I do think that the XP is a fairly important game component, and should be kept as close to the original rules as possible. Other than that everything looks pretty good. We should take this time to figure out the connections too, right?
Yeah, I think I'll keep the XPs, but I will give them to everyone in the party. After all, you are a team. However, since you will only get one XP per GM intrusion, you won't be able to give an XP to another players. What each player does with their XP will be their own thing but, hopefully, we won't have 1 PC being Tier 1 and another Tier 4.
With regards to connections, go ahead and pick someone but have that 'connection' occur in the game. For example, if your connection means that one PC next to you also benefits from 'ice armor' then go ahead and have that happen 'now' and not something that occurred in the past.
I'll start rolling for cyphers and oddities (2 per PCs, I like oddities) for those PCs that have already joined the campaign.
One more thing I forgot. I will usually try to leave more than one place for your inputs but feel free to just reply to one input and then later reply for the others. No need to reply to everything at once. It's ussualy better to start replying so other players can post off that initial reply.
Makes sense?

This turned out to be a bit verbose. I guess I'm excited. I'll do my best to organize it in sections.
XP System Discussion: In my experience with running The Strange, the system for spending XP for temporary effects dosen't get much use at lower tiers. It's very painful to delay the transition from 1 Edge to 2, or to gain that second level of effort, to say nothing of the fact that characters tactical options are pretty limited until they start adding more type and focus abilities (Given that Onslaught is almost a no-brainer, our nanos are going to have very similar combat moves until Tier 2). Around tier 3 or so, the transition between 3 Edge and 4 carries a lot less weight, and gaining a temporary effect or declaring a setting detail becomes a lot more tempting. I think this slant towards higher tiers is at least partially by design, as one quirk of the cypher system is that it takes the same amount of XP to go from tier 5 to tier 6 and it does to go from tier 1 to tier 2. I believe that it's expected that early on players will focus primarily on advancement and progress fairly quickly, while players with more developed characters facing greater threats will be more prone to spend XP on temporary benefits and as a result character advancement slows down as they approach the higher tiers. Of course, this is only based on my own experience, and our own mileage could vary considerably.
As such I don't think the XP will make a huge difference early on unless we all make a conscious decision to evolve our characters slowly, which may be suboptimal because it will delay the acquisition of more interesting tactical options. So it may be a bunch of extra paperwork for little benefit.
That said, I love GM intrusions. I'm a big fan of the FATE rpg system, and both the receiving and spending of XP borrows heavily from the idea of Fate points. In the Cypher system the spending part is somewhat hobbled by directly working against character advancement but the receiving part still shines. I think GM intrusions are particularly well to a PbP format, as the hardest part about them is coming up with good ones on the fly. It might end up being awkward though, I'm not familiar enough with the format to know for sure.
We could do a trial run and use the XP system as written in the rules with a time set in the future to decide wether we find it's bee worth it or not..
Player connection suggestions: Antar Es. Agia's focus suggests that she form a connection where another character gets the +1 armour advantage from her ice armour ability if they are standing next to her when she activates it. Picking largely at random, I propose that this connection be with Antar Es. It may be a quirk of his implants, or possibly a hint at a shared lineage between the numenera device that transformed him into a cyborg and whatever forces resulted in Agia receiving ice powers as an infant (she believes they came from her sky god, but it wouldn't be the first religion to be founded on a misunderstanding or outright lie). I also think it would provide an interesting trade off because Antar is much more likely to be in the thick of things than Agia, so the synergy encourages her to dive into battle alongside the glaive rather than hang back and sling esoteries. I defer to the GM on whether or not the extra armor on an already heavily armoured character might be too much. The first time it occurs will almost certainly be by accident
Player connection suggestions: Dreithik. I'm going beyond just the suggested connections since one connection seems insufficient in a party of five, I propose that Agia sees the more knowledgeable Dreithik as something of a stand-in for the clan elders she left behind (who she loved as teachers and caregivers but detested as authority figures). Therefore, Agia desires Dreithik's approval as a mentor. It's up to you, Ryan, but Drithik might in turn be interested in studying Agia's endothermic physiology. After all, a metabolism capable of operating at sub-zero temperatures would be a considerable boon for the reanimation process. Agia is likely to balk at giving samples, however.

cypher: 1d100 ⇒ 92
Metal Death
Level: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Wearable: Wrist-mounted sprayer
Usable: Canister with hose
Effect: Produces a stream of foam that covers an area about 3 feet by 3 feet (0.9 m by 0.9 m), transforming any metal that it touches into a substance as brittle as thin glass. The foam affects metal to a depth of about 6 inches (15 cm).

