Following up on Awen's suggestion, Sai glides over to Nivik and takes him by the elbow, steering him toward Awen's location.

"We will be covering for our ghostlike locksmith and providing distractions as necessary for him to work in private. As long as one of us remains on lookout while another steers guests away, this should work. We will alternate where required." Sai explains quietly as they walk back.

As various guests may wander close or turn their gaze more curiously toward the freeing of an azer, Sai will either step up while Nivik stays behind or vice versa if Nivik's skill with language might prove more useful. Sai will use acrobatic spins and twirls among the guests to cause a distraction and navigate the party, pulling their attention in her imitation of dance.

A salamander with particularly large earrings spills a platter of spicy pot-stickers. Basira puts and arm around her leading her to the windows, telling her not to worry "the slaves will get it." He calls to the azures and doesn't notice until his next rounds when the sticky mess is still on the floor that no one responded. He calls again and a slave rushes to clean the fallen food, but has to put down the champagne bottle he had been serving from to do so.

The host glares at his poorly performing staff and his eyes land on the pathfinders. Giving a quick count he realizes one of them is missing too. He then shakes his head and starts to recount the prime materialsists. Fortunately Fendel moves quickly and the efreet doesn't realize he is counting the same green robed figure twice.

Awen is actually missing but with the on in presence. He scores click after click in unlocking the slaves manacles. Each staff member quietly thanks him then disappear into the crowd before discreetly leaving the estate. Adeah you can also try disable device if you want to, there is no real limit to how many attempts at sabotage one can make, only a limit to how many attempts at sabotage that one fails at.

Sometime later the elemental begins laughing horribly. Horribly as in white seeds from the frozen delight end up on one matron's polished cheek and her two daughter's elegantly stacked hair-does. "Face!" he guffaws sending more of the white flecks flying. "'Mud', I just got it."

Fendel has managed to mingle with quite a few of the local dignitaries and has a small collection of business contact growing as the evening progresses. The coutal takes the bait, "Why this punch bowl alone, could instead feed a dozen stray thoquas for a month." ... from your earlier KN (local) success.

As word gets out of the help offered the slaves, they begin whispering repeats of the stories they have heard. Sai, you may retry your rumor spreading again if you would like.

As the events begin to escalate Basira glower turns more often to the newest people to visit the city of Zajarra. Eventually he is going to blow.

if nothing more from Sai or Milton:
Basira flies into a rage and shouts for the guards. "lock this place down! It seems I have an unworthy guest and I mean to teach her or him a much-needed lesson in proper care and etitquette!" Then the efreet roars Identify yourself, coward.

Not tempted to try her hand at spreading rumors once again, Sai merely watches the others success at disruption.

Wondering what happened to Milton, she looks around the party, not immediately seeing the Asmodean. Hearing Basira's call for a lock down, Sai casts her spell of resist energy with a focus on fire. After the efreet roars his challenge she brings her wand of shield to hand with a slight flex of her wrist and quickly activates the magic within it and shifts her weight to a more defensive stance as she steps forward.

"I am no coward, but I am willing to attend your lesson, Basira of the Ill Planned Party. Do your worst, if you haven't already." she taunts, waiting for his fury to get the best of him.

I think THIS is the person you go after. Remember, as we understand the etiquette, it seems to be that if you are attacked (verbally of course) or offended by a guest, then the host needs to come to your aid/assistance. Publicly, this could seem to imply you have a closer relationship with Basira. His defense of you may also have a negative effect on his future business with her. Just make certain she gets louder than you. Really, go treat this her like a fellow Pathfinder and I am certain things will go exactly to plan, lol.

    Very well.

Milton approaches the magma dragon after casting tongues, and with an innocent sounding inquisitive voice he asks in Ignan, "so, now, Hsirmax, a magma dragon huh? Do you prefer speaking in Ignan or are you able to understand Draconic like real dragons? Am I right in assuming that you are some sort of unnatural cross between an earth elemental and a real dragon? Most likely gaining the worst traits of each as often happens in such hybrid matings. Back on the Prime we often have such forced couplings between unlikely pairings of creatures, and their offspring are usually ugly or sterile. Now, you are not particularly ugly, as mutants go, so that would imply you are incapable of procreation. How very unfortunate for you! I'm sure there is some Xorn or Salamander out there that might have loved using you as their little hot blooded sex pixie."

    "Not too much" thinks VT.

Hsirmax seems flustered, then insulted, then amused. Of course she is not sterile. How amusing you mortals think. Of course 'forced couplings' raises her ire, but the thought that any mortal, even one as red-skinned as this half-breed is, could force a dragon to do anything. "Unnatural and disgusting," she exclaims, "Present company excluded," she says, glancing at the food table.

Grog valiantly defends hapless pastries and offensive drinks. Still, his actions do not stop many of the guests from attempting to get to his charges. In fact it becomes a game for them to see who can grab sliced fruit while the owlbear swipes at someone reaching for mini-sausages.

"Too much! shouts Basira again "Slave! Bring me my blade!" and the combat begins.

    Special sabatage circumstances:
Food: Basira has the sickened condition.
Insulting & owlbearing the table: The guests become especially rowdy during the fight, finding amusement in Basira’s fury. Up to three times during the combat as a swift action, the PCs can leverage the crowd’s derision to distract Basira and leave him flat-footed. This is similar to the feint action but does not impart any additional benefits a PC might gain from feinting. If desired, a PC can use the crowd’s Bluff modifier (+12) in place of her own.
Staff: Just as combat is about to begin, Basira calls for a slave to bring him his sword. If the PCs freed enough slaves, nobody answers his call; he does not have a falchion.

    I do not want to mess with that long post, so instead of an edit... confirm with spear: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21. dmg: 2d8 + 8 ⇒ (6, 2) + 8 = 16 plus fire: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Red takes 14 electricity & Basira misses.

Phew, That is what I thought.

There is a special action that can sway the crowd to mock and jeer him. It works like a free action feint, so if you want to make a bluff check you may. I will go ahead and use the same roll to adjudicate it (success!), but it will not make any changes to his roll of a 2 and no one attacked him to take advantage of the distraction. Also this option will only work three times. If you would prefer to make a retcon please do so. :) Also R2.

    EDIT

EDIT you have successfully cost him the respect of his guests & ruined his night and therefore can make the special action listed above. The combat is the only way he can regain their respect. Does that make sense?

Can I be the one to attack him? (assuming a retcon where I shoot him several times with a bow and changing the speech a bit).

Seemingly ignoring the glancing blow from the salamander guard, Sai spins to face Basira as he moves down the stairs to strike at Awen.

"You really should not have attacked my friend Awen." she says with ice cold words.

Following through on her promise to do only non-lethal damage, Sai none the less desires to end the fight with none of her team hurt. She fights defensively, making herself an ever harder target to hit, but something else changes in her movement. Her fists and feet then move in a blur of motion too fast to follow as all of her attacks focus on Basira.
