Tecolote
|
Trying to contribute something more to the fight, Tecolote slings another stone at the now heavily damaged insect.
Attack (sling): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Damage: 1d4 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1 1 hp non lethal if it hits...which it won't
Fortunately, I think Sial and Orza just finished things.

Doh' I am blind Sial. Thanks! :)
The groups combined efforts drop the remaining Fungal Crawler large cricket as it slumps into the vines. It's body being entangled further.
Combat over
Here is a recap of the room
Inside stands a twenty-foot-tall statue of a man carrying a tome stands in a round niche at one end of this impressive chamber. The chest and head of the large statue have been badly damaged, and look like they melted and ran before congealing again, giving the statue a crude, blob-shaped face with eyes of red stone. A doorway leads to the southwest, and another to the southeast.

"Thos eyes might be what we're looking for," Aparctias says.
Are we resting to heal Tecolote's stat loss? I'll save the charges on my wand if so, but use it if we're continuing to explore.
Tecolote
|
I think we'd better rest again. 5 hp for a melee combatant is flirting with death and any more significant Con damage would kill me outright. Willing to take 20 for 29 on the search before we rest of you all prefer. Otherwise, take the 20 after rest.
An exhausted Tecolote pants, "That was good teamwork everyone. We worked together and took them down. But I fear I am spent again. I could carefully search their lair, but after that I would prefer to rest until well if you are all willing to delay your exploration."

I can aid with survival.... what say gm?
aid another survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

Sounds fine with me.
The party spend the next week outside of the accursed halls as they forage for berries and fruit. One of the days Bolger is able to find a pair of small rabbits that they cook over a small fire dug into the ground. Once they feel completely rested they decide to finally return and finish their objective.
Everything is cleared.

Sial makes his way back to where they were so they can check out the statue...

Tecolote finds a small hidden compartment about midway up the statue. He weaves a simple incantation and the edges of the compartment give a soft glow about them as something inside is magical.
GM Tyranius
|
Tecolote looks around for traps but is unable to find any. He grabs the edge of the compartment and lurches it open. Inside the compartment Tecolote finds a small short sword made of cold iron. The short sword has small runes etched along the hilt. Inside is also a small silk pouch containing three fiery red rubies. The red stones look as if they will fit inside the socket of the door.

Tecolote grabbed the eyes as well if he could, did he succeed and what are they please?
GM Tyranius
|
The eyes are the same red rubies
Tecolote
|
After collecting everything (including the eyes), Tecolote shows everyone his finds and casts detect magic on the sword. "Cold iron. This might have been valuable in one of our previous fights. Do any of you want to wield it moving forward or shall I?"
GM Tyranius
|
Tecolote detects that the small short sword is in fact magical.

I'm having connection troubles so please move forward without me if I delay. The soonest I can have it fixed is probably Monday.
"It's probably best if you wield it, Tecolote, unless Bolger can use it to more effect."
Aparctias follows Sial at a distance, waiting for them to give a sign.

Tecolote studies the small short sword and recognizes it as the sword of Zog a +1 small cold iron short sword.
Sial round the corner and looks into a large L-shaped chamber that is filled with knee deep, pale purple mist. Beneath the mist is a floor of small, glassy black blocks, noticeably different from the flagstone elsewhere in the dungeon. Stone archways exit to the north and the west.
Within the center of the room Sial is able to see a pale purple garnet lying on the floor. It looks about the right sie to fit into one of the sockets within the door.
Bolger Greenbottle

If the sword is small, I think it's a good idea that Bolger uses it
Bolger takes a closer look at the sword, takes it and swings it through the air. "That's a good sword. Can I use it, please?" he asks.
Once the decision is made he follows.

Sial walks into the mist as an apparition appears. With a wave of Shadow Sial all of a sudden sees an older version of himself completed corrupted by Society. Orza no longer stands by his side as Sial takes advantage of the weak and poor.
A quick flash shows Sial taking money and food from a family as another flash show Sial slaughtering a little girl's family for profit. Sial begins to feel an incredible chill take over his body.
Will DC 11 to disbelieve. If failed then need to do the saves below.
Cold damage: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5

The apparition disappears as Sial is left physically shaken in the mist.
You are shaken for 1 hour. If you pass the above DC 11 FOrt save it also negates the shaken effect.

Sial bends down and grabs the violet garnet. As he downs the dark shadowy mists suddenly become pure white.

I'm back! And I realized give my spells prepared, but they're Entangle and Obscuring Mist with two slots kept open.
"Unfortunately, I don't think I can do anything to dissipate this mist. The best I can make right now is a light breeze. It seems to have turned white so I think it's safe to cross now?"
Aparctias enters the mist to Sial's position, keeping his fan ready.

Sial walks out the other side of the mist..
Come Orza lets get out of this mist

Does Bolgers sword glow? Have runes on it? Is he wearing a green cloak? maybe a chainshirt?

The party continues on through a long winding tunnel as they soon reach a chamber with thick square columns that support a low ceiling of the natural cavern. The walls remain uneven hewn stone and the floor is only partially paved. Rough tunnels and unfinished walls extend for some distance. Tattered furs, foul looking bedrolls, sacks of food and battered old crates and casks are scattered around in an improvised campsite.
You go in misty room. I keep getting visions of dogs and horses! No more. I tired of trying.