Ghostly Duplicate
Level: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Wearable: Bracelet, necklace, ring
Usable: Handheld device
Effect: When activated, an incorporeal duplicate of the user appears and remains for ten minutes. The duplicate does not have a mind of its own. Rather, the user controls both forms, but only one at a time. Switching consciousness between forms is an action.
While the user’s consciousness focuses on one form, the other stands motionless. The duplicate moves at the same speed as the user’s normal form, but there is no limit to how far apart the two can be.
The duplicate is ghostly and translucent. It can pass through solid matter and cannot be harmed except by special transdimensional weapons and effects. It likewise cannot affect normal matter in any way. While moving as the incorporeal duplicate, the user gains an asset for all stealth tasks.
When the duplicate’s duration ends (or it is somehow destroyed), the user’s mind returns to his normal body. If the normal body is slain, the user stays in the duplicate, but only for the remaining duration.

Agia The Clanless |

(I'll get the ball rolling on the actual playing while we're discussing cyphers, connections and rules. Let me know if I'm making any formatting or stylistic missteps.)
Action 1
The setting sun was a mercy. Agia couldn't believe how much hotter the weather had become during her journey northward. It was bearable on the canals and in the shadow of the sail, but she snugged up her thick wool coat to keep in her own aura of cold just the same. She hesitated to ask questions when Deymish prompted the group. This job had been a perfect fit for a girl with a light shin-purse and an urgent need for transportation to elsewhere, and this wasn't the time to blow it by thinking too hard about why the pay was so good for a job this simple. As the boat cut silently through the water she visualized every meter forward as taking her farther and farther out of the reach of the nine clans of her homeland. In the end, a question did occur to her: “These Aeon priests, they ol' friends of you and yours? They pay on time? I'm not keen to be sitting 'round on my tush while they gather up the scratch, even when you're paying by the day.”
Action 2
Agia gasped audibly as the ropes snatched the first insect. Her heart skipped a beat as her eyes searched for Gary, her pet Drakka. Spying his bulbous form hovering over by the rail, she stepped away from the others and gathered up the cat-sized fly in her pale arms, "It'd be best to stick close to me, bug-butt," she intoned softly, "if the boat likes nomming those skinny buzzers it'll think you're the summer feast."
She hugged the chirping Gary tight as she returned to the others, and arrived just as Deymish was coming out of the trance. Agia gazed skeptically at the proffered bug innards. Full of nutrients, no doubt, but raw bug still made her queasy. She spent a futile moment fantasizing about the chewy grub cakes that elder Cassie had made for the last clan meeting. Agia's stomach growled at the memory.
Well, that was the past and today the menu was apparently fresh and slimy. She grabbed a modest handful and made a short salute to both her host and the sky before throwing her head back and choking it down. After swallowing she forced a smile, revealing crooked teeth stained black by the ooze. She turned to the rest of the hired muscle: ”We should've known there was a catch when the job said meals were included, eh boys?”

I like oddities so I'm given two to everyone.
One of your cyphers is an occultic cypher as opposed to an anoetic cypher. The occultic cyphers are 'are rarer, more complicated, and more dangerous' and they count for two cyphers.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. I do NOT mind at all that you question me on rules, etc. I WILL make mistakes but we will fix them and move on.

This turned out to be a bit verbose. I guess I'm excited. I'll do my best to organize it in sections.
XP Discussion: I'll give them out as the game intends (well almost since I'll give all players 1 XP when I do give them and not to individual players) and let you guys decide how to spend them.
Connections: Only one connection for those things that affect other players, such as your ice armor.
We can, however, have as many soft/fluff connections as it makes sense. And these will probably develop over the course of gameplay.

