Marina, Servant of Wadjet |
"No wonder that was easy. Look maybe we're going about this *too* carefully. If this is the cult, spreading this drug that I think is helping thin the line between nightmares and reality, maybe for once in my life...I hate to say it...we should just bust in there and put a stop to it and then sort them out. "
Cyrene Two-spell |
Cyrene is watching the man in amazement. "Yeah, maybe we are overthinking this..." She agrees, seemingly utterly confused by his questions.
General Dissa Ray. |
"So, how was the scouting plan?" Dissa looks at Marina and the bedraggled guard.
Dissa pulls his scrolls of Keen Edge, Barkskin, and Heroism and passes them to Cyrene and Dulomak for some help.
"Time for a direct approach?" Dissa casts Bless Weapon, Honeyed Tongue, Fallback Strategy, and Protection from Evil from his wands.
Cyrene Two-spell |
"He's higher than a kite being held by a giant." Cyrene responds with a smile for Dissa. "We won't get much of use from him."
Marina, Servant of Wadjet |
"Better to take every advantage possible, so if we can I'd still like to pick the lock and rush the door without them realizing we're coming. But yes, hard entry however we can get in. Let me take one more look."
Marina attempts to swim around the building to look for other entrances or escape boats and the like.
General Dissa Ray. |
"He's higher than a kite being held by a giant." Cyrene responds with a smile for Dissa. "We won't get much of use from him."
"Speaking of giants, do you mind casting Enlarge Person on me? I have two pearls of power to help restore your spell slots." Dissa asks Cyrene, slipping his whistle back over her adorable locks.
Cyrene Two-spell |
"Sure thing!" Cyrene replies with a smile, taking Dissa's hand for a moment until he grows too large for her to hold on to any more.
Enlarge Person for Dissa :)
General Dissa Ray. |
As Dissa grows, he begins crouching and then kneeling to keep his fingers in contact with the sorceress just a few moments longer.
"Is it time to, how did you put it Marina, 'Bust in there and put a stop to it'? I am fully charged up for the business of busting."
Dissa winks at Kontha and asks "Are you ready to lead your Half-Orc into the fray? I think it's go time!"
Cyrene Two-spell |
Next time the 3 foot halfling is riding the 12ft tall human into battle!
With the call to arms sounded Cyrene draws a clockface in glowing silver lines and twists it, accelerating time for her and her allies.
Haste!

Did I get haste off already? If so hold action until I can see the cultists then glitterdust them!
Marina, Servant of Wadjet |
Sorry i've lost the link to the maps if we have one and I can't seem to find it - direct me please? and thank you. Probably gonna start tying up cultists for rehabilitation services. The ones the dinosaur doesn't eat, anyway... :(
Marina, Servant of Wadjet |
The link works fine but I must being having my eyes glaze over it or something, because I know it's usually at the top of the page but i don't see it - maybe its chrome or the site acting weird? anyway, problem solved!
Marina will do the honors of opening the door and hasting in settling into a fighting stance at the far corner.
"Please don't fight - we really do just want to have a talk and stop the dream spiders from eating you, but if you're determined to fight over these drugs you could get seriously wounded or even killed."
Cyrene Two-spell |
Cyrene peeks through the door and attempts to blind two of the cultists.
[ooc]Will saves for Blue and Red, DC18[/dice]
General Dissa Ray. |
"You have about 5 minutes to take us to Greely, or things are gonna get small. I recommend you help us, or the whole town will continue to suffer." Dissa speaks clearly and softly, but in a deeply resonating enlarged voice.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
GM Fez |
Will (Blue)!: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Will (Red)!: 1d20 ⇒ 8
The olive cloaked men begin freaking out when their door is opened and Marina slips inside. The two blasted by Cyrene's spell rub furiously at their eyes, blindly knocking into the nearby walls and unable to do much. The last one, nearby Marina draws a sword and screams while attacking her, "NO! The frog man will come again! It'll eat our souls!"
Half-hearted slash...: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Will (Blue): 1d20 ⇒ 3
Will (Red): 1d20 ⇒ 20
One man finally gets the glitter out of his eyes, but too late to do very much.

