Vacation warning
This is an early heads-up that I will be on vacation from the 24th (Wed) PM (EST) through the 29th (Mon) PM. I'm heading to a music festival; I expect there to be some level of internet access, though I don't know how reliable it will be or how distracted I will be. Posting may be sparse while I'm away. Please feel free to bot me if I'm holding things up. (I prefer it if you roll and confirm lots of criticals. Thanks!)
I will be prioritizing PFS Gameday over other games, and am targeting one post per day unless it's just impossible to connect. Since Gameday doesn't start until the 27th, there should be minimal impact.

A new holiday tradition--the reading of
With apologies to Clement Clarke Moore
'Twas the night before Game Day, when all through the house
not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The minis on the mantle had been painted with care,
in hopes that St. Jacobs soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
while visions of adventure played in their heads.
And Mama with her fighter, and my redeemed darkfire adept,
had just stolen into the lair of that false Razmiran sect.
When out on the roof there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
tore open the shutter, and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
gave the lustre of midday to objects below,
when, what to my wondering eyes should into view dance,
but a miniature sleigh and eight writers who freelance!
With a haggard editor, fresh from an all-nighter,
I knew in a moment it must be Wes Schneider.
More rapid than eagles, his coursers they came,
and he whistled and shouted and called them by name:
"Now Tim! Now Nick!
Now, Greg and Amber!
On, Richard! On, John!
On, Mike and Mr. Baur!
To the top of the porch!
To the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away!
Dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
when they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky
so up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
with the sleigh full of gamer swag, and audio dramas too.
And then, craning my ear to the roof perpendicular
I could hear the heavy tread boots of each contributor.
As I drew in my head and was turning around,
down the chimney Young Wes came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fake fur, for they are not overfond
of that sort of thing in blue Washington's progressive Redmond.
A bundle of books he had flung on his back,
and he looked like a peddling librarian opening his pack.
His eyes--how they twinkled! His dimples, how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
and the beard on his chin was in need of a mow.
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
and the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He looked a bit high, and slightly less then regal,
but that's what you get in a State where pot is half-legal.
His character, a multi-class ninja pirate half-dinosaur elf,
its huge Hero Lab sheet made me laugh, in spite of myself.
With a wink of his eye and a flip of his thumb
he showed me the new archetype that was yet to come.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his editing work,
and corrected our character sheets, even Bill's the rules jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
and giving a nod, up the chimney he rose.
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, 'ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Game Day to all, and to all a good game night!"
Everyone get their Game Day Tree up and hide their pre-painted Game Day eggs?

@Everyone:
Sorry about my lack of reply these last few days. I've been doing several things at the same time IRL, including moving out and planning our wedding. I'll be ready for tomorrow but I've spent most of the week this far driving around and setting the new house.
I'm looking forward to GM'ing this game for y'all :)

Just a heads up that I'm on my way home, but it's a long drive and this game has a lot of material to digest on the road and on my phone. Tenebri will go along with the majority consensus, and I will express his desires more clearly once I'm home later tonight or, at worst, tomorrow morning. Thanks for understanding, and please bot if I hold things up.

Hey, gang. My computer has died. I still have my iPad and occasional access to a laptop (like now), but it's going to be slow going until I manage to fix or replace the computer. I'll do my best to keep up, but please pay through if necessary.

I've seen people post about the 'rule of 2' for PbP games, and it makes a lot of sense to me. If 2 players post in agreement on an action, and no opposition has been posted, that counts as party agreement and we move on. Waiting for everyone to formally say yes can take a day (or more) sometimes.
So yes, we move into the temple. :)

Moving this over to discussion to keep Gameplay clean.
Tenibri wrote:I have to agree that I was a little surprised that nobody moved out of the tunnel during a full-round casting....Not all of us know the arcane ways of casters, or the consequences of the spell. If your character doesn't say what he's doing, my character won't know, player knowledge aside.
Looking over the turn order again, it looks like we just rolled Init too low. Tenibri and Ptolemeo were the only characters who could act before the skeletons boxed us in. Tenibri started his casting, and Ptolemeo cast bless with no accompanying move action, so we became trapped.
Had Tenibri telegraphed his intent, nobody could have moved anyway; we were already boxed in by then. Should Tenibri have abandoned his spell, given that circumstance? Could Tenibri have abandoned his spell? (With only 2 level 1 spells/day, I'd be hesitant to just let one dissipate, but if it's the right call, I need to know that that's what I should have done. I have to admit, I don't often play back-of-the-party casters, so forgive me if I've bungled up our options here.)

There's all sorts of stuff that can still be done. Bullrush comes to mind. Had I memorized hydraulic push or not used my arcane bond earlier I could have tried popping Ptolemeo and all the skeletons in front of him out like a wine cork if he weren't being all dwarvishly stable that is. ;)

We just did, NN 959. Thanks for asking :)

Indeed, sorry. I could have explained what it was about.
The aid token is a special feature for the Mutitable specials. A definite number of tables receive them at the beginning of the game. Once a table use it, the GM pass the token to another table.
You can use a token at any time, but you all (let's say 3 for PBP) have to agree to use it. Remember that the fastest you use the token, the fastest it'll maybe come back to you :)

![]() |

I propose we use the Aid Token now for a Burst of Healing; 50% chance it brings back our healer.
Otherwise, we could use it for Timely Inspiration to help bring down Green quicker.

Works for me!

No one won a boon, unfortunately!
But here are your chronicles and the game has been reported. They'll remain on my drive for a month before I delete them, so be sure to save them on your computer.

![]() |

My chronicle is perfectly right. Thank you for the game, GM Zinou!

Out of curiosity, what was number needed to get a boon?
16 or 20.

Would any of the encounters in this scenario meet this Liberty's Edge faction goal?
"Defeat a known slaver whose Challenge Rating is at least equal to your character level."
"For the purposes of this reward, a slaver is a creature that owns at least five slaves, is maintaining a compulsion spell or effect to control a creature for at least one day, or is explicitly cited as trafficking slaves."

Cool game! Thanks again.
