Hey guys,
I recently lost a player in my Skull and Shackles campaign, and I be wondering if any of you would like to take the guy's spot in the campaign. We're still very, very early on in the campaign (Only day 2), so you won't have missed much at all.
The character we lost is a rogueish type, so something similar would be nice. All relevent details for character creation can be found in the link.
Anyone interested? :D

Just a heads-up to everyone, my first freelance work is available on the paizo store (for free!) Wayfinder #9. I wrote the "secretkeeper" prestige class!
I'll consider the PrC readily available in anything I run, and I'm opening up all Wayfinder content on a case-by-case basis, to support the publication.

At the climax of the ritual, a cleric of Norgorber places the spike on the secretkeeper’s chest and pounds it into his breastbone.
Ow.
I like the PrC! It fits quite well with the theme of Norgerber Cultists. Keepin' the secrets even after they die.. I also really like some of those capstone abilities! Being subconciously ignored while within 5 ft of someone.. I could see some seriously awesome things being used with that.

Now re-read this campaign's prologue chapter called 'Contract'. 8)

I'm fairly interested. My time has been kinda thin the last few weeks, but not thin enough to keep me from posting regularly. The only hurdle is my unfamiliarity with how PbP typically works (I've never done one because the format didn't used to appeal to me).

Kas and I have been working on a homebrew base class and 4 ToB martial disciplines lately. While it's 3.5 (since Pathfinder doesn't have martial adept classes), once it's done, would any of you lot mind giving them a looking-over? (Also it's easy as hell to convert; just swap out the class skills and BAM! Done.)
The class is called the King of Fighters, and is a terrifying, semi-supernatural unarmed fighter. Like the monk, only powered by pure awesome and Charisma instead of introspection and suck. It has access to only one of the four disciplines (player choice), but masters it completely. 3 of the 4 disciplines are alignment-based (a Good discipline, an Evil discipline, and a Neutral discipline), while the fourth is what I can best describe as the lovechild of Gurren Lagann and Nietzsche.

I'll be around for... at least part of the session, probably, I just don't know if it'll be the firs tor second half. I still can't say for sure. I really hope I get to make it tonight, though.
Also, Orkin, I'm almost done with a character for you. This whole baby thing kinda derailed me, sorry about that.

No worries Raven.. the campaign has kinda fallen into inactivity anyways, and I'll admit I've lost some of my interest in it, especially with Lucent's Dwarf Fortress campaign having started up its recruitment. One of our players (Who is also in Lucent's RoW campaign) has been missing, and we had a few others get busy for a while.
Perhaps though, I'll see about getting it rekicked into gear once your char is done. I blame myself for not being more aggressive with DMPCing while others were busy/not posting/missing.

Hey all, I just realized I hadn't made a post following last week's cancellation. I'm in the process of packing for a move to a bigger apartment next week, so everything is kind of a jumble. I'm moving things piecemeal this week and will be doing the majority of the moving next week. So the sessions normally held on the 25th of July (today) and the 1st of August (next week) are going to have to be cancelled. I'll be all set by the following week, however.
Sorry for the short notice for today, I sincerely thought I'd put up a post about it already!

Hey all! So the move last week did not go exactly as planned. The previous tenants who were moving out flooded the upstairs bathroom and caused a few thousand dollars in water damage. The landlord has had to tear out a bunch of drywall and the downstairs and upstairs carpets. All this happened pretty much overnight, so the move had to be postponed about a month ~_~
This doesn't change availability this week, however. Everything is, uh, all set and packed >_>;; So I'll be able to GM on Thursday! There'll just be another interruption the last week of August (PRESUMABLYYYY) when I actually do move.

So after all my planning to run Ascension last night, I once again had work and family both unwittingly conspire to keep me away from the table. I didn't get home until almost 9:00, and that's not the first time it's happened. I'm pretty sure we've missed more sessions than we've played at this point, and given how busy I am these days I don't expect that to change.
When I first started this campaign my schedule was a lot more free than it is now, and I think I've got to admit that I just don't have the time anymore to devote a few hours a week to running an online game. I still love doing this, but it just isn't realistic anymore for me to be able to.
So, unfortunately, that means we're going to have to say goodbye to Ascension. I'd offer to convert it into a play-by-post, because I can reliably keep those running since I can put up a gameplay post at work or while I'm traveling, without issue. But I know when I broached that topic once before it wasn't something people were interested in. If that's changed, let me know!
But it looks like the story of the Expedition has to come to a way-too-early close, and I'm sorry for that. You've all been a hugely fun group, I just wish there were more hours in the day to commit to this :(

:(
This is not the news I wanted to wake up to. Having been in that position, I can totally understand, though. It sucks, but hopefully something can be done more in the future. It's been a fun game Lucent, and this has been a great group, guys. Sorry to see it come to tan end.
As for Play by Post, I'm willing to give it a shot at this point, I just don't know about anyone else.

No worries Rob! I understand more than you know.. I'll miss this campaign, but if you ever get it started up again, let me know!
I'm also fine with a play by post, as you are well aware of.
Also.. funnily enough.. my work in progress Mythic homebrew campaign will start off eerily similar to this one, albiet as an expedition into Osirion's deserts instead of the mountains. I'll be messaging you about this very soon, Rob, as I be needin' info on Ruins of Pathfinder.

Alright, we'll give this a shot. Since I typically have the most posting time for my PbPs while I'm in the office, I don't have access to myth-weavers.
If you could all make a forum alias here (accessed through the My Account link at the top of the page) with a stat block for your character I'd be most appreciated. If you would use this format I'd be thrilled. That way I can check people's stats and stuff from the forums.
I'll work on getting things together for this and the PbP set up this week. I'll likely move this thread to become the discussion thread and create a new gameplay thread (or turn the journal one into the gameplay thread if I can do that.)
I'll give you guys a holler when everything is put together. Thanks for working with me to salvage this story!

Haha awesome, good to see the profiles coming together.
Over the week I'm working on putting some personal projects to rest so I have more time to devote to getting this back off the ground. In the interim, I did have a notion spring to mind about something and I wanted your opinions on it.
Right now I'm running a pair of Pathfinder campaigns set in an "alternate universe" so to speak, where every single officially published adventure path (up to Shattered Star) has been lost, and the villains triumphed.
All of the campaigns are operating in a shared universe where characters can conceivably cross into one another.
I didn't have this idea formed yet when I started Ascension, however, and I've been debating ways to incorporate Ascension into this new world-view so as to make more impact of your accomplishments.
So I've been thinking of the following:
Roll back the official in-game calendar to 4706 (a few years previously from what I had been saying the year is), setting this campaign prior to when the timelines begin to diverge and the world goes to absolute s!!@ with the return of Karzoug the Runelord of Greed.
All it would change is the date stamps from the previous sessions (which is no big deal). But it would make for an interesting twist to Ascension (one that I think improves the story, too) but I wanted to get your thoughts on it before I officially did anything with it.