General Dissa Ray. |
"Fight with us, and the Frog Man will bother you no longer. We can outflank it easily if we work together." Dissa implores the wretches.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
Dissa takes a standard action to grant the party Outflank.
If the drug addicts join us, they will benefit from both Outflank and Paired Opportunists as allies of Dissa.
Cyrene Two-spell |
With the addicts seemingly dealt with, more or less, Cyrene simply waits for Dissa to decide what to do next.
Hold.
Marina, Servant of Wadjet |
"Come at me with a sword while I'm trying to save you, time out and rethink your life."
In a brief flurry, Marina attempts to trip and disarm him.
trip: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
disarm: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11 provokes but he's hopefully prone.
disarm: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 using haste since there was a nat one will try disarm again. AC 23 with haste.
GM Fez |
Will!: 1d20 ⇒ 6
Marina easily disarms the man and drops him to the floor. He stands while his companions scramble to and fro. Before you know what is happening an enormous water elemental in the form of a horse appears on the dock between some of the party and the door to the shack!
"The frog's minion! We're doomed!" crows one of the addicts. As he finishes speaking the sea water under the pier starts rising rapidly, sloshing over the edge of the quay and making it difficult to maintain your feet. The water rises 8 feet from the bottom of the pier. The boat next to the shack and the roof of the shack are the only two places that are able to be stood on for everyone except Dissa. Dissa is in extremely difficult terrain, everyone else needs DC 15 swim checks to maintain your height above the water. Inside the shack there is about 2 feet of free space under the ceiling.
The water elemental attempts to slam into Dissa, too large to be caught up in a vortex.
Slam!: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 12 + 1 = 19
Slam!: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 12 + 1 = 32
Damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
When your turn comes around make a DC 15 Swim check or be brought under by the rough waves, only happening in the black square on the map.

Swim: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8
Cyrene was never much good at swimming so she sucks in a breath as best she can and tries to think light thoughts.
Help?
General Dissa Ray. |
Any chance Dissa gets an AoO for the approaching Water elemental?
Possible AoO: 1d20 + 11 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 11 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 29 Trait, Haste, Heroism, Feat
Possible AoO Damage: 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (3, 2) + 16 = 21
Dissa smiles as the water begins to rise. He seems to delight in the complexity of the challenge, and mutters more to himself than anyone in particular. "Fun. I like how this is going!" After his statement, he takes a deep breath and sets his mind to defeating his opponent.
A bizarre grin remains cemented on his face as the water level reaches knees, waist, shoulders, chin, and eventually past his face. Unflinching, the warrior strikes at the center of his opponent, hoping to protect his party through swift defeat of the enemy.
Swim DC 15: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 1 + 2 = 22
Dissa is not going to swim. He is going to maintain his footing on the dock, and hold his breath. 5' step back, and full attack on the Water Elemental.
Primary Attack: 1d20 + 11 + 1 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 11 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 20 Haste, Heroism, Flank
Primary Damage: 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (1, 7) + 16 = 24
Iterative Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 20 Haste, Heroism, Flank
Iterative Damage: 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (5, 3) + 16 = 24
Haste Attack: 1d20 + 11 + 1 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 11 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 20 Haste, Heroism, Flank
Haste Damage: 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (1, 8) + 16 = 25
Edit: Reformatted some of the text to clarify the actions.

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 8 - 1 = 21 regular attack with power attack
1d10 + 2 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 6 = 12
Hasted
1d20 + 8 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 8 - 1 = 9 regular attack with power attack
1d10 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 2 = 13
General Dissa Ray. |
Dulomak and Kontha should both get +4 to all attacks from Outflank, and +1 to all attacks from Haste. Don't forget :-)
GM Fez |
Swim Dulomak: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Swim Kontha: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Dulomak struggles to move anywhere and only just manages to keep his head above water. Kontha on the other hand takes to the water like a duck, using her strong legs to kick over to the water elemental where she takes a bite of it.