Dreithik Sangius |

Dreithik eyed the setting sun as the salty air stung his nose and throat. On a boat of all places, running goods for a couple of Aeon Priests? Oh well, a shins a shin, no matter how you get 'em. Pushing his Greasy dark hair back under his hood, he shivers as a cold, eastward wind chills his slender frame. After a deep breath (and a bit of coughing), he puts his mask back on.
Action 1:
Do you have any questions?
In a gruff voice No, no the sooner we get this trip done, the sooner I can breath again. This air will be the end of me! He proceeds to put on a coughing fit, natural but exaggerated. He then stepped back, awaiting responses from the rest of group.
Action 2:
Seeming that we have already seen how he controls the boat, I shouldn't be wholly surprised when it starts whipping around at bugs. Although he has already seen the creature, when Agia returns with the large fly in her arms, an odd shiver went up his spine. You best keep that one away, Girl. Don't know when the ropes are hungry again...
You guys ought to try it?
Dreithik watched in disgust as this burly man scooped out the innards of this insect, but found his mind firing questions immediately. I wonder if the other coloured one would taste different... how much better warm is it than cold? Maybe they wont notice if I catch one for myself..
Ought to, eh? Just open it up and scoop away? Not to be an Ill Guest, but if we are finished for the nights preparations, I will retire.
As I skulk away, I want to try and catch two of these butterfly's without anyone noticing; one to try warm and the other cold. Rolled a 9.
Action 3:
Rolled a 10
Groggily, Dreithik rushed to get off the ship and on to solid ground again, and not being one for water travel, proceeded to rip the mask off and vomit once he stepped off.
Makes sense as I didn't make a roll to notice anything, too per-occupied in being sick. If catching the bug was a success, I would like that to be the reason for sickness.
Not too sure if everything is formatted properly, please let me know if this is somewhat correct. I am using the italics to identify thought.

Proud Grognard |

Wow you guys are fast! I intended to check the thread last night, but came home very late. And look what I missed!
As for connections: I am all for Agia having a connection with Antar Es. May I offer a suggestion? Antar spent some longth months getting to know his abilities. It stands to reason he would search a nano to ask things. Perhaps he met Agia that way, because she had a reputation as another newcomer in the city. They have a working relationship.
If Synergy agrees, this is how Agia knows of Antar 's secret: That a well placed blow to the base of his spine will render Antar Es almost helpless for some time.
Now, on to moving things around.

Antar Es |

Antar Es half smiles with Agia 's discomfort at the sun. Not out of malice - Agia was the closest thing he has had to acquaintance for over a year- but because he knew it would be coming. She is always complaining about the sun.
It would be good to be discomforted by glare again, he thinks. But since his transformation, heat and cold where not the sensations they used to be. Nevertheless, for the sake of appearances, Antar Es adjusts his purple headband and goes over to Agia.
"You should try one of those", he says, pointing at his headgear. "They help". He then takes a moment to wrap the bandages above his boot and below his gloves tighter -there is a small trickle in both, but is barely worth the trouble- before he makes a round around the boat to make sure that he has a good idea of its layout. This is what glaives do, right?
Action 1
Antar Es waves negatively. He knew the pay and he knew the job. Not much more to know after that. But if his years in a traveling troupe had taught him something, was the importance of knowing well your teammates. Antar Es approaches Dreithik.
"I don't think we have met. I am Antar Es. I suppose I am the hired muscle. Or blade-spear, more accurately. What is your area of expertise?
Nasty cough, you have there. Is the salty sea wind giving you trouble?"
Action 2
But the rest of the conversation fizzles out as the so called boat starts eating insects. Antar Es gives an alarmed look at both the others. Whispering, he says "Did you see that?" . But Aria and Dreithik think quickly on their feet. He smiles and says
"Good for all of us that we do not look like bugs. I would hate to start to wrestle the boat I am on"
When the matter of food comes up, Antar Es tilts his head, considering. He did not really all that much food. But it would be good to know if these were edible. He takes a small spoonful with his spoon and eats it.
Not bad. Not that much, anyway.
But then Dreithik goes over the board, the sounds of retching being heard.
"So, not the sea wind after all..."
Action 3
When they approach the dock, Antar Es sits up from his carefully selected spot of maximum visibility. He has traveled a lot, though not by boat. This is not what happens when supplies arrive. He arranges his
spear and his shield, as he tries to understand what is happening.
"Deymish, is this normal?"
Intellect test: 1d20 ⇒ 8

