The $100 in the mail never turned up :-)
Blame the sucky dice roller. Almost max damage to virtually the entire party. Not a good way to go.
So to be clear, after the potion Tophor has only 3hp damage, so is on 6hp.
Brother Tophor |
Thanks. Assuming Shungur agrees to using my wand of CLW, I should be on full hp. Is he still with us?
Brother Tophor |
Mordack, do you realize that Thug #1 was fascinated, and you just broke that with your attack?
Mylitta Ianna |
Mordack, do you realize that Thug #1 was fascinated, and you just broke that with your attack?
Fascination effect breaks in combat regardless, and since I'm not spending an action maintaining my bardic performance, I'm not that upset by it. What I AM upset by is you attacking the thug I'm trying to hit with a Charm Person, because its now "threatened" but you, and almost impossible to successfully affect. Instead of worrying about someone else, look at your own actions :(
Mordack Dune |
I wasn't worried about it attacking you, and not why I attacked it. I had no idea that attacking the thug would ruin anything, as I thought combat already ruined everything there was to ruin. I was just attacking the thugs in order. ie. down 1, then down 2, then the boss, or I'm focused on escaping, since all we have to do is get the dwarves out of there, maybe we don't even need to fight?
As far as them sending out a search party, I would think that could not happen in a PFS game, since the module needs actual NPCs to send, not to mention the module may or may not say what happens if we just run, but I could be wrong.
Edit: Well the DM has not posted yet for new round, so if he lets me change my target to Thug 2, I'm willing to do that.
GM Aerondor |
Nahh, combat is chaos. It is not like you planned this in advance
If you had done a "Don't attack the one on the left, I'll try to charm that" type thing in advance it would have been helpful.
Actually planning does make a compulsion based casters life much easier.
BTW, you are all almost finished the adventure. Can you double check your information from the first page, and make sure you have included your faction (or include it in a new post) and a day job roll (if necessary).
Mordack Dune |
Nevermind, it was tophor trying to attack the one she charmed, so no need to change my target anyway. I was confused who Mylitta was talking to because my name was quoted in the post.
anyway day job roll craft armor: 9 + 1d20 ⇒ 9 + (14) = 23 double checking my modifier, please wait a minute.
Brother Tophor |
What I AM upset by is you attacking the thug I'm trying to hit with a Charm Person, because its now "threatened" but you, and almost impossible to successfully affect. Instead of worrying about someone else, look at your own actions :(
Fair enough. I didn't realize you were doing that, since it was written OOC, and I didn't see a roll. Additionally, I was at the top of the initiative round, so my actions should have superseded yours. My understanding is that the thug should be fascinated unless attacked, and he gets another save if approached offensively.
I think my question to Mordack was still valid and polite, but if I apologize if it came off differently. I'm trying to assess Mordack's intentions here, and I think that's more than fair given recent events.

1: Brother Tophor
2: Jimmy Lomax
3: Grand Lodge... for now
4: 125008-1
5: Day Job Roll: 18

Craft Alchemy: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
Reroll
Craft: Alchemy, take 10 : 10 + 15 = 25
if taking 10 on reroll isn't ok, I was trying to look this up and couldn't find it.
Craft: Alchemy : 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33

BTW: Besides the digression over going through a horse (That Valrus is still convinced is a real horse!), and the subsequent burning rubble on us from said horse, this PBP has definitely gone a lot faster than the other one I started for PBP day. Good job keeping the posting rate up everyone.
GM Aerondor |
I'm just working up the chronciles:
@Valrus I don't see why taking ten on a reroll shouldn't be valid.

