I'm not sure I completely understand the map. I will take a stab at it and let you correct me where I am wrong.
Sheet 1 is the river which fits into the space on row 12 on Sheet 2 but is lower in elevation than either row 11 or row 13 on Sheet 2.
Sheet 2 seems to be the open area where hopefuls may attempt to run in the open area toward the cliff or, on the other side of the river, attempt to make their way through a forested area with a Survival check, DC 10. Does this mean that there is only one Survival check for the entire forested area? How long is the open area? How long is the forested area?
Sheet 3 appears to be the cliff. Does it require six separate climb checks at DC 10?
Sheet 4 is the archer platform which sits over the cliff on top of sheet 3.
Sheet 5 is the finish area at the top of the cliff. I just don't understand how the river gets you anywhere near the finish area without climbing up a cliff as the river seems to start at a lower altitude than does the open area and the open area requires that characters climb a cliff to reach the finish area.
I know I am not the only person confused by this and your help is most appreciated.
From the map you can see that the river continues around to the right. You cannot see the far side of the cliffs, but would assume there is a 'blind' side that has cliffs you can climb up not in view of the archers. This will obviously require crossing the river again if you run down the left.
The forest is dense, so you can see some of it ahead, but not more than two squares down the river.
Taking the river doesn't get you up the cliffs faster, but it can get you past the archers without running through the forest. It may allow you to get out of the river on the same side as the cliffs. From your vantage point there are no obvious ways to climb out of the river from where you can see.
Is Liam the only one still posting who is ready to move out in round one?
We may have lost some over the holidays. Many of my games have suffered big time attrition.
I had previously advertised my plan to get energized before doing anything. When the post was made about people standing in line and he asked for actions, I figured mine was known and that I shouldn't be posting anything until the clock advanced enough.
I've been a little stymied but I think its just because the nature of PBP draws out my feeling that I don't *know* what to do next...so I'm feeling a little paralyzed with this character. That said, like Adair I had noted the need to heal and eat so I am here and ready.
Were we still going to randomly determine who has the bandana?
As I understand the last description, here at the start, there is a bridge crossing the river, and so far the archers are letting people cross that bridge into the woods without challenge?
The three rangers that went into the woods hid themselves so well, they couldn't be seen.
I meant during crossing the bridge.
This weekend I am helping run the Winter Camporee for the local Boy Scout District. I MIGHT (depending on when I leave work) try to make a post Friday before I head out to the campsite, but I won't be back until Sunday.

The experiment is unsuccessful. It worked fine on tabletop, especially with my three d lego model.
