Brother Tophor
Jal (5 damage, ref DC 14 to reduce to 2)
Shungur (6 damage)
Morack (5 damage)
Mylitta (10 damage, ref DC14 to reduce to 7)
Varus (5 damage, ref DC 14 to reduce to 2)
Ahendile
Thug1 (disabled)
Thug2 (5 damage; friends with Mylitta)
Tophor fires off a pair of arrows. The first draws blood, disabling the thug to Ahendile's left. He looks shocked, and sits on the ground, arrow embedded in his chest.
Jal moves forward to protect Mylitta, his sword held ready.
Shungur quickly heals the worst of his damage.
Mordac heads for the gate, turning he sees his preferred target is disabled and fires missiles of magic at the second thug instead.
If you want I can redirect this to the disabled thug
You are all back up again.
Mylitta smiles at the thug, who looks at her with a pained but adoring expressionwill DC 15: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11. Obviouyly distracted by the beautiful Mylitta he misses badly.
Ahendile, having giving up on the nice approach steps forward and bathes Jal, Varus and Mylitta in fire herself.
"Two can play at that game, fiend."
damage: 3d4 ⇒ (2, 2, 1) = 5 Reflex DC 14 for half
Varus throws a bomb at the foot of the holy Ahendile, which explodes in a satisfing manner, covering her in fire.
The thug still standing looks a little confused, and then fires a crossbow at Varus who had bathed his ally in fire.
attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Valrus Magewright
|
Valrus responds back "You should have paid attention in school. That little fire is nothing more than a soothing bath to me. I doubt you have similar protections. "
5 damage can't hurt me anyways
Bomb: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 10 vs touch ac
fire damage on hit: 1d6 + 1 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 5 = 11 Unlikely
miss: 1d8 ⇒ 4 Moving Clockwise starting in the nearest square to my path to her looks like it'll splash her, the thug, and Jal if 5' steps into melee. 6 fire damage, DC 16 reflex save for half
Mylitta Ianna
|
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Mylitta dodges the worst of the fire but looks hurt, (reduced to 2/9 HP) "Please", she begs the thug "stop that traiter from hurting me", indicating Ahendile.
After doing so, she falls back, triggering Inspire Courage for all her companions.
Jal Vaduva
|
Reflex DC14: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Jal gets his shield up just in time to avoid the full burn of Ahendile's fires. He answers with no quips or barbs... instead stepping up and letting his blade do the talking.
Step up to Ahendile, then Power Attack (including Studied Target and Inspire Courage)
mwk longsword: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 1 + 1 - 1 = 19
damage: 1d8 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 13
If that strike incapacitates Ahendile and leaves Jal with a move action unused, Jal will make Thug 2 his Studied Target ... just in case.
Brother Tophor
|
Perfect Strike, Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 2 + 1 - 4 = 16
Perfect Strike, Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 - 4 = 1
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 1 = 8
Tophor again looses an arrow, this time at Ahendile. The missile arcs high over Jal's head striking down at an equally steep angle.
Perfect Strike allows me to roll twice and take the higher result.

The wholey Ahendile falls to the ground. Tranfixed by fire, magic, steel and arrow there is very little left of her.
The two thugs look on in horror. Mylitta's friend drops his bow and runs for the northern gate, while the second one, sits at the well with his hands clutching at his wound.
Combat is over. That one can go a bit nasty if you do things wrong earlier. Wronger than trying to set the stable on fire that is :-)

I'm trying to figure out how we could possibly top that.
Drawing a blunted arrow, Brother Tophor strafes to a clear line of sight on the escapee. "Better not let them warn others..."
30' Move
Composite Longbow, Blunt, NL: 1d20 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 2 + 1 - 4 = 19 Crit?
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 1 = 8 Wah wah waaaaaaah.....
Damage, Non-lethal: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 1 = 6
Tophor just wants to stop the guy - no need to kill him, if he's given up the fight... Still, we have to get these dwarves out, and if he runs for reinforcements...
GM Aerondor

Oh she is dead. Magic missile to each eye, arrow to the heart, head removed by sword and what is left is charred beyond recognition by the blast of fire from Varus.
The dwarves emerge from the stable and look with a bit of satisfaction at the body of their tormentor.
The blunt arrow hits the fleeing thug, but apart from a bruise it doesn't stop him.
Jal Vaduva
|
Jal stands at ease, giving a quiet shake of his head down at the dead Razmiri. "Nothing for it. She didn't leave us much wiggle room. Still ... our employers won't be happy about the killing."
He cleans his blade on the corpse's robes then sheaths it, turning towards the northern gate.
"Well, let's get these dwarves where they're going."
Bsck to the boat, northbound. Not sure what's left to do, other than convince our clients and employers we had no other options.

