Baldwyn trades places with Leastrie and moves to tap the bone-like creature with his hammer. At the touch, the creatures surge forth and attack!
I am unclear if tap means "a soft tap" or if it means "hit really hard"
If it means the latter, Baldwyn can take a surprise attack, the former you simply initiate combat. I trust Baldwyn to adequately clarify his intenttions.

DM Ranginui |

The creature hit by Baldwyn continues its forward advance, and is hit by Leastrie in turn (although his weapon is only partially effective against the bone).
Instead of attacking, it rears up and sways back and forth - the effect is hypnotic. Most shrug off the effects, but Baldwyn and Kris find the vision of animated death dazing.
The second creature sits frozen in the rear, patiently waiting for an opening.

The necrophidius has been savaged greatly by the combined assaults, but seems to barely maintain its physical integrity. It continues its assault against the original foe that provoked it, but the snake fangs chip slightly as they are deflected by Baldwyn's thick armor.

Baldwyn continues to stand there, slack jawed wondering why this creature keeps trying to hug him. He goes back into his memories about others who would hug him.
Just to let everyone know I'm still here, waiting to smash something if it's not finished off by the time I snap to.

DM Ranginui |

The two magical attacks hit while the elven curved blade goes astray.
The beast continues its assault, but it's teeth bounce off Baldwyn's armor.
As Guilford channels energy through his wand once again and Shandor raises his tattoo-covered palm once more, there is an infinitesimally short pause as the entire planes seems to shift and shudder. Everyone in the group feels for the briefest of moments that this battle is being watched. However the feeling quickly passes and the combat continues.

Yet another freezing ray pierces the room's stale air towards the Necrophidius.

DM Ranginui |

The combined ice magic of the orcish mage and elven warrior (an unlikely combo, indeed) shatters the last of the necrophidius. A moment later, Baldwyn and Kris regain their senses.
Silence once again descends upon the group, but the faint sensation of being observed remains.
Pushing into the crypt, the Pathfinders find the a number of remains interred within - but none of names carved into the black walls above the sarcophagi are recognizable to the group.
Upon closer examination, it becomes apparent that the scattering of bones upon the floor are those of finger and toe bones - dozens of them.
Beyond the bones and sarcophagi, a cloak and a brooch lie in the corner. Guilford and Shandor quickly identify these as a protective cloak and brooch with minor dweomers woven into them - clearly no longer useful to their original owners.
cloak of resistance +1 and brooch of shielding.
The crypt is otherwise empty.

"Before we move on, let me see what I can do about those injuries." Chuurock brandishes his holy symbol, and tries to let the power of Pharasma flow through him and into Baldwyn, waiting to see if the pocket dimension has isolated him from his god.

DM Ranginui |

Even in this dark place Chuurock bin Ausk feels a connection to the Mother of Souls, and the divine energy flows freely. He can feel that the duality of life and death are in full effect here.

![]() |

Shall we go straight down this hall and check the door to the right?" Leastrie asks.

![]() |

"Agreed. In Bakharan's name, we shall cleanse every room of this foul place in wrathful fires."

![]() |

Baldwyn thanks Chuurock for the divine healing, flexing his shoulder. "Good as new. Thanks. What happened back there, anyway?"
He agrees with the others to make a good search of the rooms.

DM Ranginui |

The six move in swiftly in the darkness to the middle of the hallway. A closed door lies to the side, opposite a wall dripping a black ichor.

![]() |

Leastrie eyes the ichor warily. He kneels down and checks the door for traps and listens at it.
Any applicable knowledge on the ichor?
Base Knowledge Roll: 1d20 ⇒ 18

DM Ranginui |

The door proves to be neither trapped, nor locked. Leastrie hears the sounds of whining and chewing on the other side; perhaps some sort of beast lies beyond.
The ichor appears to be of the same shadowstuff as the rest of the plane, but with a thick gooey consistency. It drips from a few small fractures in the wall.

"We will have to sooner or later."

DM Ranginui |

Leastrie opens the the door. Within this large room, ruined armchairs, tapestries, suits of armor, and other noble accoutrements have been torn
apart and used to build what appear to be houses or nests for creatures roughly the size of small ponies.
The elf spies a massive and black dog-like creature. At least, a dog is what the outlines look like; even with darkvision the creature seem to blend into the darkness.
The creature bares drops a bone and bears white teeth. Neither Guildford or Leastrie seem to recall the bits of planar lore necessary to identify the creature.
