No Day Job
Initiative +5 (+6 vs Vice Cops)
Perception +20 (+21 vs Traps and Bad Fashion)

Tektite, are you kidding me?!?
We are currently staying in a little fishing village on the Med, an hour or so from Genoa. Our apartment is right above the beach and the countryside is just beautiful! France is clearly visible across the bay.
Sounds like you were mainly in the south, while we're touring the North. We've enjoyed just about everything except the humidity in Rome!
Ciao!

Whatever I bring in probably needs leveled, but at least this will be the only game I'm in so I can focus; I know Ernest needs two from recent Module play and Corb or Kris might need one if I didn't pay attention hard enough. I know Weiman (and probably Turg) won't need leveling, but might be too hefty a level to not push into a higher difficulty.
Any suggestions or requests are applicable and well received.

Fendahl Silvermane
PFS # 9884-3
10 (Lion Shaman/Samurai)
Grand Lodge
trapper + 9
Initiative modifier +4
Perception modifier +16
I just realized Fendahl is 10th. If this is too high for the group, let me know. I do not mind playing down, but this is the only in-tier PC not tied up in GD4.

Yours is mined |

Welcome, Fendahl!
I think you know everyone ... except maybe Aakif, who is a RL gaming mate of Burglar's.
You guys are gonna make me do math and read up the new Guide to Organised Play to determine sub-tier, aren't you? ;)
@Fendahl, assuming there will be combat .... I would prefer to have you and Kirrah together in the same initiative position, the same way Burglar did for Sure and Ilivan, and Desmond and Sahrek.
Any problem with that? If not, should we average the initiative modifiers for Fendahl and Kirrah? How do you pbp GMs handle this?

![]() |

I normally just allow companions to go at the same time as the player.
It's a bit unfair in some cases but as long as nobody abuses it by getting a +20 on the player and no bonus on the companion I don't think it matters in the long run for a pbp game where people tend to post when they have time and most of the time actions are resolved in the order in which they are posted.
You could have everyone go in the order they rolled initiative in and separate player and their companion/familiar/whatever and act on different points in the battle and have players state that they delay etc, etc..but in the end it often ends up too much of a hassle so as long as everyone is having fun...why bother? Just keep it as simple as you can*
*Personal opinion and in no way backed-up by any rules, FAQ's or logic

![]() |

If we end up lower tier, Fendahl can leave Kirrah at home to even things up and prevent init issues.

![]() |

One of these days I am going to write a 6 degrees of Varg (like kevin bacon) program/script. I think I have 4 characters that have run on tables with him now.

![]() |

The pet inits, as I ran them, was as follows:
Roll both of them
If pet wins
-Pet waits for orders, delays & is not flat footed it doesn't do anything that's require tricks (attacking, moving for flanking, etc.) but avoids the obvious dangers (like lava and stuff or things that would instagib it)
If pc wins and is in same initiative block
-Lump them together because wh not; pbp is more fluid on that and needs momentum to keep trucking
If PC wins and there's an enemy between them
-If player says they want to wait for their comp, reverse the first dash process (best for mounts)
-Otherwise, eventually inits will wrap around and fix itself; having two separate actions isn't too bad
---
Looks like I have Weiman 10th (no updating), Corb (should be 9th), or Ernest (needs two levels to 9th)

![]() |

Hi, to inform you; I will be playing PFS all weekend at a local con during which time I may or may not have access to working internet and time to post here, so it is possible that I won't post till Monday

![]() |

Hi guys,
I am just about ready to go home.
I am looking to start the game fur realz on about Tuesday in the US.
Tektite and Burglar, I believe you still have to decide which PC you're bringing.
Ciao until then ...

![]() |

Then lets go with the "No Work" option, since I've yet to sit at a nonwork computer.
Weiman
22357-12
10
Taldor
Craft food (shop): 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 2 = 21
+3
+32 (Trapspotter)

![]() |

This trait is one Weiman has and is surprisingly PFS-legal, since it requires a minor amount of DM prep.
Also, as for the notches, I believe Lu might have the wrong idea.

![]() |

Wow! Awesome trait, Weiman. I can work with that.
And yeah, even though I didn't know about Chaldira, I thought the notches might have referred to 'times Weiman had seen a dragon OR saved his entire party through wit or luck' or something.
Unfortunately, Luisila is always going to think along different lines.

![]() |

Favourite accomplishment: Weiman has killed two constructs with DR 5 & 10 using his small-sized, unspecial unarmed strikes (which he learned from a BadgerMan who is no longer PFS-legal because Synthesist.)

![]() |

If we go high tier with the two recent additions, Kirrah will join after the briefing.

