This is the discussion thread for First Steps, In service to Lore.

This thread is for out-of-campaign roleplaying and rules chatter. Please confirm you character here - I will launch gameplay as soon as everybody is in.

Confirming... will be playing a War Priest of Ragathiel from the ACG playtest rules.

Character has not chosen traits as yet... will be doing so shortly. He is somewhat ok at Diplomacy, Sense Motive and has Know: Religion.

He hits pretty decently however.

Checking in with Nijena Jaś, my aasimar paladin. Stats are mostly calculated, but I still have to put them in.

I think I have Nijena just about sorted out, although I'm still working on her background and personality some.

Edit: How will we be handling dice rolls?

Dice rolls (assuming you're not asking how to roll a die, seeing at how you proved yourself capable of that already)

Roll as you see fit, but with a reason - if you roll perception, tell me what you're looking at.

If you roll something that you're unsure of, or which depends on a condition ("if the guy moves, I twock him over the head"), enclose it in a spoiler tag. Also, if the outcome of the roll might influence a decision of a player acting before/alongside you, it's good form to put it in a spoiler tag.

Some DMs buffer rolls (i.e. want you to roll 5 checks in advance). Too much bookkeeping for me, I depend on the fairness of the players to not exploit the rolls (and haven't been disappointed to date)

Just a note, Fruno takes himself way too seriously. However, in his first encounter, I rolled terribly and Fruno ended up being the comic relief of the party, much to his own consternation.

I've put up a placeholder for fluff and maps here. I'm keeping it permanently in my header (FS1 Table 2) for easy access.

Yeah I figured it out like, right after my post. Good to know about the other stuff though.

I'm still figuring out how Nijena talks and the kind of language she uses, but I'm excited about how well PBP lends itself to role-playing.

I noticed quite the drop in posting frequency. Are you guys still interested? Anything I can do to improve things?

Also, just a heads up - I will be unavailable from Friday to Monday. Heading out of town for my youngest brother's wedding. If need be, feel free to NPC Fruno.

My semester just got back under way too, so I've had long stretches where I need to be reading/writing instead of playing Pathfinder, and I may have forgotten to check a couple of days. I'll try to read/post more regularly though, but I'm still very much interested in the game.

Have you considered running the other First Step scenarios? If so, count me in.

Thanks for running, it was fun! My Society number is 117426, and I'd be happy to play more first steps too, since I haven't done anything else yet.

I just realized that I never actually made Nijena for Pathfinder Society so she doesn't have a number yet.

They cancelled Pts 2 and 3 rather than tweaking the text. The confirmation is an evergreen though.