Agia The Clanless |

If Synergy agrees, this is how Agia knows of Antar 's secret: That a well placed blow to the base of his spine will render Antar Es almost helpless for some time.
Sounds great! Agia knows many old tales that speak clans with metal skin and whirring powers, and though research would be slow and ongoing she would be eager to gain the trust of a glaive who could offer her a measure of protection.
Action 1 In the end, a question did occur to her: “These Aeon priests, they ol' friends of you and yours? They pay on time? I'm not keen to be sitting 'round on my tush while they gather up the scratch, even when you're paying by the day.” Deymish smiled; it seemed he was always smiling. "Nah, I've been to Redstone once or twice before but I never met the priests. From what I hear they keep to their tower."
He scoffed, "I sure hope they pay on time. It's my intent to head back the same day, spend another night in the canals, and be back in Nebalich the next day." He looked at the girl, "What's your hurry? You got someone waiting for you?"
Action 1 continued...
"It's more like I'm hoping that someone isn't waiting for me when I get back." she said, somewhat cryptically. "Nothing criminal, and nothing that will affect the job. It's a... you know... a family matter." She shifted uncomfortably, hesitant to say more. While she was reasonably certain that hunters from her clan (or worse yet, a rival one like the Wumpus) wouldn't follow her this far north, the possibility of them posting a bounty was still very real. The less a passing acquaintance like Deymish knew about her troubles, the better. She sidled over next to Antar as the conversation petered out. At least now she was getting to know people stronger than herself, people she could really help. Like the songs said, being alone was fine when the going was good, but when things turned sour she would need people she could rely on. Action 3 Agia eagerly hopped onto the dock an instant after Dreithik, thinking that he knew what was happening and was leading the way. Plus, as steady as mysterious ship was, she longed for solid ground beneath her feet. Realizing that Dreithik was just retching, she gingerly stepped back a polite distance and turned her eyes on the mysterious town.
Intellect: 1d20 ⇒ 16
16 rolled and -1 level bonus beats level 6 (18)
Straining her eyes, she spied a small group coming out of the town. Something was wrong with their eyes. "There they are!" she cried happily, "I guess they're just being slowpokes today. Though... now that I get a better look, I think they might be sick?"

I'm sorry to hear that but don't worry about the game; real life always comes first.
I'll save your spot by just bringing your PC along but not taking an active part in the story. You can jump in the game when things get better on your end.
If at all possible, please let me know every few days or so how things are going and when you can start playing.

I will still try and do at least a daily post...per the recruitment thread I am brand new to these boards and have no clue what an alias is or how I set one up with a character sheet...sorry
Well, if you have the time...
Top of the page, click on 'My Account';
Then click on 'Create New Alias';
Then go to your home page and click the tab 'Aliases'
Select the alias you just created and click on 'Profile' and then 'edit my profile'
You can then copy and paste your PC information there.
You then post using the alias (it will give you a drop down menu to select who you post as).
Let me know if you have any questions.

Antar Es quickly turns to where Agia is pointing. He can just barely see what she is pointing at.
"Good eyes, Agia. Though I don't like the looks of this. I say we get back on the boat for a bit. Until we are sure what is happening. Behind me, people."
Antar Es waits to see if the others will follow his advice. In any case, he stands in front, shield and blade-spear at the ready.

Antar Es |

Zion, how about a character connection? Perhaps Zion was the 'fence' and identifier of Antar Es' collection of cyphers. He seems the kind of guy who would know where to find buyers for them. In fact, could it be that Zion was the one that gave a heads up to Antar Es about their current common job?