Let's talk subtier.
Varg 7, Aakif 8, Brachus 9, Cara 9, Fendahl 10, Weiman 10
APL: 7 + 8 + 9 + 9 + 10 + 10 = 53 / 6 = 8.833
Starting with Season 4, scenarios are designed for six characters and contain instructions on how to adjust the scenario for four-character parties.
When the APL of a table is between two subtiers (like APL 3 for a Tier 1–5 scenario), a party of four characters must play the lower tier without any adjustments for party size. A party of five to seven characters whose APL is between two subtiers must play the higher tier with the four-character adjustment.
The nearest whole number to 8.833 is 9. That means 10-11 subtier with 4 person adjustment.
This scenario looks quite interesting on paper. Combats appear quite challenging.
We are all experienced PFS players and/or GMs. I promise I will NOT add to or reduce the challenge of encounters as written. I will also adhere to the tactics provided. In the absence of those I will not softball encounters.
I welcome feedback from you guys. If it appears I have made an error please let me know.
If you have any questions before we proceed, please let me know either here or via PM.

Fendahl will cast extended greater magic fang and extended longstrider on Kirrah every morning (18hr duration each) as part of ritual.

Is cross-class aiding an option or no? Berry important for Helpful Halflings to know.

Not sure what skill Varg is using, but likely not one Fendahl used already, so consider untrained assist
I think Varg is using the BAB + Int/Wis option, Fendahl.
If you wanted to do the same, I will accept the 12 = 12 you rolled on the d20, which would make your score d20 + Fendahl's BAB + Wis: 12 + 7 + 4 = 23
Would you like to do that?
____________
@Caradeum, I found your PFS #. - 8, right? Does Cara have a Day Job?

Yours is mined |

@ Aakif, we could do what you’re suggesting.
However, the current setup IS actually more advantageous to the party.
Let’s keep rolling the way it is this time.
☝☝☝☝
@ Varg, I read somewhere that Henry Winkler has about 20 people EVERY DAY go “Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa! The Fonz!” and give him a thumbs up.
That averages about once every hour!

** Notes for the PCs about the actions of Dhiara & Goose Company **
The PCs' allies in this combat are somewhat abstracted, ie they’re present but do not have miniature(s) to avoid cluttering the map.
They have AC, troop hit points and a number of ways to help the party.
I will manage their actions.
Any questions, please let me know.

![]() |

Just one question, troop? hp, are those like normal hp..which means they can be healed? Just wondering if it ever comes up that I feel I should channel to keep some of them alive or are they a lost cause if they take damage?
And can they benefit from spells? Bless for example? (..so that's really 2 questions...)

Yours is mined |

Good question. Yes, the troops can benefit from spells and channelling.
“Troop” hp is something to distinguish the Averakans from “PC/NPC/monster” hp AND Ultimate Campaign’s Mass Combat “army” hp. These three values are all called hp but are calculated differently.
It is difficult to set specific rules that cover everything before the battle, but I will adjudicate the magical effects on the troop as they occur.
Here’s two examples from the scenario’s text:
A well-placed wall of stone might give the Averakans a chance to take total cover, not attacking but also being immune to the giants’ damage.
A PC who succeeds at a DC 20 Profession (soldier) check could give the Averakans defensive advice that increases their AC for the round.
As always, roleplay and creative solutions are encouraged!

Troop rules originated in Book 5 of Reign of Winter; the easy way to describe them is "They're Swarms of people" and can make shapes instead of being squares all the time (a benefit of being medium and not mindless.)
(Assuming they're the same rules.)

Lucky Halfling Feat, APG
Source: Advanced Player's GuideYou bring luck to those with whom you travel.
Prerequisites
Halfling.
Benefits
Once per day, when one of your allies within 30 feet makes a saving throw, you may roll the same saving throw as if you were the one subject to the effect requiring it. You may use this ability after your ally has rolled, but before the GM declares if the roll was a success or failure. Your ally may choose to use your saving throw in place of his own.
Yeah, technically, I have to roll it, but online makes the power pretty tough if I can't get to a machine on a regular basis (or without retcons, but I like to avoid that for continuity). Much easier at a table, where "roll me my save" only takes more than a minute if there's medical conditions at play. Though, technically, you are correct.
(Additionally, I did forget about Saving Finale, it that's just rerolls for me while Arch's Luck is up, so y'all don't have to worry about those.)

Well, with the weekend over (boo!) I’m looking to get things rolling again :)
With Cara travelling, I will give him another 24 hours to post, before walker-ing him and moving us on.
Speaking of walkers …
By sheer chance, I watched an episode of a show on Cable TV a friend thought I might like called The Walking Dead, and was blown away (and not by a shotgun!)
I have since found out there are 5 Seasons of this show I haven’t seen. If you’ve watched it, does it stay consistently good throughout its run? Which is the best Season?
