We know little about them except that they were a small band that set out. Their composition is unknown, but we have a strong belief that there maybe a magical type among them, divine or arcane, we're unsure of. Unfortunately we don't have any more assets in the area to handle something like this"

And I guess since you'll be protecting big brother with me, I guess you I can enchant your main weapon. Is your knife your main weapon?

"So we are playing catchup to the cultists. Great.

"Yes, they were seen leaving two days ago, hence the ten's decision to call upon you. Perhaps they will arrive ahead of you. Perhaps they have been mired with obstacles." her fingers traipse on some soft silks near her"“Who knows, but one hopes?"

You can tell that she's already running a list of cloths that'd look good on you, and merchants to refer you to for tailoring. You're not 100% sure, but she may even like what she sees

And Ursus responds the same way he does with all beautiful women...

"All that sounds grand", the hulking ulfen says in response to the attention. "Let's meet tonight and you can try all of it on me."

Daxter cannot roll his eyes any harder as Ursus starts shamelessly flirting with the contact. "What did I tell you? She's just trying to sell you something and it's not what you think."

Ursus marveled at the enchantment imbued into his limbs.

"I've never seen that one before either. Thanks Beautiful."

"100 miles is quite a trip. Dax, you have a spell that can magic us there faster?"

Even if my brother did, he's never seen the shrine before, and one cast of teleport can only take 3 people besides himself. I think we're walking.

"It's probably for the best. Travelportation spells make my feet itch."

"Exactly. I wouldn't know where I was going and I cannot take all of us. We would also have to wait another day as I don't usually memorize that kind of thing. We will have to walk and hope they were waylaid somehow. And Teleportation magic doesn't do that. Your feet itch due to fungi because you don't bathe properly."

Best way I can think of getting us there fast is buying a scroll of shadow walk, but that's pretty expensive.

"Shadow Walk? What's that do? Sounds like some jadwiga business..."

"You think it's best we leave right away Dax?"

She smiles directly at Ursus "Perhaps if you were wearing an outfit made with my wares, we could have dinner at some point... however tonight I fully expect you to be out of the city and on the road, while there's certainly a chance they will beat you lot there, there's no need to tempt the fates by spending a night trying to woo me or anyone else!"

"I don't think I'm going to be trying to woo anyone", Ursus counters. "And after tonight you're not going to want to be traveling much..."

The big ulfen sidles a little closer, sneaks in a quick flex, and then grins.

I actually like the Shadow Walk idea. How much would that be split 5 ways?

"You say that about everything. Yes we should leave as soon as possible. And like I told you, as a fellow merchant I know when someone is trying to sell something to some unsuspecting halfwit."

Shadow walk scroll is 1650 gold. Split 5 ways is 330 gold per person.

Ursus is entirely too busy striking a series of poses for Allira to notice Daxter's most recent barb.

That's totally reasonable. I'm good with that.

Do we have one of these refugee tokens on hand to study? It may come in handy if we could use a casting of locate object if we needed to find the cache.

We could make do with a picture of them too. Hmmm... I got these set of books from the Pathfinder Lodge in Magnimar. Big brother, maybe you can find a picture of them in here?

Gina pulls out some tomes taken from the Lissalan Library from Scenario #4-08 Cultist's Kiss.

I can chip in for the scroll. Getting ahead of the cultists is a good idea if we can manage it.

Amid the Feasters of the Heart's prized possessions is a collection of ancient volumes on their faith. When consulting these books, you gain a +2 circumstance bonus on Knowledge (religion) checks regarding Lisala and her ancient cult.

She looks to Gina "I wish we did! The research indicates
that several dozen are stored in the shrine. We don’t know
how many are hidden elsewhere, but these should all operate much like normal refuge tokens, in when you activate them you are whisked away to a pre-designated place. A teleport spell without error! I'm sure you can appreciate why they are called refuge tokens! Of course this brings up the issue of why you should not break them and should make every endeavor to learn how they are activated!"

Daxter starts flipping through one of the books. "You got this from Magnimar? I assumed like its owner, it was no use to me."

My goodness what time zone are you all in hehe, it's 3AM here and by chance I woke up :P. As an aside the Pregen only has 14 gold.

Merisiel steps up, likely unnoticed that she was there to begin with. "Well it sounds likely we've gotten all the information we can, I say we expedite our journey if we are to catch up to these cultists."

Yeah. Apparently some pathfinders led by a child genius smashed the cult in Palin's Cove, and these books were one of their spoils. I think her name was Sakura Knowledge? Anyway, they made a few copies of these books and distributed them out.
This character was assigned GM credit for the boon, which is why the story is so roundabout. Sakura was my character that actually played the mod.

I think we're all PST. Don't go back to bed. We're making progress!

"Dak's right. The sooner we deal with these fool Lissalans the sooner Allira here and I can get back to business."

It's not even 1 am here, sleep is for wimps anyhow. I think we can cover your share.

"Indeed. I think I've met this Sakura, but I can't for the life of me remember where."

Ursus digs into a pouch at his hip and comes up with a fistful of coins which he drops into a separate pouch and offers to Daxter.

"Dax, why don't you go get that scroll your sister was talking about while I finish getting information from Allira?"

The big northman quickly returns his attention to the beautiful merchant-woman.

"Getting the scroll will take longer than a minute. What will do you with the rest of the time?"

Let's just assume within the letter was a scroll of a high level phantasmal steed spell for the group to use

Ursus waves a huge hand dismissively and leans in to whisper into Allira's ear.

Excellent, that means we leave when Ursus is ready...

*Whisper* *Whisper*

Ursus grins wide.

Daxter shakes his head as he heads off to buy some last minute supplies.

375 for a scroll of Magic Circle versus Evil, 375 for a scroll of wind wall, and a scroll of Command Undead for 150. So 900 gold spent.

Gina goes off with her brother.

2PA for a scroll of Dimensional Anchor, 300 gold for a scroll with two "Suppress Charms & Compulsions"

Allira looks uncomfortable I was told you taldorans had more tact than that! You'd serve the tribunal better if you quit bothering me and handled your assignments. she no longer has any feigned interest, and is looking rather put off... you hear her mutter something about uncouth adventurers

Merisiel stays behind with Ursus just to ensure nothing happens while the others buy supplies.

"Taldorans maybe but I'm ulfen, born proud and strong", Ursus says with a laugh.

"You'll change your mind. They all do! You can make it up to me when I get back."

Haha, Ursus is good to leave whenever the women are done shopping.

Daxter is ready to move on. It doesn't take that long get the few scrolls he needs.

Ursus departs when the others return from their shopping, leaving Allira to her own devices for now.

"Hey Dax, this looks like a scroll. Do you think it'll help us catch up with the cultists?"

As the big ulfen leaves he flexes for Allira one last time and flashes her a grin.

"Where did you get that? Yes, this will help immensely. How.. Nevermind I do not want to know. Just give that to me." Daxter grabs the scroll and when everyone is ready to leave, will use it.

I assume it's the Communal version of Phantom Steed.

Gina returns with some sweet bread that she happily munches on, along with some scrolls. She hands one to Daxter (Scroll with 1 suppress charms & compulsions on it) and then offers some bread to Daxter.

SWALLOW.

"Big Brother! I found a stand down the street with some really sweet bread! Want some? Anyone else?

Gina is ready to go

"Uh, sure. You are too happy about all this. Are you sure you're not part halfling?" Daxter will take said scroll and pocket it.

she clearly was just doing some professional flattery to get a sale while giving you information, it just backfired on her and she's a bit disturbed now and she's not even trying to hide it
