The bowmen could well avoid melee, preferring hit-and-run tactics. If they are literally assassins, they probably would have waited and tried their death attacks, but the party would have moved away to soon and might have detected them.

Don't know for certain how I would have done it differently.

With the ACG playtest, are you open to us trying one of the new hybrid classes? I was thinking that warpriest would be a perfect concept for Edrukk, but I won't reskin him with the playtest class unless you think it's cool.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Edrukk
I have not gotten a chance to look at those newer hybrid classes yet.
--sorry let me check first.

On that note does anyone else want to do a major re-work of his/her character? I am betting on having some major time to do that between Dec. 20 and early January, when we are on a hiatus!

Map/mapless
Ok this is another assumed type of goal, in using the map the assumed goal is to get from where you are now to the top of the map.

I am ready to improvise on anything you see on the map.

Truthfully I was looking at the top left corner as where you needed to get to.

Of course. That's why I asked. I would be returning to 'normal' spellcasting so I could provide some insight for the playtest.

I think I missed something here - it feels like you continued a conversation and I don't remember where it started.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Yes long ago we had a discussion about map versus mapless, for this one what I did was make a map for the surprise round, and then thought we could free-form off of it for the remainder of scene.....

Basically with a start point and end point in mind, you can select which alley(s) to take to get to the top left of the map...

Dwarven Warpriest of Gorum| AC 20, T 11, F 19| HP 78/99| F 8 R 4 W 9, +2 vs poison, spells, spell-like abilities| Init +1| Perc +5| Fervor 6/7| Blessing 7/7| Sacred weapon 7/7| armor 7/7

I had not seen the thread yet, so I was missing that important piece of information. I've posted over there.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

I always appreciate feed-back and how I set up the scene, I think running through each scene twice really helps me to get it all in mind.

Any questions on the map as posted or any areas that seem a mystery?

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

So four possibilities

Any questions?

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Off work for Thanksgiving till Monday.....

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Poor Lem, he never got to play the banjo for you or to admire your pretty mouths......

Female Kobold

I am never. Preparing. This spell. Again.
Also, Erine's been getting pretty battered today, hasn't she? XD

And not how that club could be interpreted as a 'crude banjo', but hey, I'm no musician.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

That is a club the banjo and whiskey jug are both unpictured....

The pig got loose and the drunk huy chased him....

Sorry I have not been in game. I got an assignment over the holiday and now I am up to my armpits in paperwork to get things rolling. This time next year I will have moved from the UK to Canada.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Considering a move myself, and possibly furthering my education, but not too soon....

Interesting situation for ol' Broc.

The kid's just committed manslughter, but the enemy's flaming sphere covered up the evidence.

Good thing he's not a paladin, but I think he will still have a guilty conscience.

Female Kobold

I was gonna have Erine go to heal him, but then I realized that between her spiteful nature and her, "well, meh" approach to anybody not in her group (aside from Canvy), she was more likely to bring in some more eagle spam.

I'm looking forward to seeing how we handle this little problem. ;D

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Well considering the mayhem it is likely only those realizing the guy was wrong place at the wrong time will even second guess it. (Those making the perception check originally)....

Those who did may or may not say anything, ie report to authority.
But the roleplay opportunity is something I look forward to watching!

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Ok according to my read on things Broccan and Edrukk went to attack one sorcerer and Canvy headed for the other sorcerer, and still needs to attack before the round ends.....

And then my Mom passed away last night. Bot Minniwick for a while, life has exploded!

So sorry to hear that, Minniwick - I hope she didn't suffer and I hope you have family to help you through the days to come. God bless.

Sorry to hear that, man. My condolences to you and your family.

Female Kobold

Condolences, Minniwick. :/

Condolences Crispy ... thoughts are with you, Tonya and the rest of the family.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

I know alot is going on with everyone. I am officially going on vacation tomorrow and will be out until early January.

I was not sure if I should update the game thread when I may not be able to continue with updates. This seems a logical pause point although you could do some role-playing the morning of the next day if you guys want to do that.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

I will officially be back to work tomorrow.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

I am officially back.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Is Mr. Minniwick back? I know he posts later due to those crazy time zone things....

