The troglodyte steps away from Caelreth and begins casting another spell.
The spiders move towards the largest clump of Pathfinders, crawling all over them, biting and distracting them. Seelah, Zekuli, and Pietro each take 1 damage from the swarm and need to make two DC11 fortitude saves, one against poison and one against distraction.
Balenar moves into position and fires an arrow at the troglodyte, but his aim is off and it clatters harmlessly off the ceiling.
The stone of the tower beneath the feet of Caelreth, Hap, and the troglodyte seems to groan a little.

"He's summoning some kind of creature, everyone, watch out!" Zekuli calls out as he identifies the spell being cast. Just then the disgusting swarm of spiders starts crawling all over him and they make themselves impossible to ignore.
Fortitude poison: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Fortitude distraction: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
He manages to resist the poison in their nasty little bites, but is too busy brushing them off himself to do anything more than stumble backwards out of the swarm. Is the distraction only for one round?
Thinking of the alchemist's fire in his bag, he calls out to the other two, "Get out of the swarm! I might be able to disperse them."

Apologies for the very long day. This week was very busy at work. Next week will be busy too, but I expect we should be able to wrap up by the week after that. What you're about to read is the most time consuming GM post I've written yet!
Arisira continues to encourage the party and misses with her bow. Zekuli backs out of the swarm and calls for the others to clear out. Seelah (and Pietro) do as they're told.
Botting Pietro
To whomever asked, Distraction lasts for 1 round.
Pietro Fort. Poison: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Pietro Fort. Distraction: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Pietro makes his way out of the swarm and pulls out an alchemist's fire.
Seelah, the first save is for Poison, so you actually succeeded at your Distraction save but took Str damage: 1d2 ⇒ 1 instead.
As Seelah moves on to the Eastern side of the tower towards the Trog, the stone beneath her feet cracks, and that side of the tower falls away! As everyone attempts to leap to safety, the spellcasting Troglodyte falls out of sight...
Unphased by the destruction of the eastern wing of the tower, the spider swarm makes its way towards Zekuli and Balenar, swarming over them.
Balenar is poisoned, but makes his way over to the edge to see what happened to half of the party.

Hap, that save is a failure, but you may make additional saves for each of the floors below the fifth. Trust me, you don't want to take 60' of falling damage if you can avoid it!
Zekuli
|
Fortitude poison: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Fortitude distraction: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
"Argh!" Zekuli's plan is frustrated when the spiders swarm over him again. This time he manages to keep his head, while brushing off the spider bodies. He stumbles away, drops his morningstar to the floor, and then pulls out a vial of alchemist's fire.
Only then does he notice what happened with the side of the building. He gasps in shock and looks over to that side, torn between dealing with the threat that has been following him around, and helping out his fellow Pathfinders who may be falling to their deaths.
Arisira
|
"Be strong Pathfinders! Wait? Where did they go?!"
Arisira rushes over the ledge, peering over the side at her falling companions.
20ft move, Inspire courage Round 4/7
Pietro Slaszval the Boisterous
|
Pietro can't actually move that fast. I'm going to assume the swarm is still by the steps. That and he's probably wise enough not to bunch up with everyone again. That and I'm pretty sure he was standing were the werestoat is now. So I'm just going to put him 15 feet away from the swarm's current position.
| GM Socrates |
Pietro, do you have an action for this round?
Pietro Slaszval the Boisterous
|
Assuming positioning is right, Pietro hauls off and tosses the vial he has in his hand hoping it isn't anything he could still imbibe.

