ready to fight on, but at the good advise from his friends the fire in his eyes ebbs slightly and he withdraws to stand next to Tamora.
Curious - how does it ignore Kyras's reach? I was figuring the reason was it had the same reach as Kyras but looking at the map it is adjacent to him. I expected him to be back 5' farther. Mostly just worried that it will get an AOO when I retreat. But maybe cover from my companions would prevent that.
Kyras Darksoul
Ah, cool. My misunderstanding. And it looks like he never took his ready action for when the creature closed. So 1 readies action and then one AOO
As the creature closes with him Kyras makes a desperate slice at it.

Kyras back from the creature after hitting it once. Tamora summons a convocation of eagles to attack the undead monstrosity. They tear putrid flesh from the bones of the creature with their beaks and claws. Somehow, the creature survives the assault. With Kyras gone, the creature just continues to attack the biggest creature in front of it. This time the target is a big Half-Orc. The victim might have changed but the result is the same. The flesh gets shredded and blood splashes to the ground. Hoga tries to return the favor, but the injured muscles just don't react the same way.

After another round of attacks, the creature collapse to the ground and stop moving, giving you time to observe the alien anatomy. Free to explore the rest of the cavern, you notice a smaller room where you find four iron bound chests. Scanning for magic and others auras, Tamora finds that all four chests produce a magical aura and one of them seem to hold four others magical auras. Nothing else about the room is apparent.
