Laurallei casts her spell on Azygg, who moves in position. The rogue easily dodges Yagi's clumsy attack and is about to make a triumphant remark, when he finds out that the attack was only meant as a distration. He cries out from the pain as Yiel-Dan bites him, and he staggers from the pain.

Shera's arrow also hits, but doesn't outright disable the rogue. This one, with the blue shirt, tries to get away. He flees along the balcony and darts into the first door he finds. His buddy, the one in green, doesn't look so tough anymore. The man staggers, holding himself up across the railing. He curses his fleeing partner, then speaks to the Pathfinders. "Please, we were just..."

The guy in green can't do anything, surrounded and disabled as he is. The other one is fleeing, but Azygg has him pinned in the bedroom, shortly. I'll call the 'combat over' here, and assume both of them surrender.

The rogues are not hostile anymore, but neither are they willing to talk. They occasionally give each other meaningful glances, and you catch both of them looking at the door on the northern end of the western balcony.

Maps: Absalom Initiation

Shera opens the door to a children's bedroom. There are two beds, but both children, a girl and her younger brother, are huddled together in one bed, keeping a blanket close for protection. Standing between the beds, next to an open window, stands a handsome older man with a ponytail, the same you had seen on the balcony earlier. He wears very fine studded leather armor and has a longsword in hand. There is a grappling hook stuck in the window sill, with the rope pulled up inside the room.

As soon as the door is opened, the two children starts shrieking, and the girl points at Azygg. "Yes, I know," smirks the man. "They're the bad people from the circus, aren't they? Don't worry, I'll protect you." He holds up his sword to show that he's ready for you.

There's a portrait of the man in the maps presentation.

And casts a Color spray upon the ponytailed thug, positioning himself so the kids aren't in the cone. DC 16 Will save. I assume the kids are in the upper bed in the topleft corner

Maps: Absalom Initiation

Dindal's warning to the children is enough to tip off the man as well. He closes his eyes in time and avoids the effect of Dindal's spell. "Hah, so you like pretty colors, don't you? Here, take a piece of your own then, villains!" The man seems to really ham up his 'performance' for the sake of the kids. With his words, he draws a satchel of powder from his belt and tries to throw it at the floor behind Shera. However, his aim is exceptionally poor and the satchel collides with the half-open door. You recognize the satchel and know what's coming: upon impact the powder in the satchel ignites to a brilliant flash of light.

Of course I would have used the wand. I'll channel too.

"He lied to the children about what happened at the circus. Where are their parents?"

Channel is for everybody within range, right?

Dindal peeks out of the window, and after that turns to the children to see how they are doing.

"There now. Erm... relax!"

Not that he's particularly good at dealing with children.

Yes, channel has a 50 foot range. You can assume everyone benefits.

"I see," Sheriff Feldane says gravely. "Let's go around the house, see what we can find." Together, you investigate to see what else you can find out. "These are all Borvius's men," she comments at seeing the bound thugs in the main hall. "They're his employees, working for Ilsurian Storage & Hauling."

Upstairs you find the master bedroom, where unfortunately you find Master Braeton and his wife dead. They were probably killed in their sleep, but then posed as if they had put up a fight, rapiers wet with sticky blood hanging from their limp grasp.

A further room of note is the study, which appears to have been ransacked. A scroll tube lies on the desk, apparently forgotten. It contains Arhaneem Braeton's last will and testament: In the event of Braeton’s death, his business is held in trust by the town council for Braeton’s two children. If there is cause to suggest the business may deteriorate before they come of age, the council has the option of selling the business on their behalf.

Finally, the Sheriff comes back to the children, who seem to have warmed up - slightly - to Dindal's presence. "Poor children. I'll break the news to them later, when we get them in a safer environment. I'll arrange for some caregivers to come and take care of them, for now."

She eventually looks at you. "It seems like Borvious and his people may be more than just a hauling company. I'll be honest, I don't have any constables to spare, seeing how they're trying to keep the town from exploding over the circus unrest. Could you go there and check it out?"

Also of note: Borvius had a masterwork longsword, masterwork shortsword, and two [/i]potions of cure light wounds[/i].

"Back town we go then." Azygg says to the others and cradles his axe over a shoulder to begin walking back. "What plan at store of bad guys? Kill all?"

I would suggest the front line fighters myself and Azygg might make best use of those potions, unns.

If no one objects:

Yagi immediately drinks his new potion.

I already have a masterwork weapon, so the swords are up for grabs.

I'm not proficient in either weapon. I'll use my wand. Save your potion just in case. Now I roll well.

"Yagi let me see if I can help you with some more healing."

Wand CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

"Azygg maybe we should try to arrest them instead of just killing them. If they resist..." she shrugs. "How do we get to the hauling company?"

Maps: Absalom Initiation

"That's easy," Sheriff Feldane replies to Shera. "It's right by the docks, right next to his wife's store, Mistress Robella's Curiosity Shop. Also, if you're in need of healing, I could help with that. We have a healing wand at my office, for emergencies. I'm sure this qualifies as one. It's not full any more, but should still have some magic left. And indeed, arresting a few of them would be best, if they are indeed accomplices. But I'm sure you'll handle as you see best."

The Sheriff can provide you with a Wand of Cure Light Wounds with 10 charges left.

Thank you, Sheriff, iff. And GM Iff, iff.

Assuming we use up those 10 charges getting everyone to full health. I will keep the extra potion for an emergency.

Let us make haste to the docks, then, en.

Investigate the hauling company first, and the curio shop if needed.