Due to your ability to make people lose their memories, Sica would not be happy about this. He has lost too many and has too many gaps in those he has to risk losing any moreI agree, but considering this would be sort fo our first meeting, I don't think each others abilities are very open as of right now.
Sorry, should have qualified the post - that was a suggestion for consideration in the future

Sica Sendrillar |

Action 1
Sica stood in the prow of the boat, watching the banks of the canal scrolling past. He was struggling with his internal thoughts. What had happened to him, why were there huge gaps in his memory and why was what he could remember very patchy? There was only one way to find out; he needed to talk to people. He turned and listened to Deymish.
“Master Deymish. Have you delivered here before?”
The Glaive Antar Es might be the best person to speak to first; after all, he is a fusion of flesh and steel.
Sica moved towards Antar Es, but paused when he saw the woman Agia join him. Non-the-less, he carried on and joined them.
“My greetings to you. I am Sica Sendrillar, a …, well, you can call me a seeker of a purpose. Why did you sign on for this job?”
Action 2
“No offence Master Deymish, but I will pass on the insect supper. I perceive that it may be an acquired taste.”
Having observed the behaviour of the sail; Sica looked to see if there was any way of sleeping off the boat. However, Deymish had dropped anchor in the centre of the channel and, short of swimming, there was no way to get to the bank.
Is this normal practice in Seshar?
How are the others reacting to travelling on a ship with a carnivorous sail? Sica noticed that Agia hat a pet bug of some kind, so he went over to stand with her.
Action 3
Sica was in the middle of the boat when he heard some cries that people were approaching.

“Master Deymish. Have you delivered here before?”
The big man scratched his beard and nodded, "Aye, I have been here before but I've never dealt with the Aeon Priests."
He looked away as if remembering, "I came to pick up some tiles for a rich schmo back from the capital. That stone they quarry here, it's... pleasing to look at but I wouldn't stare at it for too long."
He shrugged, "You should consider buying a tile or two or bricks. Well, you have to buy more than one. They make good souvenirs."

So just some general notes:
I'm very pleased with the start of the game. I will wait one more day to recap and set up another situation or two so we ca give a chance for Zion to post.
Feel free to continue roleplaying. If you want to set up another situation, you may of course do so. For example, feel free to describe your morning routine on the boat or something like that.
I intend to recap tomorrow at the latest.
Thoughts?
Game on!

Zion Sulast |

Antar Es, I like it, since I do delve many ruins looking for numenera, I would have connections for offloading what I find while looking for that one big score.
I was thinking that Zion could also have his "connection" be to Dreithik. My connection is that one PC is able to hear me no matter how stealthy I am. My thought is that Dreithik's connection to the dead would provide an explanation for why this is, as the spirits of those who have passed on swirl about us at all times.
Action 1
With another day done, Zion began to reflect on how he had come to be aboard this vessel. It felt like a lifetime ago that he witnessed Srinim breathe his last breath, as he held his hand unable to save his best friend. Today marked the five year anniversary of that devastating event. Sitting in a secluded section at the aft of the boat, Zion looked down at the small wooden dowel he was holding in his hands, hoping he would get to see the engraving move. Srinim and Zion had found this oddity while delving an ancient ruin at the edge of the Beyond.
"I miss you my friend, I would light a candle but I suspect the captain of the ship wouldn't take kindly to an exposed flame" Zion muttered to himself.
After a few moments of reflection Zion stood and looked about the ship for Antar Es. While Antar Es was a fairly new acquaintance, he did present a rather extensive collection of Numenera for Zion to identify a few weeks back. It was then that Zion passed along the details of a job he had heard about, a job to deliver some goods to a group of Aeon priests. If Zion had learned anything over the years it was that Aeon priests often presented a great opportunity to learn of new ruins to delve. Locating Antar Es, Zion shyly walked over after seeing the Antar Es wasn't alone, keeping his gaze downcast to avoid making direct eye contact.
"Oh, ummm hey there Antar Es, I hope I am not interrupting anything. Glad to see you managed to make it onto the crew. Anyway, I guess I will be on my way to find a bit of grub...but hopefully it won't be actual grubs tonight."
More to come, perhaps not until morning

Sica Sendrillar |

Sicar starts to sing a song under his breath
"My name is unimportant, and my job you could call mean
But I like the work and I do it well
And thst's enough for me
I think there was a time when I could do and did much more
I have dreams in which I captain the ship and hear the ocean roar"
He paused, distracted by a commotion on the quay.