I am back and things are still crazy. Life started to calm down but then things ramped up with my Job. Bot me for a few more days and I will hopefully be back in the groove.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Take your time, I think it will be a minute before anything gets too far along.

I will bot you for info on how they can get out of the city....

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

I am actually at a training, and far from my resources, back Friday.

I am 100% out for at least another 7-10 days. You may want to just look for a new player. I am not sure how steady I will be posting for the next few months.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

I will keep bot for MW as long as you need, no worries that time frame and other information is perfectly understandable.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

I am trying to balance the information given by the NPC with roleplaying opportunity in this situation.

Ideally I could post the things they are thinking about doing and the reasons why all in one post, but it feels more natural/organic to me to post those each in response to PC question or questions....

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

So basically I hope that my in game post is clear. The thieves guild wants to scout out some places for intell and report back to you or lead you out of the city.

If something is confusing please post here for clarification.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Is MW back? I was thinking he might have something alchecmically to deal with hellhounds scent ability...

Male Human Cleric/2 Fighter/1 HP: 36/55 AC10/T10/FF10 Conditions:

Very sorry for my absence, but the house has been a freezing and dusty nightmare for the last few weeks. The builders have been very slow in getting things done and the trying to live a normal life under these circumstances has been nigh on impossible. At last the roofing in almost complete, as said most walls are down, but we are waiting for the weather to improve enough to have the rendering at the front done, before we can get the front of the house watertight. It goes rendering, balcony then windows and doors.

At the back of the house we are running the kitchen out of boxes as we wait from the kitchen room to complete its build and the kitchen installed. We have no work surfaces except for the top of the fridge and cooker. Hopefully we will have a kitchen installed by the end of February, the floor is down, just waiting for the water from the mains to be connected to the new pipework, which is being dug out now. 1st fit electrics done, now for plasterboards and plastering to be done, including the ceiling etc.

So life has been a bit rough, (not to mention my wife's car was written off when the wind blew my son's motorbike into it, looking to get another car very quickly).

It meant I stopped posting in all games and haven't been on the Paizo boards at all.

We are coming out the other end.

If you are still wanting me to continue in the game, I can start posting more regularly after the weekend.

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

Sure thing Canvy. We still want you mostly been navigating to an important point, sounds like you will be just in time!

M somewhat akin to a kender Y / MA

So with the baying hounds am I 1) creating dramatic tension or 2) drawing thing out to the point of boring....

One vote per PC (including goat the all powerful)

Female Kobold

I think we're a bit of a sluggish group, sadly, but I find the bits of roleplaying to be enjoyable enough.

However, with that sluggishness in mind, it's probably important to know when to let PCs talk things out and when to move things along.

Liberty's Edge

Male I don't like to run and I'm not overly competitive Procrastinator 10/Daydreamer 15/Trivia Buff 5

I'm okay with the description and tension, especially if it makes the fight (or chase) more dramatic.

I'd rather have lots of description, as opposed just boiling it down to dice rolls.

Dwarven Warpriest of Gorum| AC 20, T 11, F 19| HP 78/99| F 8 R 4 W 9, +2 vs poison, spells, spell-like abilities| Init +1| Perc +5| Fervor 6/7| Blessing 7/7| Sacred weapon 7/7| armor 7/7

The time I have to devote to games has been dramatically reduced, so I'm afraid I am not feeling the dramatic tension.

Ironically, this game lately feels like we are being pushed in a given direction even when you gave us a menu to select from. At this point, I feel like something is finally happening, so I guess I'll vote for #1. I'm not bored, so that's all good, right?

I appreciate your efforts, being DM is tough, and we have varying degrees of availability from the players, so that makes it harder. I think you are doing well with a tough draw.

Dogs were fine .. good with #1, I think your doing a good job with us really.

Female Kobold

Anybody else finding the main thread to be a tad bit broked?

Female Kobold

Bump.
