The sun beats down across this muddy plain, a scant five miles from the walls of Absalom. Fellow Pathfinders gather on all sides, including well-traveled field agents and more permanent staff from the Grand Lodge itself. In the center of the field stands a wooden platform, raised some ten feet off the ground. The excited chatter drowns out the buzz of summer insects as the gathered adventurers speculate on what’s to come.

Pathfinder Society’s Master of Scrolls Kreighton Shaine steps up and begins to address you. Such is his presence that the hall falls silent, allowing him to speak.
“Yes, Pathfinders. A lot of you, certainly. Lovely! Well, find your places in an orderly fashion. We’ve got some truly exciting news today and I can’t wait to get started!”

Something has been abuzz around the Grand Lodge the past several weeks, keeping many Society scholars and casters busy and away from the public eye. This follows a recent conflict at the Grand Lodge that the Society kept from spilling into the rest of the city.
Supposedly the Society has reassembled the Sky Key, a dwarven relic it started piecing back together a year ago. The Society has been “secretly” buying up large quantities of sky metal whenever it appears in the market. The Pathfinders have also been recruiting dozens of arcane spellcasters, especially evokers.
The Grand Lodge has been importing all kinds of experts on Dwarven artifice, which seems reasonable—but also experts on Numerian science, conjurers, mathematicians, and even historians who specialize in Absalom’s earliest history.
Apparently today is about a “big test,” and it sounds like the Decemvirate needs a large number of assistants to handle whatever happens next.
The field has been marked out with a series of circles, which are unusual for social gatherings but standard for arcane rituals.
The assemblage of circles suggests a conjuration ritual, but there are enough variations that even this seems unlikely.
The markings across the field don’t align correctly for any sort of magical ritual. It seems to be something completely new.
Locals call this field the Bloodwatered Meadow. Many of the invading armies that tried to conquer Absalom assembled here before being defeated.
One of the most famous conflicts here did not even involve Absalom’s army. The Linnorm King Yardvun Skolson clashed with the Thuvian warlord Attagesha hundreds of years ago as both attempted to besiege the city at the same time but refused to share the glory with each. They crippled each other’s forces and were forced to retreat without ever attacking Absalom.
An archeological excavation led by the Pathfinder Society uncovered truly ancient sites in the Bloodwatered Meadow. The exact age is unknown, but several building foundations and pieces of pottery seemed reminiscent of old Azlanti designs.

Lasair sticks the metal rod into his backpack and starts looking around for a person who looks as if they are more experienced than him, but is stopped by Shaine's speech.

Bemmer need your portait. Map has being placed. Currently only Zoological Gardens and Temple Plaza are accessbile. I have pushed forward abit to make up for lost time.
You walk through and find yourself in an ancient caravan.
The stink of animal scat and rotting meat fills this massive cavern. Shelves, passageways, and fixtures have been carved into the wall by careful hands, each stylized to resemble a serpent’s head or body.
Two scaled beasts along with two more humanoid lizards looks alarmed at your presence though the handlers are quick to bark swift instructions an the creatures surge forward!

Asarnil makes a disgusted face and wrinkles his nose at the acrid smell:"Bleah! Who would have known? The past is disgusting!" he says. Then the elf notices the incoming lizars like creature "And aggressive! Some things never change I guess..."
So saying Asarnil points his finger at the the red scaled lizard letting a sphere of energy fly towards its head!

Lasir's shot thuds in home! Its bite felt keenly as the cruel barbs finds flesh and nearly rips out the arm from his target, it shrieks in pain as its lfe fluids pour out but it still stands though shakey.
Drostan's axe sprays forth gore leaving nothing much of the dinosaur except a bleeding hunk of meat.
The lizardfolk charges in! An attempt to take out the blatant intruders who have trepassed! Their arms tossing forth javellins intent on impaling the dwarf with the bloody axe!

It doesn't take them long as the remaining foes break as the dinosaur falls before all of you.
A hail of arrows from a group passing by takes down the lizardfolk and wave as they hurry onwards to another part of the complex while calling out encouragement and new updates.
Swiftly, the group makes notes and stretches of the beast's anatomy.
Assuming taking 10 here on the following skills Craft (painting), Handle Animal, Heal, Knowledge (nature), Profession (clerk, farmer, scribe, shepherd, or stable master), or Survival. Only one needs to pass.

Temple Interior it is. Combat slide has being move so that is is always 2nd or third slide.
Glowing coals warm this shrine and cast an eerie under-lighting on the towering, snake-headed statue behind the altar. The reek of ammonia and rotting flesh fills the air and burns the eyes.
Of course the sole remaining creature in here hisses in anger at your trepass!!!

The Pathfinders have allied with a group of Azlanti Rebels! They're joining up with Pathfinders as they make their way into the Serpentfolk Temple!
Each table now counts as one subtier higher for the purpose of calculating what benefits they get from Aid Tokens. Subtier 10-11 tables increase the Aid Another bonus to +5, the Allied Offensive option deals 4d8 points of damage, and Burst of Healing heals 6d6 points of damage.

The Pathfinders have worked their way through the Temple Interior, and have discovered that the serpentfolk are performing some kind of ritual in a basement level called the Ophidian Rectory. Perhaps if you rush there you can learn all about the serpentfolk's ancient sacrificial techniques.