Antar Es |

Antar Es turns to Zion, waving with a half-smile as he approaches. Antar Es was a trained acrobat and a marvel -or a horror- of numenera biomodification. And yet, the totally organic Zion sometimes made him feel clumsy. The man could really move silently if he wanted!
"Yep, I made it, thank the Lights! So far, it seems an easy trip, and I need the money. Have I ever talked about Agia, the nano? Agia, here is Zion. A good man to know if you want to walk or avoid the shadows. Zion, Agia knows the numenera perhaps even better than you. I think you may have things to discuss."
Then the other man approached. Antar Es nods and half bows with a performer's flourish. Some habits die hard.
"I am Antar Es, Sicar. You can say I am the hired muscle for the trip". Antar Es smiles at the private joke, since it is not clear to anyone how many actual muscles he has left. " And this is Agia and Zion, people of many talents and knowers of secrets." Antar Es lowers his head afterwards and says "Purpose can be a hard thing to find. I know what you mean."

Agia The Clanless |

"Agia, here is Zion. A good man to know if you want to walk or avoid the shadows. Zion, Agia knows the numenera perhaps even better than you. I think you may have things to discuss."
Agia eyed the rugged man suspiciously, and silently took his measure.
Good in the shadows? That could mean a delver, or perhaps just a sneak-thief. I suppose either one is likely to prove useful before long and if Antar Es trusts him he can't be all that bad. For now I'll watch my back, though.
She straightened up and did her meager best to look wise and mysterious. Her knowledge may already be considerable but she would still need a lot of practice before she mastered the presentation aspect of it. "I do indeed know many tales of that which comes from places and times brighter and darker that our own. Sorting true tales from tall ones can be a puzzle, but when I get my mitts on the bits and bobs themselves I find things quickly become clear."
“My greetings to you. I am Sica Sendrillar, a …, well, you can call me a seeker of a purpose. Why did you sign on for this job?”
Before responding, Agia spent longer than was strictly polite gazing at the stranger's fascinating eyes and the faint patterns inscribed upon his skin. "My reasons aren't anything as unusual as 'seeking a purpose', I suppose. One of the Old Tales tell of a tribe whose youth would spend weeks meditating about possible professions and then their destined work would appear as a tattoo upon their faces. Are you one of those lot? she rambled on, desperate to seem worldly, until her good sense caught up with her mouth and she faltered, "Nah, probably not. You seem a bit big for a coming of age ritual, and if I don't miss my mark you're talking 'bout something more profound than just becoming a cook or somesuch. Many of the Old Tales are old enough to have lost their rhythm and rhyme, so it's likely they've had time to lose most of their truth too."
Embarrassed by her overeager tirade, she unconsciously fiddled with her necklace.
"I guess my reasons for coming along is just that I was short on shinies and I like to keep moving. This job happened to fill both needs. Plus, it's always nice to meet new people."
...feel free to describe your morning routine on the boat or something like that.
Agia stirred as the first rays of a dawn painted a long glowing streak across the western face of the canal. She awkwardly climbed out of the unfamiliar hammock that Deymish had provided and just barely managed to avoid a noisy tumble. She crept to the front of the ship, doing what she could to avoid disturbing those who were still sleeping.
A wispy fog hugged the water's surface. The fragile reminder of the cool Seshar night would be torn to ragged vapour when the sunlight touched the surface, but for now it seemed to underline the burden of countless ages bearing down upon the silent vessel and the ancient canal that cradled it. This brief time between the suffocating darkness of the night and the oppressive heat of the day was Agia's favourite time. She raised her hand to the sky and whispered a dawn prayer: "For me and mine: bright skies, good eyes, and a path to travel 'til the 'morrow." She completed the gesture and wandered off in search of breakfast.

