Fung Xi
|
Fung Xi twists and dodges the incoming attacks from his dominated friend... Is she enjoying this??? No, it is the she-demon's magic! I must remember that above all, she is my friend. "Damn it all, Al! Where are you going?!? It is another trick from that witch!"
Rolling back and forth at his waist, Fung Xi returns his focus to the deadly blade wielded by a deadlier duelist!
Dora D Asplora
|
Dora thought about prov v evil or fascinate/suggestion, but getting Kale to beat that DC is tough.
Kale Aldori
|
Ya, shes got almost no will save. Shes a duelist and tries to fight with honor... unfortunately she kinda expects that too. Glitter dust might slow me down though if you have another cast.
Dora D Asplora
|
Yes, glitterdust was another option that has a chance if Dora gets an opportunity to cast it. She seems to be the only one able to hurt the demonlady at this point. The griffon is all but useless and others cannot even reach her. High AC and DR are killers.
Fung Xi
|
Fung has made it pretty clear that he feels that you should focus on dropping demon lady... He'll have a 31 AC for the next two rounds... Hopefully he won't be hit again! ^_^
| Tarondor |
PvP is outlawed, but this isn't PvP, precisely. I did a lot of reading up on this scenario, and this is pretty much exactly how most of them go. When she gets someone with dominate person, it's tough going. When she fails, she's somewhat easier to kill.
Samavashti ignores the griffon, not bothering with it as it flies past.
Both of Dora's arrows strike the heartbreakingly beautiful woman, causing her face to twist into a savage snarl. Boots fails to harm Kale.
Samavashti gracefully avoids Ayaki's arrows, as if she already knew where they would fly.

Alphonse, Fung Xi, Oscar, go!
Fung Xi
|
"C'mon, Kale! Aren't you going to lead me to Pharasma's embrace!" Fung taunts the deadly swordswoman, Oh gods, she is going to kill me!
Fung spends another ki point for AC and goes full defensive again! 1/6 ki point left. AC => 31.
| Inquisitor Oscar |
Oscar orders Diane to fetch Kale's main sword as he casts Shield of Faith on himself and his blades continue to attack the woman.
Rd 4 and Rd 2 on blades.
Spiritual Weapon: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 121d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Spiritual Weapon: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 281d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Fung Xi
|
I am curious, the evil lady does not get any DR against Oscar's spiritual weapon, does she? I only ask because the spell states that the spell does force damage... This is a ruling that I am not clear on... and maybe it will help us survive this encounter. :)
Dora D Asplora
|
I was wondering the same on the force weapons. Also, does Alphonse get another save or does he just keep hustling off to save the guests? If the latter, he will probably be out of combat range after this round unless we have a way to stop him. I am not sure how far away he is or if we can see him?.
| Tarondor |
Correct, DR does not apply to spells, so she gets no DR against the spiritual weapons. Also, No, Alphonse doesn't get another save. He's off like a shot unless he somehow fulfills the suggestion or you break him out of it.
Oscar, I don't know what you're ordering Diane to do. A disarm maneuver? Enlighten me and roll some dice, please.
| Inquisitor Oscar |
I realized after I left I forgot to do the roll for Diane. Yep, the goal is Disarm, but Diane does not have the feat to stop AoE's. Diane moves W, W, W to stand nest to Kale. +1 for Bless added in.
Disarm: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Dora D Asplora

The dinosaur would still benefit from the bardsong +2/+2, which should apply to CMB as well if I am not mistaken. However, I do not think we are getting that sword out of her hands with the gauntlet if it is locked.
| Inquisitor Oscar |
I forgot that out of character but that is something I would have in theory known in character. I would have had the dinosaur go for the one that was not locked. Up to the GM though I guess if I could have had Diane go for the unlocked hand and if the Bard Song lets me get that off.
| Inquisitor Oscar |
I thought she was using two one handed swords to fight with. Apparently, I was not paying enough attention to that so Diane fails by 10 with the bard song. I will need to try something else then next round
| Tarondor |
I'm glad you folks figured all this out for me!
One of Oscar's spiritual weapons strikes the demonic woman hard in the chest, while she dodges the other. The dinosaur scrabbles helplessly at Kale's armor and Alphonse runs off for the manor house.
Unsure of what's happening, Faelyn scrambles out of the gazebo and falls into the bushes.
Samavashti laughs delightedly at the chaos below her and flings her hands into the air. "Come! Come, oh my brothers and lay waste to my enemies!"
Whatever she's doing is obviously going to take a moment or two...
Initiative Order:
Alphonse
Fung Xi
Ayaki
Oscar
Samavashti
Kale <---
Dora
Kale, go! Kill them, my pretty!
If you think Fung Xi is too hard to hit, go kill Oscar, Ayaki or Dora! Fung Xi won't get an AoO, but Boots and Diane will. Still, Kale's own safety is secondary.
Don't forget to start with a saving throw +2! (DC 25)
Kale Aldori
|
Will: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 4 + 2 = 23 You can vait a little longer Fung Xi. Kale pauses for just an instant seemingly torn with the decision of who to kill. 1d4 ⇒ 3 She settle with Ayaki. "Like my blade little bird? YOU CAN HAVE IT!"
She leaps from the gazebo and rush across the garden. Stopping where she can threaten him and Dora.
Kale Aldori
|
2 Spaces north 7 west, if the tree was in the way I would have gone north of it then swung back down. AoO from Boots and Diane, Fung is full defense, and you should get one as well if you have a melee weapon.
| Tarondor |
did the flying lady need to make fly checks after each time she took damage?
Technically, yes, but she succeeds on a "1".
_____________________________________________________________________Boots AoO: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 9 + 2 = 151d6 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 2 = 10

Ayaki Ao0: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 8 + 2 = 222d6 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (2, 6) + 11 + 2 = 21
Kale dodges all the attacks that rain down around her and closes with Dora and Ayaki.
[Dora, go! Then everyone else.]

