I edited that out because I rolled something like a 53 on the Stealth check. So I just had it jump out instead.

Daveak will move up and attack dragon drawing my swords and making an attack.
Die fowl beast. Time to send you back where you belong
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

![]() |

If you can not see the map, it is currently hovering about 10ft away from the boat, but at your level. It hasn't come aboard just yet, (and it's not stupid), except to ninja-vanish one of the sailors, (which is mostly just flavor).

Daveak will take a 5 foot step up drawing crossbow and shoot at the monster.
Die fowl beast. Time to send you back where you belong
attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6

@daveak - hey, it's a dragon - big as a house. i'm betting you didn't actually miss. :)
"I did not kill your little friend. That was him. I'm just a victim in all this. I'm also thin and stringy, and probably quite gamy. So I'm just going to step over here, away from these other folks. Nice dragon."
In a pitched hiss, "No one ever told me dragons have familiars? What's that about?"
Round 1
Status: HP 10/10 | AC 17 | T 13 | FF 14 | CMD 16 | F +2 | R +6 | W +1 | Init +6 | Per +7
Move1: move astern, to the starboard rail, 'neath the ratlines.
Move2: ready a throwing dagger

![]() |

Ah...yes...range...my old nemesis. I have no way to attack the thing.
Grundle shakes his head clear of his fantasy imaginings about killing the snake as Raul does the job admirably. "Heh...I was just thinkin' bout...WHAT IN THE SPIKED HELLS!?!"
Can I get belowdeck to search or see anything on the boat that I could use for range?

![]() |

The dragon seems to ignor your attempts at diplomacy, (it's hungry), and spits a glob of some sort of acidic goo at Grundle, which explodes into a sort of glue around him.
Recharge: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 (FAIL, and so close, too. . .)
Acid Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4
Grundle, and a few feet around him are covered in goo, which seems to stick him to the deck (entangled), and begins to sizzle him.
It then starts to move towards the mage. . . circling around t land on the deck.
Everyone is up again. Merisiel, did you want to use your Readied Action as it vomits goo on Grundle? Jacen still has an action, too.

![]() |

As the beastie shifts its attention toward Jacen, Merisiel takes advantage to hurl her dagger into a vulnerable spot.
Round 1.5
thrown dagger: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23, damage + surprise: 1d4 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 2 + (1) = 4
confirm: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13, crit damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
(...and enough pin pricks let all the red syrup out eventually...)

![]() |

As the drake alights at the bow, Merisiel curses sotto voce, and begins to leg it to the front of the boat. She skirts Grundle and his sticky acid goop, scampering acrobatically on the rail.

ROUND 2
Grundle tries to wiggle free of the acid while, but seem to dig himself even further into its binding chains, (proverbial chain, that is ha ha ha), the Tiefling shoots a bolt that strikes true. Jacen finishes muttering the spidery words of arcane magic and casts a handful of sand into the air around the dragon, but as far as everyone can tell, nothing seems to happen, as Raul advances at his target, seeing little but the holy color of red, Merisiel right there with him, though with a measure more grace. Seeing so many targets, the dragon blitzes forward, (literally, seems way too fast to be natural), and strikes.
Attack @Raul: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19 <HIT>
Dmg: 2d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 4) + 3 = 11
Attack @Jacen: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 <HIT>
Dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Everyone is back up again.

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
1d4 ⇒ 4
[ooc]4 more acid damage, and then everyone scrambling to help you, throw on some water, and whatnot gets you out of there. Good thing you took a level of Barbarian this time. Also, did you forget the extra Speed?[/dice]
Seeing that Grundle is starting to burn to death by the acid, the rest of the team leaps to his aid to help free him, throw on some water and oil, and whatever they can, and finally get the gunk off of him. After that, you spot a sort of burial pit on the island. Heading over to investigate, you dig up a small treasure, which must have been the dragon's den. Each of you walk away with a rather huge pouch filled with gold. A dragon's gold at that.

![]() |

Muttering to herself, "nice dragon. sit. stay." Merisiel lands lightly on the forecastle, draws her rapier, and takes a considered strike at the beastie, in an almost languid motion.
Round 3
Move:draw rapier
free: 5' step (for flank with Raul)
standard: rapier attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 2 = 15, damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + 2 + (1) = 8

![]() |

What, you think Merisiel is going to claim anything but the killing stroke?!? :)
well... bragging rights and GOLD!
"Well, that was entertaining and informative. Has Grundle's face set into something prettier?"
"Let's finalize some merchant disguises, and do up Raul with one of these cleric get-ups we took from the goons on the docks."

