PFS Scenario 5-03: The Hellknight's Feast (Inactive)

Dora follows along with Kale, looking for sighs of things being out of place or changed since our initial tour. She remains pleasant to guests and staff alike.

"Our first tour was just way too short. I must see the esquisite furniture. They have excellent taste in artwork. I must speak to their decorator. Excuse me miss, could I get another of those cheese and fruit dishes? People tell me I am part mouse you know, but a healthy appetite is genetic with my people."

Dora watches interactions of the staff with each other and the guests.

GM perception for ayaki adds +4 to humans and +2 to undead.

Fung suggests that while we don't have to stay too close together (as we only have 30 minutes or so) we should never be out of line of sight. For example, while Fung opens the door for room 4, someone else can open the door for room 5. What do you guys think?

"Ha ha, I loved those little finger foods. I think I ate more than my share of those little crackers with the cheeses!"

I will split off and do adjacent rooms as much as possible. So if it is ok I would break off into room 5- Study. If you would like I will break off after we look over the current room.

Kale will try to remain as central to the group as possible the better to aid in the event of trouble.

Alphonse keeps with the pack not having an abundance in searching skills. He wishes he had his cats so he could pet them as they walk. He sighs heavily.

Nothing arouses any of your suspicions in the Study, Salon or Great Hall (3,4 or 5).

We keep moving, on the lookout for anything suspicious.

"oh, I wonder how the view is from these rooms? The windows are very well decorated. I just love those long curtains and valences."

Where to?

"Let us move across the room to check those rooms 7-10 there...

Ayaki follows the group, happy that he is not in the lead for a change.

Kale will stand by the door to area 9 watching for anything while they open the other doors.

So tell me what you're doing. Casually glancing in? Entering every room? Tossing the rooms for clues? What?

Ayaki will be the rear look out for the group to ensure the gang does not get ambushed.

I will go to room 8-Pantry and search it. I do not toss it as I do not want to make a scene, but I look around for anything that's different then what we saw earlier. If anyone asks why I am there I will use Sense Motive to see if they look like they are mind controlled or not. And then I say, Why I'm jus' lookin' for some pickled pigs toes. They go so great with red wine ya know. Go about yer stuff and Ah will be outa here in a jiffy.

Fung Xi looks in the room, spending a moment to scan the room, if no one is present. He tries not to touch much unless it is necessary and if he must, then he tries to leave the room in the state he found it.

If someone is present, he asks if they have seen anything out of place (unless they seem out of place.)

Fung is not looking to rummage through someone's private stuff...

Dora would check though room 10 - not tossing it but a good search visually.

" Interesting architecture here. But now I am starting to get hungry again. And a glass of wine would make this tour more enjoyable. "

Taydan will also take 10 searching and try not to move things unnecessarily.

Holy crud, Oscar, how'd you get a +19 Perception?

The Pathfinders search the pantry, storage closet, shrine and kitchen. When they enter the kitchen, Domeros Prinitar the chef glares at them and attempts to shoo them away from his busy cooking staff.

Oscar discovers a small leather pouch in the pantry containing three vials. Two contain a blackish oil. One is empty, but has a residue of the oil.

"Poison?" Fung asks as Oscar produces the vials? The monk also scrutinizes the chef to see if he might also be under some kind of charm.

Sense Motive +12

"Our humble apologies sir chef. We were taking the tour and did not realize this was off limits. This has been a wonderful dining experience. Keep up the great work."

perception : 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 looking for anyone out of place in the kitchen, besides ourselves. Possibly hiding.

Domeros Prinitar sourly answers Dora. "This is a place of artistry! Would you hang about and annoy a great painter while he paints! Begone! Back to the feast with you!"

[ooc]Prinitar seems arrogant and prissy, but not enchanted in any way. The kitchen is a beehive of activity, but Dora doesn't see anything that surprises her.

"A thousand pardons, Master Chef. We will take our leave," Fung bows and heads to the next location. Have we finished the ground floor, or do we still need to check room 12?

You haven't seen 11, 12 or the room that leads down to 14 (privy, smoking room, storage room.) A quick investigation of those leads to nothing of further interest. Do you want to go up, down or out?

"Let us check the upstairs first. What do you guys think?"

"I agree. Let us inspect the upper levels first."

Where to?

Upstairs to 15.

Sounds good. Dora follows along the tour with the others.

Ayaki goes last walking backwards up the stairs

Oscar wanders into the library to search that.

As the most knowledgeable man in all a Andor How could I go anywhere else?

Kale lags behind a little bit following Oscar. She seems lost in thought wondering what those vials contained.

As the Pathfinders enter the upstairs Trophy Gallery, they can hear the sounds of the guests mingling below. Nothing seems amiss here.

Is that after checking all the rooms, or before we have checked the rooms?

Before. Nothing seems amiss in Area 15.

I guess, since Oscar is checking the apparent library, Room 19? Fung checks the balcony first, and if no one is out there, he checks the next room on the East wall.

Dora will hang back and check from the stairs on the activities with the main party and guests. Any sound of changes in volume or topics of conversation, change of music etc? Just making sure nothing is afoot that we are missing while on the tour.

If that starts playing I'm heading strait to the fight. My sword hand is getting itchy

Oscar finds the library empty, with comfortable chairs and book-lined shelves. Fung Xi sees nothing of interest in either the balcony or the master bedroom.

Continue around the room. 21, 18, 17, 16

While Fung goes to 21 I will jump to 18, and then when he searches 17 I will check on 16.

Most of the upper floor reveals little of interest. But in the Maid's Quarters, Oscar discovers a second clue. He locates a shredded serving
maid’s uniform drenched in fresh blood stuffed between the wall and one of the beds.

Dora continues her watch of the stairs looking for strange behavior or noises from downstairs.

They didn't happen to have names on their uniforms by any chance? I will try and wrap it in something to hide the bloody clothes and to keep myself clean and then join the others

Well, something bad is afoot. Ah think we should search the basement real fast and see if we can find us a killah.

"I concur, Oscar. Let us hurry! I fear that things may turn South, very quickly..."

Kale grips the hilt of her blade, tugging on it to be sure it moves smoothly through the scabbard.

"Aye, the scent of blood and more is in the air. Ve needs hurry."