I really wish you had rolled for yourself, Hap...
Hap falls to the second story of the tower. Although he hits it pretty hard, taking falling damage: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 1, 2) = 10, he manages to barely stay conscious.
Caelreth gracefully hops onto the ledge as the ground falls from beneath him, while Seelah falls one floor and takes falling damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5.
Pietro steps back and throws an alchemist's fire at the swarm, but he misses, instead hitting the staircase. direction?: 1d8 ⇒ 2
Meanwhile, Zekuli prepares an alchemist's fire and Arisira rushes to check on her allies.
Arisira, you have 1 standard action remaining if you choose to take it.
Hap, Caelreth, and Seelah all still have a full round of actions now that they know their state.
| GM Socrates |
the map is up to date on each floor. Hap is prone on the service floor, Seelah is now standing up on the fourth floor. Everyone else is on the fifth floor. None of you are on the same floor as the troglodyte, but Hap and Seelah both hear a lot of flapping coming from the third floor
Hap Daywhisper

I'm fine. Just a bit of a sudden stop at the bottom. I'll climb back up and be there soon
I'll go back through the thread and work out what doors are open and such and start climbing back up.
Arisira

As she moves, Arisira pulls an acid flask out of her belt. Thanks for the catch DM
| GM Socrates |
Seelah still has a move or standard action? Caelreth?
Pietro Slaszval the Boisterous
|
"HAPP! YOU MIGHT NEED TO FIND A CHRISTEN AND A BUCKET IF YOU"RE COMING BACK UP! THERE SEEMS TO BE A SMALL CHEMICAL FIRE ON THE STAIR!" Pietro shouts down helpfully.
"Does anyone hear that flapping noise?" He shrugs.
| GM Socrates |
I'm not sure what your goal is in moving towards the steps, Caelreth. Could you clarify? You have enough move to reach the steps. What do you intend to do with your second action?
| GM Socrates |
I'll be at a conference all of next week, and y'all have waited long enough, so I'll post the next round here. I'll assume Caelreth wanted to go down the stairs for whatever reason.
The spiders swarm towards the nearest target; Pietro! He takes 2 damage from the spiders as they crawl all over him And with that, the spiders disappear, apparently returning to wherever they were summoned from.
"What do we do now?" Balenar asks, hesitantly, perhaps a little disturbed by seeing so many fall from the broken wing of the tower.

Seeing the immediate danger pass, Arisira begins to head to the staircase, calling out her companions names. She moves as quick as her halfling legs will carry her off through the tower.
"Hap! Seelah! I am coming"

@Caelreth/Ansha I'm going to say no one saw where anyone else fell
Zekuli
|
"Oh, bother. At least those creepy crawlies are gone." Zekuli puts away the alchemist's fire and hopes fervently that it won't be needed again. Hearing the voices of his allies calling out from various distances he bends to pick up his morningstar and calls over the edge of the building, "Who needs help? Does anyone see the trogolodyte down there? Did he make it too? I'll be on my way down!"
It's going to take me a while to get there though, alas
| GM Socrates |
Pietro, can I also get a fortitude save against poison from you?
Other than Pietro, it looks to me like most of y'all on the top floor are heading down, while those of y'all on the other floors are heading up. If that's not right, please correct me.

Being wise, Pietro was waiting for the fire on the stairs to go out first. ;) After that, and healing himself, and anyone else who needs it, he stows the wand and heads down.
"BUT WE ONLY JUST GOT UP HERE!" Pietro complains.
Arisira
|
That's statement is true of Arisira (and also how I read everyone else's actions)
| GM Socrates |
My conference was awesome but obviously I was very busy. The next week should be a little more normal, although I am traveling several times. Shouldn't be more than one missed day in a row at worst, though
We'll keep it real simple and say that everyone's position on the map as of now is their real position. We'll further stay that going from the landing of one floor to the landing of the next floor takes one full move action, regardless of move speed. Just for the sake of simplicity.
Balenar silently joins the party in their trek down the stairs.

Zekuli hustles over to the stairs and down to the fourth floor. “Oh, here you all are. Well, most of you. No broken bones, anyone?”

so Caelreth has a move action left on the same floor as Hap, correct?
Pietro Slaszval the Boisterous

The ground-floor cafeteria? Pietro's starved. Remember he gave up his lunch so everyone else wouldn't. ;) I think it's more of a matter of meeting up, and then eventually investigating the 3rd floor.
Arisira

Arisira bounds down another flight of stairs, skipping steps along the way, to join Hap on the third floor. She calls back up to the pathfinders above her "I found Hap!