Without further ado you escort the dwarves to the Abacus and set sail up the river. They take a few days to recover from their odeal, but they are after all dwarves and they do recover.
Rakuska once again thanks the Pathfinders. "I'm mighty glad you came along when you did. I'll not forget this deed.". Even the dour Pechas offers "Blessings from the Diamond Sage" to the group for his release. The third dwarf, Holfist spends more time talking with Metella than the other Pathfinders.
Once back on the river, you manage to sail up and out of Razmiran without further conflict. Temel seems pleased that you have favoured him over Metella and can't help but crow over her from time to time.
Is there anything else you want to do or buy before I wrap up the scenario?
Mordack Dune
|
assuming it is not breaking and entering mordack will take 20 perception in every room, he even looks under beds and checks every draw for treasures. If I'm not suppose to be in the rooms, then forget that.
Mordack Dune
|
yeah, I'm pretty sure that horse was an illusion, that would explain, why it did not flinch when I cast burning hands. Illusions, look, feel and even sound real, but the behavior of an illusion can only do what it was programmed to do. To tell you the truth I dealt with illusions before, I had a group of orcs attack us about a day before we entered a dark dungeon.
crypt of the ever-flame.
Brother Tophor
|
Wary from the attack on their earlier journey, and the thug's unfortunate escape, Tophor keeps watch in the bow, eyes open for signs of attack from the river or shore.
Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17
Jal Vaduva
|
Jal looks back over his shoulder at Mordack with mixed skepticism and disbelief. "Was a hell of a gamble, though. Had that been an actual horse, that would have gotten bad ... fast. Not to mention mean." He shrugs, "I guess as it is, no damage no fine, right?"
He looks around the group, his gray eyes considering. "I guess all in all not a bad little adventure. We all walked away. The dwarves got their friends back. We made a friend. A tale we can tell around the next campfire ... a bit of a comedy of errors ... but a tale all the same."
Mordack Dune
|
actually I didn't know it was an illusion until after I cast the spell, I was worried about it being an evil familiar or the familiar of someone evil, and the idea was to kill it by surprise before it tries something or warns its master.
Jal Vaduva
|
Jal's eyebrows threaten to climb up into his hairline at Mordack's response. "Oh, well yah ..." he replies, his words absolutely dripping with sarcasm, "that would be the logical conclusion."
He shakes his head, chuckling darkly as he returns to watching the banks. "I guess I owe Calistria big time that we walked away at all."
Brother Tophor
|
Tophor shakes has head in disbelief. "So the possibility of it being an actual horse never crossed your mind?"
Mordack Dune
|
Brother Tophor, you do know an actual horse can be a familiar or an animal companion as mordack says making a blantly obvious statement. and we were sneaking dwarves out of the dungeon. I thought the idea of it being an innocent oridinary hourse would be rare. anyway see your around. as mordack does his investigation of the place and wanders off.
Jal Vaduva
|
Jal shares a look with Tophor before his lip quirks in a half-smile, "Yah, Brother Tophor," he does his best to invest the half-elf's name with Mordack's same talking-to-a-nitwit tone, "what the hells would an innocent, ordinary horse be doing in a stable?"
When Mordack wanders off (to whatever part of the ship he's going to investigate), Jal barks a laugh and shakes his head. "This will definitely be one to tell around the campfire some time."
Just giving you a hard time, Mordack. :)

The will save was to perceive the illusion, not for scrying.
The main door into the inn has been barred, presumably by the three old ladies. Understandable when there is a big fight going on outside.
Mylitta Ianna
|
"We should potentially go" Mylitta whispers, the stress of the mission threatening her usually cool and calm demeanor. "As much as I would like to stay and track those ladies down, it could cost us time to break in, time we could put to better use evading our pursuers and taking these dwarfs to safety".
Jal Vaduva
|
I totally assumed we were back on the boat ... O.o
"Agreed," Jal grunts, stowing his shield, blade, and patting (once again) at his (once again) alchemically-burned clothes ... though he seems far more annoyed with himself this time. "Let's get the hells outta here."
Jal will do whatever is necessary to get through that southern gate .... whether it's a siple matter of muscle or requiring some Device Disabling.

You are, but for wrap up if folk wanted to do anything, now was the chance to do it. Likewise if you want any PP purchases or high gold purchases to go onto your chronicle, sing out. I'll post them tonight when home.
Shungur Edge-Of-Sky
|
"Well, we did pay for our lodging," says Shungur. "We shall never unravel the mystery of the horse. I certainly wouldn't want a horse on my shoulder," he says, patting his unruffled familiar.