Dora continues to sing to inspire her comrades (free action, 12 of 18 rounds used)
"♪♫♪♫ Right is might, so fight, fight fight!!! ♪♫ " (inspired +2 atk/+2 dmg for all allies)
She does not like Kale threatening her and Ayaki.
"Goldwing, protect the birdman from the sword lady." the griffon will swoop down on Kale.
Griffon bite, pounce, song: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 8 + 2 + 2 = 23 for dmg: 1d6 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 2 = 6

Dora will also command (free) Boots to move up and try to trip Kale.

Finally Dora will 5' step away from Kale and shoot at the demon-lady
"Leave my friends alone you mean lady!"

Dora looks back at Kale with genuine concern... "I am so sorry friend Kale. Please do not attack us."
Ayaki
|
Thank you Lady Dora. Lady Kale, I have made no attempt on your life, the griffon has.
With that Ayaki takes a 5 ft step NE and full attacks on the succubus with his cold iron arrows again.
cold iron arrows manyshot: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 9 + 2 = 30
damage: 2d8 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 7) + 6 + 4 = 19

Dora did you roll an x3 or an x2 on your confirmation damage?
Dora D Asplora
|
Oh crud - I was just so happy to hit/crit I forgot. Yes, that should be x3. Thanks Ayaki - and nice shooting there also.
crit crit: 1d6 + 1 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 2 + 4 = 8 extra damage.
I figured Kale needed something to beat on rather than PC's with her pent up aggression. :-)
Fung Xi

Seeing Kale leave to attack his friends, Fung curses silently, then after taking a breath rushes to the aid of his friends!
If Kale has not snapped out of it, Fung moves to the N of Kale (in Ayaki's old spot, with 50' move, he can make it without drawing an attack of opportunity, and flanking with the griffon) and slides low...
Improved Trip w/ Combat Expertise: 1d20 + 13 + 2 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 13 + 2 + 2 - 2 = 18
Burn final ki point for AC; AC => 27
Thinking a nasty 4-letter word right now... >.<
| Tarondor |
Dora D Asplora
|
If I remember the map correctly, Goldwing would have charged/pounced 10' for a full attack...although I do not think any hit Kale's AC, so same net affect. :)
| Inquisitor Oscar |
Oscar's blades continue to try and strike the winged woman as he orders Diane to guard Ayaki.
Spiritual Weapon: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 191d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Spiritual Weapon: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 101d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Round 5 and Round 3. I want Diane to aid Ayaki's AC. If that doesn't work he will just attack Kale.
Guard or Bite: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 251d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Dora D Asplora
|
Oscar, the spirit weapons should attack on their own, so you would still have a standard action.
| Inquisitor Oscar |
Diane by the way moved E, E, E, E, E. Oscar moves N, N, NE. and then fights defensively and aids Fungs AC. -4 to attack and +2 AC. +2 from Bard Song and +1 from Bless.

Power Attacking: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18Damage: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Fung Xi
|
Fung Xi drops at Kale's masterful stroke! He is dying at -4, unless she takes her second swing on him. If that is the case, he is dead.
Dora D Asplora
|
I believe the demon-lady goes before Kale (and before Dora). So Dora is holding response until we see her action. Also assuming that she will not do anything to change the outcome with Kale's attack on Fung Xi unfortunately. :-(
| Tarondor |
Diane could certainly aid Oscar's AC, but only if she was adjacent to him, and the moves above separate them. So she attacks Kale.
Diane: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 2 = 141d8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 2 = 10 <-- Miss
The winged woman's invocation was ruined by Ayaki and Dora. She snarls in unholy anger and says "I will have my vengeance! You will suffer for this...indignity!" Then she suddenly disappears.
_____________________________________________________________________
Kale's Will save (DC 25): 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 2 = 17 <--Nope.
Not a lot of guidance in the module on the PvP element introduced by the dominate person ability. While a wise opponent and a cruel GM might have Kale put him down for good, I think that strays too far into the territory PFS rightly seeks to avoid by avoiding PvP. So Kale randomly chooses another target for her second stroke after putting Fung Xi down.
Kale's Victim: 1d3 ⇒ 3 <--Attacks Dora, misses.
Elsewhere, Alphonse runs into the house and breathlessly tells Major Maldris that the guests have been slaughtered by the demon woman's daughters. He then realizes that all the guests are just fine and it was a lie.
Alphonse is two full turns away.
The only "enemy" left on the field is Kale, a fellow Pathfinder.
Dora, then everyone else, go!
Dora D Asplora

Dora gasps at seeing one friend try to kill another friend in cold blood. She realizes she has no way to find where the demoness traveled, only that her glittering form is gone from the yard.
"Kale, you have to snap out of it...you must resist the spell or more will fall like Fung Xi. We do not want to hurt you. It was the evil woman and she is doing something to you. She left you here alone. "
Not expecting reason to work, Dora will try to 5' back thru the hedge and cast glitter dust on Kale (DC 16 will vs blindness).
If she is not blinded then the griffon and wolf will move to attack her (not being called off by Dora). She will have Boots move around into flank with the griffon