Yeap, this is the second to finish of the four I am GMing for GD3. The first to finish was a Confirmation run. Keeping the posting rate up really helps.
Jal Vaduva |
It did move pretty quickly. I may be able to shop Jal around for a second Gameday game at this rate. :)
And, just for convenience:
Ben Jolly
Jal Vaduva
The Exchange
121383-1
Day Job: None
Also: this is Chronicle 2 for Jal, and he currently has 3 XP.
GM Aerondor |
I've got the chronicles all but done, just need to check there is nothing extra anyone wants to do, and then this is a wrap.
Thanks for the game all.
Oohh, boon roll time. GM gets to do this. You get a boon on a 1 or a 20.
Morack: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Brother Tophor: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Varus: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Jal: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Mylitta: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Shungur: 1d20 ⇒ 7
GM: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Out of luck :-(
I'll do the reporting tonight.
GM Aerondor |
It's been my pleasure, thanks for being a great team of players and keeping up the posting rate.
When the GD reporting finally goes through, I think this is the game that will get me my first GM star.
GM Aerondor |
I'm going to let at least one of my others ones finish first. At the start of GD3 I was playing elevent and GMing another four- aside from non PFS online gaming activity. Luckily I was not the only person with eyes bigger than my pukko. Quite a few of the teams are saying they need to pause and get their number of games under control before starting any new ones.
That said, a natural follow on from this is "The Merchant's Wake", which I have run before. Temel and Metella reappear. It is slightly unusual in its own way with again it having a big focus on the social side of the game rather than just combat. Not that there is not a battle or two.
GM Aerondor |
Okay, chronicles are uploaded. If you could all check they look correct that would be much appreciated.
Jal Vaduva |
My sheet looks good (and Jal's updated on his sheet, including a hella-expensive new Glass River Tattoo). :D
GM Aerondor, completely understandable on the 'number of games' thing. If you decide you're up for running another (and especially if it's Merchant's Wake, which I haven't been in), give us a shout.
Otherwise, I'm gonna go see if I can drum up another Gameday scenario. :)
Mordack Dune |
dm, when you filled out my chronicle, my starting exp was 6 not 3, so I was level 3, not sure if this puts me in out of tier gold or not.
I had 2 chronicle sheets before this, not one.
edit: and I never did have some of the expensive stuff I bought recorded on my chronicle sheet. I have ring of protection +1 that needs recorded.
altogether, I spent a total of 2432.4 gold. But if you are doing gold totals, it would be chronicle sheet 1+2+3+ (150 starting gold every gets)-purchases. In which the 150 starting gold wasn't included when you did them.
Edit: anyway, thanks for running this.
Shungur Edge-Of-Sky |
GM Aerondor, the sheet looks good for Shungur, thank you! I may also shop Shungur around for a scenario. There's still time to Color Spray someone right in the face before the next holiday!
GM Aerondor |
Nobody failed the scenarios. I'll recheck Mylitta and Mordack when I get home.
Mardack: If you can let me know the gold you entered the adventure with (prior to ring of protection) I'll put that on the sheet and then subtract the ring as an item purchased.
Valrus Magewright |
I just realized I gave you the wrong number (54527-12). My -11 is my GM credit baby who's never been played. (I did it correctly here, not in the start of the thread)
I also just realized I didn't include the +5 from Crafter's Fortune, so my day job check should be 5 higher (75 gold I think).
GM Aerondor |
@Mordack Back in October you said:
1: Character name: Mordack Dune
2: Your name (as you want it to appear on the chronicle sheet): Mordack Dune
3: Your faction (note we had may as well use the new faction names for season 6). See my symbol, if that changed, then yes, I'm taking the replacement.
4: PFS # for the character: #135676-1
5: Day job roll (or indication you don't have one) arcana teacher: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
6: starting XP, starting PP, starting Fame, Starting wealth, and what chronicle # this will be for the character. 3 xp, 4 pp, 4 fame, 1195 gp, but I'm not carrying this on my character, I'm leaving this at my characters home, others that would be 24 pounds of gold weight counted against me, during the course of the scenario.
7: What scenarios has the character completed? (or been credited with): Just crypt of the everflame.
I assume you completed the second scenario between the middle of october and the start of GD3.
@Valrus where does the crafters fortune come from? It doesn't show up as one of your normal extracts.
GM Aerondor |
I've uploaded three new chronicles. Have another check of them.
@Varus, I'll see if I can change the reporting so -12 comes in not -11, I'm not sure how that will work as it is GD3 reporting which is a little unusual.
GM Aerondor |
NP. I do similar things. Getting the chronicles right is one of the hardest parts, thus my desire for everyone to check and sometimes it takes two or three attempts. In FtF it is a bit easier as you have ready access to all the chronicles.
Mordack Dune |
I remember getting a chronicle at the last minute before starting this game, and it was by accident too, because a friend did the reporting for me and was going to go onto a different character as it was an AP where you did not have to use a PFS character or use pfs rules, but I was like oh well, but all the chronicle sheets are in my profile.
his fame would be 10 and pp would be 10, because 4+4+2. I got 4 each from the previous 2.
Edit: also this is the first chronicle sheet where I have had everything totaled like that. All the other ones I've had only show the stuff I get from that session, and I have quite a few level 2s and 3s. So you could say I'm use to keep track of the totals myself, gold, pp, fame, etc.
Edit: also, you can doublecheck my gold total, but I calculate 1845.6 gold
150 starting+1398 chronicle 1 +1536 chronicle 2+ 1184 chronicle 3 +10 day job -2432.4 purchases=1845.6 gold as the total at the bottom
My other DM that this guy is in now is very particular like that, so I'm making sure this chronicle sheet is correct.
Don't mean to be a bother, but I'm sure you understand and thanks.
GM Aerondor |
PBP much of the time GMs ignore the starting and ending gold, but I've never seen prestige left blank. I tend to do the gold because it means there is a firm checkpoint.
Chronicle is updated. See how it looks now.
