Male Half Elf Swashbuckler-1/Rogue-1 (HP: 17/17; AC 15, 13tch,12 ff; F+1.R+8, W+0)
Nifty!
Well, nedyr has offered to dismount his horse and sneak closer to get a closer look but he doesn't have dark vision so he would only be able to see so much in the cave
I see three options for when I type something that is by some NPC with a limited command of the Language.
1. A PC can ask said NPC in the game thread.
2. We can discuss in the ooc thread
3. I can try to improve the speech of the NPCs to add clarity, and hopefully retain the believability.
I have on rare occasions posted in both threads. which was funny..
F Human Cleric 1/Ranger (Divine Tracker) 1 [HP: 20/20 | AC: 13 (17 vs ranged while prone) T: 11 FF: 12 | F: +4 R: +3 W: +5| Init: +1, Perc: +6]
Personally, I would get frustrated having to ask the NPC to consistently explain their broken Common in game. That isn't much fun and kind of a waste of time and energy in rp.

while I understand the urge to mangle a language (Which can be fun) to show a character doesn't have command of it, I think 3 is probably the best option.
You could always create fictional kobold cursewords to throw in if you want to flavor it as different. :)
I thought one of the original crew made a knowledge check way back when. I will see what I can get up in the game thread for her.
Although not sure how the mite ecology helps you guys decide.....
Mites are nearly the strangest among the lower CR things, they are not so distantly connected to the fey world (and like pranks) though often their idea of pranks tend to have a more malign intent (or at least a chance someone gets hurt, loses and eye, etc).
Mites are also strangely connected to vermin in a weird way they seem to understand tiny creatures that live in a big world, they comprehend that which hides, swarms, stings and runs away from over-powering dangers.
Mites tend not to gain friends in other races due to, living around other mites, and of course some off-putting behaviors within their natures.
Strong warning an individual mite may vary greatly from what is described with a general knowledge check.....
Examples you say...
1. with class levels
2. an advanced version
3. a mite paragon
You guys were doing a great job role-playing I almost hated to interrupt it. But it was a fairly quick trip to the old sycamore and back to the mine........
Kenderkin, may I remove the archtype Beast Rider from my character?
I am not really seeing it being of much use for my character. Since Markov has not gotten to the point where it changes base class, nor do I see Markov making use of it. So what do you think?
Absolutely! I have no qualms about people re-arranging their characters, as long as we all know what is going on.
A note on languages....
If you decide at next level to pick up draconic or under-common (or both) You can assume that Mickmek or Crackjaw taught the languages to you.
Or
You can request that they teach you in the game-play thread.....
F Human Cleric 1/Ranger (Divine Tracker) 1 [HP: 20/20 | AC: 13 (17 vs ranged while prone) T: 11 FF: 12 | F: +4 R: +3 W: +5| Init: +1, Perc: +6]
KenderKin, when we first encountered the new guys in game and set off to find the moonradishes, Rowena, Tassira and Nedyr already rped with Mikmek (and Markov) to teach them Draconic. Your npc just never replied to the request. ;)

Curious about Markov, she turned to face the man and gently asked, "Perhaps you may teach me the kobold's language as we travel together? I have a wish to learn it and it appears you have the capacity to teach me, Markov. What say you, sir?"
Not wanting to appear rude to Mikmek, she bowed her head and added to the kobold, "I would be happy to learn from both of you. You will find me an eager pupil."
Diplo with Mikmek: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28

"I'd love to learn it too, sir." Tassira nods. "From either one of you."

"And I wouldn't mind learning a few words in Kobold myself, seems only prudent."