Zion Sulast |

Action 2
Continuing to look towards the ground, Zion lifts his gaze ever so briefly to glance at Agia. Without realizing it, Zion began to stare at the strange looking woman...Why was her skin so pale, perhaps she simply has circulation issues. That can't be it though, her skin has such an odd sheen to it...and her hair, she doesn't appear to be that old, yet her hair would suggest her to be quite my senior. Maybe she is suffering from some unknown disease...that could explain why she is so bundled up...
"Hello there Agia, my name is Zion...though I suppose Antar Es just said that didn't he. It is a pleasure to meet you, by chance are you dying from some strange disease? Have you perhaps been infected by a biological symbiotic creature that is feeding off your blood to make your skin so lacking of color?"
Zion sighed heavily, looking once again at the ground he gave his head a bit of a slap as he mumbled to himself...Zion, you idiot. What are you doing, that wasn't polite at all. If your mother were here right now she would drag you away by the ear and give you a good scolding. This isn't the way to act around new acquaintances...
"My apologies Agia...it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."
Seeing one of the other hired hands approaching, Zion began to shift back and forth on his feet, pacing a bit. As Sicar introduced himself Zion turned away...
"Sicar, got it, I am Zion and I think I am going to be sick so please excuse me."
Zion ran to the side of the boat, leaned over the edge and breathed deeply. At that moment Zion turned just in time to see Deymish crack open the giant insect and scoop out the innards. It was more than Zion could handle and thankfully he turned back in time for the vomit to go overboard instead of on the deck.

Zion Sulast |

Action 3
It had been a long night, Zion barely slept. As the sun rose over the bow of the ship, Zion overheard the crew saying that Redstone was near. Having not eaten anything for dinner Zion cracks open one of his sets of rations to have a bit of breakfast. Thank goodness this trip is almost over. What was I thinking getting onto a small vessel with so many people. Sure I need the money, and yes I could use some new leads on ruins to delve. I know it is time to move on, time to open back up and establish some new friendships, but how can I risk putting anyone else into danger yet again. If I put myself into danger so be it, but no one else deserves to be in danger due to my actions.
As the dock came into sight, the crew of the ship began to pick up the pace making preparations for coming into port. Zion assisted with anything he could, while he was no sailor he had a strong back and was skilled with ropes. The ship came to a stop and was tied off to the dock...but where were the dock hands, where was the dock master. Surely someone would be keeping watch over the docks if for nothing else than to collect the docking fees and verify that no illicit goods were being brought into town. Yet it was silent. Zion quickly became suspicious of the situation, spotting some cargo crates at the end of the dock Zion dashed for some cover, something was off.

Action 3 continued
Feeling confident that he was well out of sight, Zion scanned the area looking for any signs of why the dock was empty.
Intelligence Check: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Seeing Antar Es grabbing his weapon and shield, Zion reached to his right hip and took hold of his trusty dart thrower.
Why are the rest of them just standing there, can they not sense that something is amiss. Perhaps I should warn them...
Mumbling quietly to himself..."No, maybe it is nothing, maybe the town just doesn't usually receive traffic in the early mornings. Still, better safe than sorry..." Continuing to scan the area, Zion locks eyes with Dreithik. "Wait why is that hired hand looking right at me...how could he possibly know where I am. He did kind of creep me out on the boat, but I am certain I didn't offend him too much. Perhaps he is looking past me, yeah that's it, he is looking at something beyond my position."
Zion returned his gaze towards the town, watching...waiting...

Dreithik Sangius |

Action 1 continued
As everyone makes acquaintanceship, Dreithik stands a bit to the back thinking to himself and fingering the golden locket around his neck. You fool, how do you manage to chase people away at every turn? This is a fresh start, These people don't know what you can do and they don't have to.
After working himself up, he then tries to start a conversation with Agia. "Er... Hello Miss, I am Dreithik. If I may, you look a bit more worse for ware than I... what brings you on this journey?
As we discussed above about how she resembles the dead, it would make sense for Dreithik to be the most courteous towards her.