After the threat has passed, Passad and the envoys emerge from below deck. Passad speaks up first, saying "The Pathfinder Society continues to amaze me, and it seems to me increasingly prudent to enter into a business arrangement that would certainly be to our mutual benefit—particularly for those with an eye for spotting profit. Let me make my case simply: my trade network is growing and already blankets the Inner Sea like no other, and the dwarves cannot hope to compete with the prices I offer. Let us not forget that the Pathfinders have had many mutually profitable business dealings with me in the past. Here, as a sign of good faith, please accept this gift.", handing you a potion of Cure Moderate Wounds.
You can see that the others also wish to speak to you, but indicate through a gesture that they will once Passad has left.

![]() |

After getting her chance away from Passad, Metella calls you over, “Yes, Temel has his bejeweled fingers in many pies and can offer cheaper wares, but consider the advantages of a business relationship with my mercantile concern: our network is many centuries old, and the quality of our goods is unrivaled. Furthermore, an arrangement with a firm with such deep roots in the Five Kings Mountains would reinforce the military alliance the Society is already negotiating. Thin about it. Oh, and if you need a show of good faith, tae this. . .” reaching for a potion bottle at her belt (Bear's Endurence).
Soon you know you will need to make a decision and pass that on to the Society.
Throughout the rest of the day both seem to pop up here and there, seeming to try to outwit the other's last comment, presenting other potential benefits that allying with them will bring to the Pathfinders, and gain favor, but leave you to rest after dinner. You finally pull up to shore not far from the Grey Revelation Inn. Before leaving the boat, Amauhak strongly advises the party to refrain from violence on Razmiri soil if it can be helped; Metella and Passad, in rare agreement, concur. A stone path leads from the dock about 200 yards
through some light tree cover to the villa. Approaching the inn, a sign above wide wooden gates reads, “Welcome to the Gray Revelation Inn.” The gate leans open invitingly, and the smell of fresh flowers wafts on the cool breeze. Beyond, the profusion of flowers planted around this lovely courtyard fills the air with an enchanting fragrance. An oaken door to the north is the obvious entrance to the inn, while south are the broad doors of a stable. Wooden gates allow egress to west and east, and a roofed well lies at the east end of the main court.
Map is now in use

Ensconced in her merchant's outfit, weighing heavy and hot over her more familiar leathers, Merisiel represses her natural desire to poke into all of the newly presented opportunities. She marks points to ascend onto the wall. She marks out second story windows, and possible springboards, or possible cushions if exiting from the interior. She works desperately to distract herself, and maintain a decorous pace and a half behind Daveak.

![]() |

So far, standing in the courtyard, you see no one else about. It's still early enough that you can hear some festivities going on within (to the left) and on the other side you can hear that the stables seem to be well stocked.

![]() |

Moving things along.
Entering the common room of the inn, you notice a old matronly woman clad in peasant clothing and an apron sits at the centermost table of
this room. Her voluminous white hair is piled atop her head and secured in a conservative bun. She wears a red scarf about her neck and a wry smile on her face. "Good evening travelers. I am Addas Grymble, proprietor of the Grey Rvelation Inn, " holding her hands up in pride to indicate her inn, "We still have plenty of rooms available. Come in, come in, kind sirs, and avail yourselves of our inn's many comforts. We have food and drink, and strong drink. As well as rooms," indicating a sign that reads "Individual Guest Rooms - 5 SP" and below it "Fine Guest Room (3) - 3 GP" and "Lavish Guest Room (2) - 5 GP".
"What brings you to Razmiran?"

"I'm just muscle for hire. The pretty lady there " Grundle jerks his finger back towards Merisiel "paid me. She's a travelin' merchant. So a'course it'll be a Lavish Guest Room for her. The wall outside her door is fine for me."

![]() |

"A traveling merchant, hummm. But what would bring you to our humble door step? Do tell, I find it very intriguing, and business is slow these days."

![]() |

Really? you're going to make dear old abrasive Merisiel carry this off? <gulp> someone better be ready to jump in and help.
Working hard to channel the airs and speech of a bored and overbred matron, "We have several trading interests, and are seeking opportunities to improve your prices and access to goods from nearer the inner sea. My man here," indicating Jacen, "would like to arrange some meetings with local merchants about the details. I find them fatiguing. We are also working closely with the Razmiren priesthood," indicating Raul, "to ensure compliance with, and the blessings of, the authorities."
"If you can aid us in identifying likely trading partners here, I'm sure it will be quite rewarding for you, personally."
